Talented Heiress: A Rose With Thorns

Chapter 902

When Yvette finally woke up, the sky had already darkened.

"Yvie, you're awake."

Seeing the elegant man sitting beside her, a smile involuntarily curved Yvette's lips.

It felt so good to open her eyes and see Wilson. But this also meant that he now knew about the side effects she had been hiding.

Her smile faltered slightly, and she cast a guilty glance at him. Yvette had kept this from Wilson for so long, and it was now out in the open. He was bound to be angry.

Wilson's jaw tightened when he saw the somewhat fearful look on Yvette's face. His handsome face showed no expression, but it was enough to send a chill down anyone's spine.

"Does it still hurt?"

Even though Wilson was clearly angry, his primary concern was Yvette's well- being.

Hearing his question, Yvette shifted slightly. The excruciating pain had already faded, but she still felt weak and drained.

The pain caused by the drug had been unbearable; and if Yvette could barely stand it, how much worse must it have been for those children taken by DY Organization?

Yvette lowered her gaze and shook her head. "I'm feeling much better."

Wilson sighed in relief, but his intense gaze remained fixed on her. "When did the side effects start?"

"The day we returned to the Dark Organization." Yvette pursed her lips, answering honestly.

Yvette then lifted her gaze and sneakily glanced at Wilson. He seemed really angry. She wondered if she could calm him down later.

As Wilson thought of Yvette's odd reactions in the past, his hands, which had been resting at his sides, suddenly clenched. So, Yvette had been experiencing the side effects since then.

The guilt in his eyes deepened, knowing that if he had noticed earlier, Yvette wouldn't have ended up in such danger today.

Realizing he was blaming himself, Yvette's heart ached, and she took his hand in hers.noveldrama

"It's not your fault. Don't blame yourself," she said.

His voice was rough, making Yvette's heart ache even more. "Yvie, why didn't you tell me?"

"There's been so much going on lately. I wanted to wait until things with Mr. Maximillian settled before telling you—"

Before she could finish, Wilson pulled her tightly into his arms, as though trying to envelop her whole.

"Yvie, don't you understand? Nothing is more important than you."

A warm wave of affection spread through Yvette's heart. She smiled and

whispered, "I know."

Yvette was being so obedient.

Seeing her act so sweetly, Wilson sighed quietly, his heart softening. He couldn't bring himself to scold her anymore.

She blinked her eyes, then wrapped her slender arms around his neck, her voice soft and pleading as she said can't stay mad at me,

okay?" nes

Wilson had decided earlier that he needed to teach her a lesson this time, so Yvette would never hide anything from him again.

He pursed his lips, his face serious as he stared at her. "Shouldn't I be mad?"

Seeing Wilson's genuine frustration, Yvette blinked again. Feeling guilty, she leaned in to kiss him on the cheek in hopes of appeasing him.

"Don't be angry. I'm really sorry," she said.

The soft brush of her lips on his skin made Wilson's gaze darken, and he

swallowed. But his expression remained calm.

Yvette clicked her tongue lightly. It was so difficult to calm Wilson down when he was angry.

"I've already tried to make up for it, but you're still mad!"

Seeing her adorable, pouty expression, Wilson could no longer keep his serious demeanor. The affection in his eyes was clear. His finger@gently pinched her cheek as he said, "Don't hide things from me again."

"I won't."
