Chapter 969
Chapter 969:
Without missing a beat, Jessica texted back and arranged a meeting with the buyer to inspect the villa. Her own villa had already been repossessed, leaving only the property under Gianna’s name. Lately, with Gianna and Conroy strapped for cash, her allowance had dwindled to almost nothing. She didn’t think about having a place to live; she just wanted the money from the sale.
The next morning, the potential buyer came and marveled at the well-appointed villa.
“Why sell such a gem?” the buyer asked.
Jessica, engrossed in her phone, barely glanced up.
“If you want it, buy it. Why so many questions?”
Hearing that, the buyer said, “I’ll take it. How soon can we transfer ownership?”
“How about tomorrow? Leave a deposit of two hundred thousand today,” Jessica replied, her mind already on the party she had lined up for noon. Two hundred thousand would be more than enough to cover her expenses this time.
The buyer insisted on a written pledge and handed over the deposit. They went their separate ways.noveldrama
After touching up her makeup, Jessica headed out for a fun-filled afternoon with friends, completely forgetting about visiting the hospital to see Gianna until it was nearly four o’clock.
When she finally walked into the ward, Conroy was asleep. She couldn’t have cared less about Conroy and blurted out, “Get a caregiver for my father tomorrow. You need to go to the housing administration to transfer the ownership of the villa to the buyer. He’ll pay you then.”

“What?” Gianna’s voice faltered, caught off guard.
“Why did you rush to sell the villa two million below market value?” Jessica’s voice rose. “We’ve taken a huge hit. That two million could’ve kept me going for ages!”
Fearing disturbing Conroy’s sleep, Gianna ushered Jessica out of the ward.
The moment they were out in the corridor, Conroy’s eyes snapped open. “Selling the villa?”
His mind raced, torn between rushing out to stop the matter and staying put to avoid jail time.
In the long, dimly lit corridor, Gianna shoved Jessica to the far end, demanding, “What on earth were you talking about? Transferring ownership?”
“Didn’t you let me sell the villa? I’ve already sealed the deal, and the buyer didn’t even haggle,” Jessica shot back, her tone dripping with impatience.
Gianna’s heart skipped a beat. “When did I ever tell you to sell the villa?”
Jessica’s brow furrowed. “You posted the ad yourself and left my number. The buyer came this morning to inspect the villa and decided to buy.”
Seeing Gianna’s bewildered expression, Jessica pulled out her phone and showed her the advertisement. Gianna’s face drained of color.
“I didn’t post this!”
“Not you? Then who? What’s going on?” Jessica’s eyes widened in shock.
