Gloria’s eye..

red–rimmed, and she felt her frustrations weighing down on her heart..

She understood him. However…

“Win, how could you treat Millie like that?”

Winston lowered his head. Exhaustion seemed to envelop him as he said calmly, “Mom, I’ll make up for it. Whatever she wants, I can give it to her.”

The second he finished speaking, the door to the hospital room opened.

He looked at it.

Millie walked in. She was wearing a white dress, with her hair cascading down her back. She was holding some fruits and supplements in her hands.

When they made eye contact, Winston’s heart skipped.

Millie…

Millie didn’t know how to describe her feelings upon looking at him.

She said calmly, “I heard that Grandma was hospitalized. I’ve come to visit her.

Upon hearing her voice, Gloria stood up immediately. When she saw that it was Millie, she went up welcome her as though she’d seen her own daughter. She said passionately, “Mills!”

Millie put the things on the coffee table nearby and asked Gloria, “Mom, how’s Grandma?”

to

Gloria shook her head and said, “This is an old ailment of hers. The doctor has asked her to stay on for observation!”

“Alright.”

Millie came to her bedside.

Selma’s cheeks were pale, and she was still asleep.

Millie took her pulse. Thankfully, it was stable.

She asked, “Why did she get sick so suddenly?”

Gloria looked at Winston and snorted. She said, “You can ask him!”

Millie looked up, and her gaze met Winston’s.

She opened her mouth and then closed it. After a moment of thought, she asked, “Are you alright?”

She was still so gentle.

So gentle that it made Winston feel guilty.

Did she hear his conversation with Gloria?

He…

Gloria asked Millie, “What happened to him?”

She said calmly, “He went for a business dinner and drank a bit too much. Then, he ended up at the emergency ward, requiring a drip.”

Gloria choked before sighing.

Winston didn’t continue this topic. He said, “I told Grandma about our divorce.”

Millie froze.

She looked at Winston, and the veins in her temple throbbed.

How dare he? Selma’s body couldn’t deal with this!

Millie massaged her eyebrows. She asked softly through gritted teeth, “Mr. Greer, where’s your brain?”

Expressionlessly, Winston replied, “I left it at home.”

Millie was stunned silent.

How could this man act so righteously?

Winston glared at Millie and complained, “The rumors regarding your engagement with Simons has been making its rounds on the internet. Even if I didn’t tell her, Grandma would find out. Isn’t that right?

“That’s the nonsense that the media is propagating. Grandma wouldn’t believe them!” However, by doing this, they had exposed themselves.

How Selma let them get a divorce now?

Gloria looked at them and felt a complicated mix of emotions.

Millie opened her mouth to say something. Upon seeing that Gloria was still there, she pulled Winston out by his arm.

Winston looked at her fair wrist and her fingertips

She didn’t use much force. It was just enough to grab his arm.

She had her back toward him, and Winston could see the butterfly tattoo on her back,

This was the first time he’d seen her tattoo from such a close distance. Under the tattoo, the skin

wasn’t smooth.

Winston couldn’t stop himself from raising a hand. Just as he was about to touch her tattoo, he was pushed toward the wall by Millie.

He swallowed. The position of the tattoo was in the exact same place that Joanna had been hurt

He looked down at the woman in front of him.

Millie’s eyebrows furrowed. She looked extremely annoyed as she asked, “Why did you make the decision to tell Grandma about our divorce without consulting me?” Please check at N/ôvel(D)rama.Org.

Not for the first time, Winston thought that the one who wanted the divorce the most wasn’t him. It was Millie.

She wanted a divorce more than he did.
