Winston said gently, “I don’t need you to accompany me. Be a good girl and go home.”

Joanna thought for a moment and agreed. She needed to see Logan and find a way to acquire the Snowdrop.

Selma’s birthday was only a few days away!

After Joanna left, the ward went silent.

Winston sat up slowly. He leaned on the bedframe and looked at where Millie had sat.

Eli poked his head into the room and asked softly, “Mr. Greer, can I come in?”

Winston looked up. Eli was grinning mischievously.

Out of the blue, Winston said, “You’ve done well tonight.”

Eli narrowed his eyes. “Of course I have. After all, you were the one who trained me!”

Winston glared at him. Was Eli saying he learned to scheme from him?

Eli coughed and passed his phone to Winston. He said, “Mr. Greer, I received a message from Mrs. Greer after she left, reminding me to make sure you take care of yourself.”

Winston stared at the message from Millie, his eyes darkening.

“Do you like him?”

“Right, I’ve fallen for Simon… If everything goes well, I’ll get together with him after our divorce is finalized… Everything between us has been a mistake. Let’s end it here.”

His conversation with Millie played in his head repeatedly.

Her every word made his heart ache. Winston shut the phone off and yanked his needle out.

Ell shouted anxiously, “Mr. Greer!”

“I’m not going to die!” Winston got off the bed and let the blood drip out his arm. He ignored it.

He walked out, and Eli could only follow him.

Upon seeing Winston walk out, the nurse looked in and reminded him, “Mr. Greer, your drip isn’t done

yet!*

Winston ignored her.

He got into the car and said, “Drive home.”

Ell thought for a moment and asked, “Which home?” Copyright by Nôv/elDrama.Org.

Winston glared angrily at Ell. Fury erupted in him for no apparent reason. He asked, “How many

homes do I have?”

Eli didn’t dare to say another word. He drove back to the villa..

Winston stood by the door. When the door opened after he keyed in the password, annoyance rose in

his heart.

Winston shouted at Eli, “Change the password back!”

Eli nodded hastily and replied, “Yes, Mr. Greer.

When he entered the living room, it was cold and silent. There was no trace of human existence.

Suddenly, his phone rang.

Winston picked it up. When he saw who was calling, he furrowed his brows. He didn’t want to accept the call, but he had to.

Winston placed his phone to his ear. “Grandma, it’s late. Why haven’t you slept?” he asked gently.

Selma went on a rampage, “Winston, what is going on between you and Mills? And what’s going on between her and Simon? I’m warning you, if you divorce Mills and break her heart, I’ll skin you alive!”

Winston tightened his grip on his phone. “Grandma-”

“Winston, I don’t care what that Lowell bitch can do for you. Your wife can only be Millie, you hear me?

Selma sounded furious. If she was in front of him, she would’ve probably hit him.

“For my birthday, you and Millie must show up hand in hand. I don’t care what happened between you two. If you dare show up alone or with Joanna in tow, I’ll teach you a lesson.”

Winston pursed his lips and massaged his temples. He said softly, “Grandma.”

She was silent. Winston swallowed and said calmly, “Millie won’t go.”
