Richest Mogul

Chapter 1657

Joan said as she handed it to Wendy, "Ms. Specter, here's the document from the planning department."

Wendy shook off her thoughts and sat back in her chair. "Let me take a look."

Recently, the company had been focused on one major project, and as the manager of the entire department, Wendy had been working overtime.

As Joan was about to leave, she looked up at her and said, "Tell everyone that once we finish the project, I'll apply for a bonus and give everyone an extra day off." Hearing Wendy's words, Joan's eyes lit up. "You're the best, Ms. Specter."

Wendy smiled. "Go on, then."

Once Joan left, Wendy was about to open the document when something crossed her mind. She glanced down at her flat stomach and pressed her lips together. Her thoughts then drifted to the scene she had seen yesterday-Aiken entering a restaurant with a famous actress. She sighed deeply.

Shaking off the distraction, she turned her attention back to the document. Work was probably the only thing that could numb her emotions and help her regain focus. During lunch break, Joan came in to ask, "What would you like for lunch?"

Wendy wasn't very hungry and was about to turn her down, but then she remembered something. "I remember you once ordered some pasta for me. They were really good." "Got it. I'll order it now."

Wendy didn't have much time for a proper lunch break these days. And with food delivery being so convenient these days, she usually just ordered in.

A few minutes later, Joan returned. "Someone wants to see you, Ms. Specter."

Still focused on the document, Wendy didn't immediately look up. She asked, "Who is it?"

It was unusual for someone to ask to meet with her on the weekend. Normally, she only met with business associates during office hours.

Joan said, "I know her. She's a celebrity, who just starred in a web drama. Her name is Zera Schultz."

Their company didn't typically work with the entertainment industry, so it was odd that a celebrity wouldcome to see Wendy. Joan was equally curious and puzzled.

Wendy's head snapped up when she heard the name Zera.

Joan noticed her sudden shift in expression but was unsure of the cause. "Ms. Specter, are you feeling unwell?"

"No, I'm fine. Let her in," Wendy replied, her voice flat, and she turned her gaze back to the paperwork in front of her.

A few minutes later, Joan escorted Zera into the office.

Upon entering, Zera took a glance around Wendy's office. It was quite impressive. After the door closed behind her, she stared directly at Wendy. Though Wendy was a few years older, she looked only slightly more composed and mature. It was hard to tell she was much older at all.

"You might not know me, but I know you. I know you're Aiken's girlfriend," Zera began, her gaze fixed.

Wendy studied the young and vibrant Zera in front of her.

Perhaps it was Wendy's cunning, after learning that Zera had been seen around Aiken, Wendy had looked into her.

"If you have something to say, just get to the point," Wendy asked, her voice sharp and steady.

Zera wasn't fazed. "Looks like you

already know who I am. I'm sure someone as clever as you can understand why I'm here. It's simple. I want you to leave Aiken. He doesn't love you anymore.

"You two have been together for sa long, and yet, you've never gotten married. Have you ever wondered why that is? There's no love left between you two." noveldrama

Wendy felt a sharp pain in her chest, like a needle piercing her heart. She gripped the pen in her hand tightly, her fingers white from the pressure.
