Chapter 663 Are you sure grandma will never like me?
William and Bella looked at each other, both feeling uneasy.
Later, when Cathy came home from a day of work, she spotted the massage chair. Without a second
thought, she sat on it directly and enjoyed herself.
Closing her eyes, Cathy was quite satisfied with this massage service and she said, "Mom, Dad, did
you buy this massage chair? See? I was right. A massage chair would make our home cozier."
"We didn't buy it," Bella said.
"Then who bought it? Was it Grandma?" Cathy seemed to realize something so she continued, "Oh, I
know. Grandma must have bought this for me because she knows her beloved granddaughter will be
tired after work. This chair is so comfortable. Only sitting here for a few moments can relax my sore
muscles."
"Stop daydreaming. That chair was ordered by Sophia," Bella retorted coldly.
Cathy sat up at once, staring at the chair, eyes wide open. "You said Sophia sent this?"
"That's right. What's more important is that your grandma has changed her attitude toward Sophia. You
don't know how happy your grandma was when she received that massage chair. You should look at
her big smile."
Cathy found the chair annoying immediately. "Mom, throw it out!"
Bella walked to her, "Are you sure? If you do so, you just wait and see how angry your grandma will
become."
"Or what? Should I just put this damn thing here and let Sophia please Grandma?"
"You don't have other choices. I have seen through that little bitch Sophia. What a calculating woman
she is! When your grandma first came here, she didn't like Sophia at all. But only after a couple of
days, look how she adores Sophia now. Cathy, I'm afraid your cousin will become a threat."
Cathy scorned, "That's never going to happen. Ever since I was born, Grandma has loved me the most
and this will never change."
"I don't think so. We have to be careful of that calculating Sophia," Bella reminded her daughter.
"Careful for what? Nonsense!" Unwilling to take her mother's advice, Cathy went to her room directly
with her bag in her hands.
Lying in the bed, Cathy was about to call Sophia when she found out she was still on her sister's
blacklist. Therefore, she sent Sophia a voice message on social media. "Sophia Lawson, don't think
Grandma will be partial to you just because you sent her that stupid chair. I warn you everything you do
is useless. Grandma will never ever like you!"
Sophia soon texted back, "Cathy, are you sure Grandma will not like me?"
"Oh, don't look so cocky. I'll make sure of it."
"That's interesting. Let's wait and see."
Cathy could feel Sophia's confidence from herwords, but she didn't give it a damn. She couldn't see
why she should be afraid of Sophia.
The next day when Cathy was about to go to work, she noticed Grandma was talking to somebody and
laughed from time to time.
Cathy hadn't heard her grandma laugh so heartily for a long time. Driven by curiosity, she approached
her grandma's room.
"Grandma, just tell me what you want. I will order anything for you."
"Oh, you've bought so many things for me," the old Mrs. Lawson chortled.
"No, those are far from enough. By the way, Grandma, I'll pick you up after a while and take you
somewhere."
"Where are we going?"
"You will find out soon, Grandma."
"Don't you need to work today?"
"I do. But I arrived at the office as early as seven o'clock and finished all the work for today. My
assistant will call me if there is something else. It won't take me too long to go back to the office."
The old Mrs. Lawson asked with great surprise, "You went to work at seven in the morning? Then you NôvelDrama.Org (C) content.
need to get up much earlier than that. I thought your company opened at nine o'clock."
"Oh, I just get up a little bit earlier so that I can take you out after work."
Sophia really impressed the old Mrs. Lawson. As to Cathy, who have come into her grandmother's
room quietly, though she had gotten dressed, she didn't have the least idea to go to work even though
it was nearly nine.
The old Mrs. Lawson couldn't help but scold, "Cathy, do you know what time it is now? Why don't you
go to work? Do you want to be late on the very first day to the Summersky Group? Look at your cousin
Sophia. She has gone to work at seven. Now look at you!"
Cathy retorted unhappily, "Well, I'm not her. It's her choice to go to work that early. It's none of my
business."
"How can you even do your job with that terrible attitude?"
Knowing her grandmother well, Cathy continued, "So, Grandma, do you mean my cousin is better than
me while I am a good-for-nothing?"
The old Mrs. Lawson paused for a moment before explaining, "I don't mean that, Cathy. I'm just saying
that you need to take things more seriously or how can you succeed?"
"Don't worry about that, Grandma. I'll be a great employee, trust me. Goodbye, Grandma!" Saying that,
Cathy picked up her handbag and left.
The old Mrs. Lawson hadn't hung up so she complained to Sophia, "My god, look at your cousin."
However, their quarrel pleased Sophia and brought a smile onto her face, but on the phone, she was
comforting her grandma, "Everything will be OK, Grandma. Cathy has just come from abroad where
the companies don't have many rules, so it's quite normal if she hasn't adapted to the companies here.
I believe she will adjust herself before long."
The old Mrs. Lawson smiled and asked, "When will you come and pick me up?"
"A few minutes will do. I'm just coming out of the office."
"Great!"
Outside the old lady's bedroom, William and Bella had heard her quarreling with their daughter.
Approaching the door, they were about to say something when they saw her face filled with joyfulness.
"Mom, why are you so happy?" Feeling a little bit uneasy, William asked.
"It was Sophia calling. She said she was going to take me somewhere."
