Chapter 180 Get a Divorce Now
To prevent Levi and Eric from getting into another heated argument, I pulled Levi into the study for a private conversation.
Although Eric wasn't thrilled about it, he reluctantly stayed downstairs and didn't interfere after I gave him a pleading look.
I explained to Levi about my fake marriage and real partnership with Eric, even showing him our freshly issued marriage certificate.
"What?" Levi stared at the certificate like it was the end of the world.
"Jane, have you lost your mind?" he wailed dramatically.
I sighed, watching his over-the-top reaction. I patiently waited until he finally calmed down before explaining further.
"We're simply helping each other out. He's providing me with a lot of support, and
I don't feel like I'm losing anything in the deal. Besides, he already said that once everything settles, I can get a divorce whenever I want. My freedom is guaranteed."
Hearing this, Levi let out a deep sigh, and his expression grew solemn.
"Jane, you're too naive! I'm a man too, and I don't believe he's that generous. For
all we know, he's scheming something bigger! Don't trust him so easily! Jane, it's only your first day married to him. You should divorce him right now."
I burst into a fit of laughter. "Who the hell tells someone to get divorced the day of their wedding?"
"I'm just looking out for you!" Levi huffed righteously. "If you're going to fake a marriage, why not marry me instead? I may not be as powerful as him, but I can work hard! Besides, we know each other well, so we'd make a way better team."
Seeing his serious expression, I chuckled and waved my hand. "That won't do. It's because we know each other too well that we shouldn't mix business and personal matters."
I met his gaze with a sincere look. "I appreciate you worrying about me, but trust me, I know what I'm doing, okay? Just believe in me."
Levi's eyes flickered with hesitation. He seemed like he wanted to argue further, but after looking into my determined gaze, he finally nodded reluctantly. Still, he pursed his lips and warned me with seriouso concern.
"Jane, you have to protect yourself. If he ever tries anything sketchy, call me
immediately. I'll come to rescue you!"noveldrama
I nodded, feeling a warmth spread through my heart.
For the rest of the evening, Levi and I went over the work transition. He would now take over the studio's
management while I would focus et
solely on my designer role. Other than handling design projects for Flint Group, I wouldn't be involved in LunaGlo's operations anymore.
By the time everything was settled, the sun had almost set.
Levi and I walked downstairs together, and as expected, Eric had been waiting the whole time. The moment he saw me, he immediately came over.
Even though Levi wasn't happy about leaving, he had responsibilities at the studio and had no choice but to go. Before stepping out, he turned back to me, looking dead serious. "Jane, don't forget what I said."
Eric asked out of curiosity, "What did you tell her?"
Levi snorted and didn't even try to hide it from him. "I told her that if you ever try anything sketchy, I'll come over and beat the crap out of you."
Hearing this, Eric laughed and pulled me into his embrace right in front of Levi. His gaze gleamed with provocation. "If you aren't afraid me suing you for trespassing, please go ahead. Jane is my legally wedded wife now. Even if you scream and
де
cry, it's too late. Go home and cry
into your pillow instead."
I stared at Eric in shock, stunned by his unexpectedly vicious mockery. His
performance was off the charts.
When would these two ever stop fighting?
What do you think?
