The lawyer, who was handling Raelyn’s inheritance, approached Joelle with some documents.

“Mrs. Watson, there are a few papers here that need your review.”

Adrian’s pale face slowly came into view as his eyes fluttered open. His gaze immediately fell on the hands still clasped together.

His expression remained unreadable as he processed what he saw.

The words the lawyer had spoken echoed in his mind, and he wasn’t sure if it was a dream or reality, but the sight of the two of them still holding hands was far from the first thing he wanted to see after narrowly escaping death.
