Rejecting The Alpha Twins (Regan)

My Twins Baby 34

Xavier POV

Beta Johnathon's eyes were shilly as he entered the room, along with his wife Heather and his stepelaughter Isabelle, his lips tightening as my father motioned for him to remain standing where he was, near the doorway.

"What is this about Alpha Jackson?" he asked impatiently, while fought the urge to wrap my hands around his neck and teach him a lesson for being so disrespectful to our father.

My father regarded him silently for a long thoment. Isabelle looked worried and Heather was trying to catch my mother's eyes while she pointedly looked the other way, as though she was ashamed at what was about to happen. "It's come to our attention that you have been abusing Regan for the last few years. We have copies of her hospital records."

My father didn't bother to mince words. "How could you Johnathon? Your own daughter? Broken bones, fractures, the list goes on" he roaged in disgust, causing Heather and Isabelle to flinch from the loudness of his voice, while Xander and I shot each other a triumphant glance.

It was about time our father stood up to Beta Johnathon and showed him who was really in charge.noveldrama

"It's all lies" Beta Johnathon tried to say in protest, only for my father to hold up the folder in response, his eyes chilly as he stared at his old friend and longtime Beta.

"Do I need to use the Alpha tone on you?" my father's voice was cold. "On Heather, on Isabelle? Did you also hit Regan he growled, looking at both of the women who began to look increasingly nervous.

"Leave them out of it" Johnathon snarled stepping protectively in front of the women and staring hatefully at our father. "I was the one who did it. I beat Regan, constantly" he snapped "but she is the reason my mate died all those years ago and I retain the right to punish her for it, just like all the rest of you have done, no matter how much you stand there pretending you're not like me!"

"Punish her? This goes beyond punishment Johnathon," My father roared, standing up and towering over his so-called friend who trembled in the face of his wrath. "Regan is not to blame for her mother's death. It was an accident. A rogue incident. Nobody could have foreseen it coming he snarled. The patrol were taken completely by surprise that day, as were

we all

"She was never meant to be in that forest" Johnathon snapped bark, seething. "She knew the consequences and she still entered it. If it weren't for her, Celeste wouldn't have died trying to protect her from a rogue attack. Celeste would still be alive and I would never have had to feel the pain of losing a mate he shouted out, his voice going bleak

"Regan was a child" my father sounded incredulous as he studied Johnathon who looked as though he was beginning to lose it. "Have you been spreading this throughout the pack so that everybody blamed her?" he asked sickened.

"You made it sound as though it was intentional" I murmured, glancing at Xander and feeling my stomach churn as I realized just how far the Beta had gone to get his revenge on his daughter. "That she had purposely entered the woods, knowing rogues were attacking and putting herself and her mother in danger. But it sounds as though Regan didn't know about the rogues at all. So which is it, Beta Johnathon?" I asked, leaning forward and spearing him with a gaze, daring him to

tell the truth.

He floundered, "Well, the thing is. Who cares" he cried out in exasperation, causing all of us to look at him stunned. "Either way she deserves whatever she gets. You loved Celeste, we all did he turned to my mother, spreading his hands out and appealing to her. "Why else would you have remained silent all these years? You agreed with what I was doing" he sneered, deliberately raking his gaze over everybody in the room "nobody here objected to it, did they?" he pointed out

Heather looked slightly nauseous, and movement and bring any attention to herself.

"I was angry my mother confessed, her voice shaky, "and perluas I shouldn't have taken it our blame," she told my father, her voice harely above a whisper.

on Regan, but I am also to

"We never did discover why Regan went into the woods in the fist place I commented, thinking out loud and watching Beta Johnathon closely with narrowed eyes. "Regan is always so careful and cautious, it's hard to fathom why she would put herself in danger, let alone her mother without cause. Did she ever say why she went into the woods even when it was against your instructions?" I asked him, curious about the answer he might give.

Was it my imagination or did my mother blanch just now as I asked the question? I wasn't the only one to see it either. 1 narrowed my eyes. My father looked sharply at my mother his face questioning. She flushed and bit her lip. Even Beta Johnathon was looking at her now and looking taken aback. "Mother?" I said, tilting my head and staring at her hard, my voice filled with condemnation.

She looked pleadingly at my father, but something had occurred to him because his tone changed to that of his Alpha tone instantly before she could attempt to escape the room or make up some sort of fabricated lic.

"Tell us he ordered, and she was forced to obey, tears trailing down her cheeks, her sobs filling the air.

"I'm the reason Regan went into the forest that day. I told her that her mother had gone in there looking for her she whispered, bowing her head and staring fixedly at the ground

"Why?" my father demanded, looking confused.

Her gaze swung to Beta Johnathon and she looked at him beseechingly. My father used his tone again. She swallowed hard. "Because I knew the rogues were coming. The patrol had already warned me. I sent Regan into the forest to die" she confessed shakily, causing everybody in the room to let out a gasp of pure shock

"Why?" my father's expression was bewildered as he stared at my mother, as though seeing her forthe first time in at different light.

Why did Beta Johnathon look at my mother with realization dawning on his face?

"She saw us." The blunt admission caused all of us to still as she stared at Beta Johnathon. "Johnathon and 1. You were away and I was lonely" she hiccupped, tears continuing to trail down her cheeks. "It was just the one time, I swear, but Regan, she saw us through the window. I knew it was only a matter of time until she told her mother or you so

"You sent an innocent girl in the forest to die, because you slept with the Beta" I snarled, beyond disgusted with my own mother in that moment.

She had condemned a little girl to be murdered by rogues to save her own damn hide!

"I know it was wrong, but I couldn't think what else to do. Your father would have banished me and Johnathon. Celeste went into the forest after Regan, and it just happened. Regan couldn't remember who sent her into the forest and eventually, she became convinced she was the reason for her mother's death and I just allowed her to believe it" she confessed lowly.

"You killed my mate" Beta Johnathon was staring at my mother, an expression of betrayal on his face "And you almost killed my daughter just to save your sorry ass?" he roared, suddenly furious and looking on the verge of attacking her as Heather and labelle took a few steps backward in a hurry.

"To

ave both of us my mother shouted back at him in frustration. "I don't exactly see you coming clean with my i about what we did"

"Because I thought that there was no point once Celeste was dead Beta Johnathon hissed. "I figured it would only cause more trouble. You...you" he growled, his eyes going dark as he stared at my mother with menace in his eyes.

"Enough" my father roared, causing everybody to fall silent.

aged ten yearsdenly and weary as he stared at everybody in the room. My father looked as though he had suddenly

at that moment.

Heather was crying silently and even Isabelle was looking incredulous as she stared between the Luna and her father. She had not been privy to any of this information.

"I'm too close to all of this." My father was panting heavily as he turned to regard the two of us. "I can't oversee the punishments, because my wife is also responsible in part for Regan's abuse and for the death of a pack member. I'm sorry sons. But you'll have to step in this time" he rubbed his face, looking tired and filled with grief. "I can't even bear to look at you right now" he growled at our mother who sobbed harder and looked as though she was about to fling herself at him and beg for mercy.

A voice from the doorway had all of us stiffening while I felt dread rise inside of me. "You sent me into the forest that day and are the reason my mother was killed?"

Regan stood in the doorway, pale, shaking, her mouth parted in shock, her whole body trembling as she stared at every single one of us, looking haunted. She had heard every single word that had been spoken just now. How long had she been standing outside in the hallway, eavesdropping as we argued and accused each other? Right now she looked as though she was about to collapse as she regarded our mother and her father with nothing but pure hatred in her eyes. Things were about to get a lot more painful as Regan finally discovered who was responsible for everything she had suffered for the last few years, with her own mate's family being responsible for it all.
