The loud bang on my door jolted me awake, my heart racing in my chest. | sat up in bed, my muscles stiff and aching. | stretched, my bones creaking with the effort. It was dark outside, the only light coming from the moon, casting long shadows across the

room. | heard the bang again, more insistent this time. | got out of bed, wrapping my robe around me, and made my way to the door. “Who's there?” | called out, my voice trembling slightly.

There was no response, but the banging continued.

| stood up, my limbs feeling heavy and lethargic. | dragged my feet across the room to the door, opening it slowly. Aisha stood there, her face ashen and her eyes wide with. fear.

“What happened?” | asked, dread creeping up my spine. “We've just been attacked,” she said, her voice shaking.

We reached the basement, the darkness broken only by the flickering light of the fire. The children huddled together, their eyes wide with fear. | felt my terror rising within. me, but | forced myself to remain calm.

The sight before me was like something out of a nightmare. Bodies littered the ground, blood seeping into the grass. Men fought with swords and axes, screaming and shouting. Some in their wolf form, growling.

The smell of death and decay hung heavy in the air. | searched for Kex, my heart pounding in my chest.

And there he was, locked in battle with one of the enemy warriors. | could see that we were losing the fight, and my heart sank. | knew | had to do something, so I ran onto the battlefield, ignoring Kex’s shouts behind me.

My body surged with power, and | felt my bones shifting, my skin tearing as | changed into my wolf form.

I let out a blood—curdling howl, and | saw Kex’s eyes widen in shock. | charged at the nearest enemy warrior, my teeth bared and my claws out.

He screamed, his arms flailing as he tried to fight me off. | would not be deterred, my instincts taking over. | tore into him, my claws raking across his chest. | felt my bloodlust rising, and I turned to the next warrior, my body moving on instinct.

My eyes locked on the man who | suspected to be the Gamma, the second in command of the rogue pack. He stood near the Rogue King, his body coiled and ready to strike. | let out a low growl, my body tensed and ready to attack.

The two of us began to circle each other, our eyes never leaving the other. We were like two predators, sizing each other up, waiting for the moment to strike. The tension was thick, the air charged with energy. | could feel the sweat beading on my brow, my body. aching with anticipation.

He lunged at me, his claws outstretched. | ducked under his grasp, but he was quick, swiping at me again. | managed to dodge him once more, but he was persistent, determined to bring me down.

He took a running leap, and | braced myself for impact. | felt his weight hit me, knocking me to the ground. | struggled to push him off me, but he was too strong. | could feel his hot breath on my neck, his claws pressing into my flesh. | closed my eyes, waiting for the final blow.

But then, | heard a shout from the other side of the clearing. | turned, and | saw Kex and the Rogue King engaged in a fierce battle.

As | charged towards Kex and the Rogue King, | felt a sharp pain in my chest. | let out a yelp, my vision blurring. | looked down, and | saw an arrow protruding from my chest.
