Reborn From Oblivion

Chapter 741

On Greta's first day at the new hospital, Cameron was hit with a flurry of urgent calls from the family maid. Over the phone, she said, “Cameron, Miss is threatening a hunger strike and talking about ending it all. What do we do?"

Cameron looked at Greta, feeling torn and overwhelmed.

Greta reassured him, "Don't worry. Even if you don't go back, she's not going to follow through. She's just trying to get your sympathy and pull you away from me."

She added with a smirk, "It was my go-to trick back in the day. When you loved me, it worked like a charm."

"Cameron, it's kind of funny, isn't it? You were the one who fueled my antics."

Cameron had just stood up, but hearing Greta's words, he sank back into his chair.

He spoke into the phone, "Tell her to knock it off. I'm not indulging in this kind of manipulative behavior anymore."

Silence followed on the other end.

Cameron hung up, feeling a wave of relief.

Greta's lips curved into a pleased smile.

Meanwhile, at Dawson Manor, Nina sat on the rooftop edge, her feet dangling as she sang a sad tune to herself.

The maids were in a panic, some dialing the police, others calling emergency services. One maid shouted, "Get the master back here, quick!"

"I already called him. He said not to give in to this attention-seeking tactic; he won't cater to it."

"He's not coming? What if she really jumps?"

"He's sure she won't."

"Quick, call him on video, let him see for himself."

Nina heard the frantic voices around her and offered an apologetic smile. She

didn't like causing trouble. She just wanted to prove her father loved her. That was all.

When Cameron answered the video call, the maid's camera was already pointednoveldrama

at Nina.

Cameron saw Nina on the

wearing a bright red dress. He'd

heard those who die in red become vengeful spirits... His heart clenched with fear.

Greta continued her cynical commentary, "She won't jump, Cameron. Trust me. There's

still

spark in her eyes..."

But before she could finish, Nina

looked

sight into the camera,

Ked straight into the net

with

flashed a wicked smile.

"Daddy, I will never forgive you."

Cameron read her lips, and his heart tightened with dread.

In a heartbeat, Nina leaped off the edge without warning.

"No!" Greta screamed.

"How could she?"

Cameron's face went pale as he turned to Greta, furious, "Is this what you meant by she wouldn't jump?"

He grabbed his coat and dashed out.

Greta was incredulous, "No, she wasn't supposed to jump. What went wrong?"

At the Dawson estate, Cameron arrived just as the paramedics did.

From a distance, he saw Nina sprawled on the ground, motionless.

His heart felt like it was being ripped apart, the pain making it hard to breathe.

"Nina, how could you?" he murmured in disbelief.

She lay there like a butterfly with broken wings, completely still.

Cameron's heart felt as if it was being squeezed by an invisible hand, the pain so intense it took his breath away.
