Eleanor frowned, about to refuse, when suddenly a large hand appeared in front of her. It snatched the thermos away. "No need. My Ellie doesn't eat this kind of junk," the newcomer said. It was Felix, his face dark with anger.
Felix had just arrived at school when he was called to the teacher's office, leaving Eleanor to go to the classroom alone. He'd only been gone for five minutes, and already Brock was messing with his sister. What irked Felix even more was that Brock had been looking to settle a score with his sister just yesterday. And now he's suddenly all eager to help? He must've seen Ellie in the grové yesterday and gotten ideas, Felix thought, his face clouding over at the notion of someone eyeing his sister.
In his mind's eye, the jock before him looked more like some trashy punk on the street.
Brock, caught off guard by Felix's sudden appearance, exploded. "Who the hell are you?" He snarled. "What gives you the right to stick your nose in? 'Your Ellie?' I'll knock you into next week, you little="
Midway through his rant, Brock caught Eleanor's warning glance. Remembering her earlier admonition against fighting, he backpedaled hard. "Just wait till I tell the teacher about this," he stammered.
The childish threat hung in the air, making Brock sound more like a tattling kid than the tough guy he was trying to be.
Felix fixed him with an icy stare. "She's my sister. I'm sixth in line in the Vanderbilt family. Who the hell do you think I am?" Brock froze, his mind racing. 'Sixth in the Vanderbilt family? He's Angel's brother! Was I just mouthing off to Angel's brother? Wait... Something isn't right!
He distinctly remembered that Eleanor's sixth brother wasn't named Felix, and he looked nothing like this guy. Plus, Felix wasn't the one who'd messed with his basketball yesterday.
'Heh, what a liar, Brock thought to himself, a surge of confidence rushing through him. He tilted his chin up defiantly and shot back, "Don't try to fool me. I've met Angel's sixth brother before, and he's way better looking than you. Who do you think you are, pretending to be Angel's brother? Take a good look in the mirror before you try that again."
His words left everyone stunned. Felix turned to Eleanor, his face a picture of disbelief and betrayal. "No wonder you didn't talk to me in the car this morning. You've got a lap dog out there, haven't you?"
Eleanor was at a loss for words. She hadn't spoken that morning because she was catching up on sleep. Still, Eleanor couldn't help but roll her eyes at Felix's wild leap of logic.
Rubbing her temples in exasperation, she replied, "Felix, I spend all day solving problems with you. When would I even have time to find someone else?"
Eleanor sighed inwardly, 'Besides, even if I wanted a lap dog, I doubt anyone's lining up for the job."All content © N/.ôvel/Dr/ama.Org.
Felix pondered this carefully, realizing it was true. These past few days, he'd been constantly by Eleanor's side and hadn't seen her getting close to anyone.
This realization put him at ease.
Just then, Brock, standing in front of them, suddenly spotted something. He excitedly raised his hand, waving happily at someone behind them with a beaming smile. "Hey, Felix! Over here!"
This time, not only Felix was stunned, but Eleanor was also shocked beyond belief. They wondered if there could really be someone with the same name in this school.
Curious, they both turned around, only to lock eyes with Liam, who was voraciously devouring a sandwich.

Startled by their sudden gaze, Liam flinched. He forgot to chew the mouthful of sandwich he'd just taken, swallowing it whole. The poorly-timed gulp left him choking and rolling his eyes.
Brock, hovering nearby, snatched the thermos from Felix. He quickly poured a generous helping of the steaming soup and thrust it towards Liam with an eager-to-please grin. "Here you go, man. Get this down you."
Liam barely registered who was offering the bowl. His eyes locked onto the liquid like it was salvation itself. He grabbed it and chugged half the contents before he could catch his breathThanks, bro," he mumbled, still dazed.
But when Liam finally realized who had handed him the soup, he stumbled backward, pointing a shaky finger at Brock. "Wait a sec... You? Did you slip something in this?"
Panic gripped him as he tried to force himself to vomit. His mind raced with suspicion. After all, it was just yesterday that he'd put Brock's basketball out of commission. He figured this had to be payback.
Brock, still basking in the joy of being called "bro" by Eleanor's brother, frantically shook his head. "No, no, of course not! How could I possibly drug you? You're Angel's brother, which makes you my brother too!"
He plastered on a fake smile, his voice oozing insincerity. "Look, we had a little misunderstanding yesterday. I had no idea you were so into popping basketballs, Felix. We've got plenty at home. If you like, I'll bring them all over on a tricycle tomorrow. You can pop to your heart's content."
Liam stood there, speechless. 'Is this guy for real?'
At this point, Felix and Eleanor finally caught on to what was happening.
Felix furrowed his brow, too tired to watch them bicker. "This is ridiculous," he muttered. "Come on, Ellie. Let's ignore them and get to class."
He grabbed Eleanor's wrist, ready to enter the classroom. But before he could take a single step, a powerful force yanked him back. The next thing he knew, his body slammed against the wall with a loud thud.
Brock gripped Felix's shirt tightly, his teeth clenched and eyes blazing with warning. "Who said you could put your hands on her?" he growled. "Did you think I was joking when I warned you earlier?"
Felix's back slammed against the wall, the impact knocking the wind out of him. "Back off." He wheezed.
Brock's jaw clenched as he maintained his iron grip on Felix's collar.
The commotion snapped Eleanor back to reality. Her face drained of color. Without hesitation, she rushed forward and chopped at Brock's hand, forcing him to release Felix. "Gosh, are you alright? Where did you hit?" she asked nervously, supporting him. Felix, dazed for only a moment, quickly regained his composure. He waved his hand, signaling Eleanor not to worry. "I'm fine."
Still concerned, Eleanor tried to lead him away. "No, we should get you to the infirmary."
Felix offered a reassuring smile. "It's okay. I just hit my back. My head's fine."
Seeing his insistence, Eleanor reluctantly gave in. She turned to face Brock, her voice as cold as ice. "Brock, as a student at Aloria High School, you're expected to follow the school's rules. I'm neither your teacher nor your parent, so it's not my place to discipline you. "But let me make this clear - if you ever bother anyone close to me again, I won't hesitate to teach forget."

Brock froze, stunned by her icy glare. It dawned on him that he had seriously angered Eleanor. A chill ran down his spine, and his lips trembled as he spoke. "I'm sorry. I just lost my temper. It won't happen again, I promise..."

Growing up, Brock had always been the tyrant at home, with few people able to rein him in. Even at school, teachers rarely disciplined him due to his family's status. This upbringing had instilled in him a tendency to resort to violence when upset. This was the first time Brock had ever apologized. It was also the first time he had ever felt afraid.
As Eleanor turned away without another word and entered the classroom, Brock stood rooted to the spot, at a complete loss. He wanted to call out to her but couldn't muster the courage to open his mouth.
