Chapter 1402
He walked down the stairs and got on.
The electric bike was small to begin with and looked even smaller after Corentin got onto it.
Ashlynn handed him a helmet that was his size.
Once the two had their helmets on, she started the electric bike and drove away with the Bently following closely behind.
The bike marched forward on the bike lane and wind blew through their faces. The scent of sunlight and dust reminded them of the time when they were in the slum.
Slightly moved, Corentin wrapped his arms around Ashlynn’s slim waist and propped his chin onto her shoulder. “Thinking about the past?”
“You are probably sick of going around in cars as well, right? Isn’t it good to relive the past every once in a while?” She said, “If you are the one driving the bike, others would probably think you are weird, but if I’m driving…”
He interrupted her and said, “I’m still on it, so I’m still weird.”
She pursed her lips and slowed down on purpose. “Your car is right behind us. If you don’t want to be - here, I can let you down.”
The next instant, Corentin placed his hands on her and pressed on the accelerator, changing the speed from 30 km/hour to 40 km/hour.Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org exclusive © material.
The electric bike charged though the road, pasting one traffic light after another. As they were waiting for the light to turn green, other riders glanced at the beautiful couple. Noticing that the man had his arms tightly around the woman’s waist, there was no doubt that they were a loving couple.
A couple with their looks made riding an electric bike seem so luxurious.
The others could not help but glance at the electric bike, wondering if they should have bought this brand
instead.
Though the others were rather subtle, Ashlynn could still feel their eyes on her and darted off as soon as the light turned green.
Corentin chuckled. “Why are you blushing?”
“I’m not as shameless as you are.”
“Pick me up from work every day from now on,” he requested.
“What?”
“We can go home like this every day.”
She scowled. “This is just a rare occasion. I will be exhausted to pick you up like this every day.”
“It’s settled.”
Ashlynn knew that Corentin would not be appalled by the idea of riding an electric bike, but she did not expect him to get addicted to the feeling.
She supposed that it brought back memories of when they lived in the slum.
Just then, Corentin’s phone vibrated and he took it out to glance at the screen. “What?”
“… Why is it so noisy on your end? Where are you?” Cory was about to speak when he was interrupted by
the noises.
“I’m on the road.”
“Come by for dinner. Take Ashlynn with you as well,” Cory said.
“Alright.”
After hanging up, Cory was just confused about all the noises that sounded like wind blowing past Corentin at high speed.
