Chapter 480
Conversely, Nadine had been extremely cold to Brad, even going so far as to post the divorce papers online, leaving him feeling completely at a loss. So, he turned to Alex and Sammy for advice.
Alex said, "There's only one thing you can do! Whether it works or not is entirely up to you. Be shameless! No matter what she does or how much she yells at you, don't fight back. Just stick to her like glue, and follow her wherever she goes. Trust me, even the iciest hearts will melt if you hold out long enough!"
Taking Alex's advice to heart, Brad returned home in high spirits. He got a good night's sleep, got up early the next morning, shaved, and even styled his hair.
Knowing that Nadine would visit his grandfather, he arrived at the hospital before her and waited. Sure enough, Nadine showed up right after him.
Brad was standing so close to Nadine that she could smell the faint earthy scent on him. Their arms touched, and she felt so awkward. She hurriedly moved aside to avoid any more physical contact with the man.
Just then, Brad inhaled sharply. It was loud enough to catch the attention of everyone in the room.
Sean was the first to realize something was up. He looked at him innocently and asked, "What's wrong, Daddy? Are you feeling sick?"
It was often said that absence made the heart grow fonder. Even though he didn't particularly like his father, he still needed him. It had been days since he'd seen Brad, and he found himself missing him.
Brad was pleased with the child's concern. He purposefully drew attention to the small cut on his lip, ensuring that everyone-especially Nadine saw it.
Without looking at Nadine, he turned to Sean and said, "There was a bad guy at your mommy's workplace yesterday. I jumped in to help her and got hurt."
His tone was steady and composed, with not the slightest hint of accusation toward Nadine. If anything, he sounded like he was looking out for her.
Adam was particularly pleased. He glanced at his grandson out of the corner of his eye and felt a lot better. It seemed like the little rascal had finally come to his senses. He did something right and knew how to take credit for it. Maybe he wasn't as dense as Adam thought.
Sean's eyes widened when he heard his father got hurt saving his mom. He gave
Brad a big thumbs up. "You're so cool, Daddy! You're the bravest!"
Brad couldn't help but smile at the child's praise. He gently pinched Sean's raised thumb and chuckled "As the man of the house, you have to learn to protect Mommy too! Don't let anything happen tocher, okay?" sŵnovel
Sean nodded earnestly. "Okay! I'll protect Mommy!"noveldrama
Nadine observed their exchange and couldn't help but feel as though something was off. Yet, she couldn't quite put her finger on it. In any case, Brad was acting strange that day this was completely out of character for him. What was this jerk
up to now?
Nadine was lost in thought when Sean called out, "Mommy, Daddy's lip is
bleeding! Aren't you going to help him make it better?"
He then reached out and touched the area around Brad's wound, his eyes full of
concern as he asked, "Does it hurt, Daddy?"
What do you think?
