Please Come Back, Honey!

Chapter 170

Chapter 170

Trevor originally didn't think much of a broken mug, but when he saw Emma almost bursting into tears, he hastily apologized, "Sorry, I was going to wash the dishes, but my hands were too slippery, so I accidentally broke the mug…"

"Trevor, why are you always messing things up?!" Emma shouted furiously, then turned around to find the tools she could pick up the pieces with. NôvelDrama.Org owns © this.

Reprimanded, Trevor stood silently where he was, taking a deep breath to calm his emotions.

Always messing things up?

No one has ever said such things about me!

He did everything perfectly at work. Under his leadership, Bateson Group had developed twice its size, and it was no longer the Bateson Group that depended on Thomas.

This was also why Trevor never thought much of Thomas all this while.

However…

As Trevor gazed at the woman who had reappeared in his line of sight, carrying the tools with her, he couldn't help but ponder. It’s as if… I failed in my marriage.

He lost the woman who was supposed to be his. So, now that he got scolded by her, he probably

deserved it.

Emma tossed the pieces into the dustbin. Trevor reached out and grabbed her arm, then promised her in all seriousness, "I'll buy you a new one."

After thinking for a bit, he added, "You can choose from all the best coffee mugs in the world."

No matter how expensive it might be, he would buy it for her.

Emma shrugged him off, annoyed. "I bought this abroad, and it was one of its kind when I bought it. There is no mug like it!"

Also, does he think he can buy everything with money?

At that thought, Emma couldn't help but say, "Broken things can never be restored, and things lost will never return. Never mind, it doesn't matter anymore. You have to make room for new things in your life, I guess." She was sick of him and his attitude.

Emma was comforting herself, but when Trevor heard her words, he thought that every sentence she said was stabbing at his heart.

She was talking about the mug, but he felt that she was talking about their relationship instead.

Things lost would never return.

"Well, then, the esteemed Mr. Bateson, if you're done with breakfast, then please leave right now,

okay?" Emma didn't want him around for even a second longer.

With her look of disdain directed at him, Trevor silently left her house.

Emma closed the door and went back to the kitchen. She squatted by the dustbin and gazed woefully at her mug for the last time, then sighed lightly.

It was then that Emma suddenly remembered what Trevor had said.

He was going to do the dishes? Are pigs going to have wings soon?

A pampered man like Trevor actually wants to wash the dishes? He'd better not. He's too good at destroying things.

No, he'd better not come for meals anymore. My plates and cups won't be able to endure his capability to destroy.

Emma swore that she would never let Trevor stay for meals ever again.

After leaving Emma’s unit, Trevor got back into his car and thought for a while, then decided to call Susanna.

Except for days when work required her to wake up early, Susanna would usually be sleeping at this hour.

So, when she answered the call, she was seriously annoyed as she complained, "Who is it? Calling me so early in the morning…"

Trevor tried to be patient as he said, "It's me, Trevor."

"Trevor?" Susanna mumbled, then immediately shouted in a completely woken-up voice, "Don't tell me you bullied Emma again?"

Trevor was speechless. To Susanna, was he a man only capable of bullying Emma?

However, when he thought about it, he had broken Emma's mug, so it did seem like he was bullying her.

So, he could only say, "I broke one of her mugs, and I want to ask if you have any photos of that mug. I want to buy another one for her."

As soon as Trevor finished speaking, Susanna immediately burst out laughing, seemingly glad at his misfortune. "Trevor, you're done for! Emma is most fond of collecting all sorts of cutlery. The cups and plates and bowls in her house are her precious treasures, but you actually broke one of them! She’s probably going to block you soon! Hah!"

Trevor's face fell when he heard Susanna's words. How could he go back for meals in the future?

However, Susanna wasn't exaggerating things. As Emma's friend for years, she knew Emma too well.

Moreover, people who were good at cooking usually had an affinity for tableware, and it was no different for Emma. When they went shopping, Emma wouldn't budge when she saw tableware she liked. It was obvious how much she treasured the ones she bought.

Susanna said kindly, "Her items are usually one of a kind. You can't buy the exact same one anywhere."

Using the tableware as a front, Susanna continued meaningfully, "Also, even if you found an identical one, it won't be the one she used to own. This is the same for relationships. One can no longer return to the past." Susanna clicked her tongue thoughtfully at the end, her words cruelly hitting the bullseye on Trevor's broken heart.

Trevor gripped his phone tightly as he replied, "Since we can no longer return to the past, I'll start over so that she will fall in love with the new mug again."

He also wanted her to fall in love with the new Trevor, the Trevor who changed for her and would treat her well in the future.

Susanna didn't expect Trevor to be this stubborn, and she could also understand that Trevor was hinting that he wanted to start over with Emma.

Susanna wasn't too optimistic about it, and she was honest with Trevor about it. "Mr. Bateson, I'm not trying to discourage you, but I'm just telling you my truest thoughts. When she needed your love, you only gave her broken glass. When she wants to focus on work, you're trying to force love on her instead. Do you think this is appropriate?"

Susanna's words were heartless, but they accurately described the current situation between Trevor and Emma.

Trevor announced proudly, "I can help her achieve great things in both work and love."

Susanna was at a loss for words, for she had never seen Trevor so shameless before. She said those words as satire toward him that he had already missed Emma by a mile.

However, he actually said that he could help Emma achieve success in both work and love. She was amazed at his confidence.

Susanna asked him, "Are you serious?"

"Of course," Trevor replied earnestly.

Susanna continued, "Since you're so serious about it, describe what that broken mug looked like. I'll see if I can find a photo of it."

Trevor described it. "Complicated blue patterns, with a gold rim."

Susanna clicked her tongue. "Okay, I know which one you're talking about. I have nothing to say about your luck, though. She brought it all the way home from abroad."

"I'll send you the photo later. All the best." With that, Susanna hung up.

Trevor soon received the photo Susanna sent to him. It was obviously a screenshot from Emma's post on Instagram. She once made her own snacks for tea, and she made a mug of coffee to go with it, and the mug was that exact one he broke.

Trevor originally thought that he could scour Emma's Instagram for that too, but he was currently blocked.
