Once Betrayed Never Forgotten

Chapter 55

Chapter 55: The Price

Aleksandr…. that prick! I can’t believe he used me like that, all just to make a point for Luka’s sake, to prove something g and put his servant in his place “Angry” doesn’t cut it – I am absolutely furious, seeing red,

From now on, Aleksandr is off–limits. I won’t be falling for his charms again. To be honest, I know it’s probably for the best what we’ve been doing in just plain wrong.

What would my mom think if she knew me and her new brother in law were getting hot and heavy? She’d be mortified. Aleksandr and I are practically family now, and sneaking around fucking eachother in secret is pretty messed up.

Plus, there’s the age gap, which is complicated, because it’s not just a typical eighteen year old girl with a thirty five old man scenario. He’s not just double my age. At seven hundred years old, he’s more like twenty times my age. Still, I can’t help being turned on by the chance of getting caught, the risk, the naughtiness and the taboo. I feel guilty about it, but not guilty enough to stop wanting him. And when he made me call him Master… that was so fucking hot. Because he’s forbidden and off–limits, I want him more. But it really hurt releasing that the reason he was fooling around with me was just to put Luka in his place. He left a love bite on my neck as a way of marking me as his own, just to piss off his rival Text © by N0ve/lDrama.Org.

Fuck that.

Once things have settled down, I should stick to my original plan of leaving the Castle of Endless Night and going back to continue my life in California. I’ll make up with Mom, and leave on good terms, and I’ll forget all about the supernatural world and stupid Aleksandr Vasilies. I can’t believe I let myself think he might actually like me… or have feelings for me….

“FUCK YOU ALEKSANDRI 1 scream helplessly at the ceiling, fighting back tears. “I HATE E YOU! FUCK FUCK FUCK YOU TO HELLI”

“Well that’s no way to show gratitude towards your saviour,” a familiar female voice says, almost causing me to have a heart attack.

Anya steps out of the shadows at the far end of the room, accompanied by her servant Seraphina. I’d ask them how they got in here, through the locked door, but by now I’m used to Members of the Vasilev family and their household staff showing up out of nowhere as if by magit

“I thought I should come by and check on how you are recovering, but I see now that it is unnecessary,” Anya says conly, her beautiful face cold and expressionless, with the slightest hint of distaste. “You seem to have your strength back. I suppose you’ll be wanting to leave for America soon?”

“No shit,” I say sarcastically, sitting up in bed and drawing my silk dressing gown tighter around my body in reaction to the sudden icy chill in the

room.

Seraphina smiles sweetly at me, and I have to fight the urge to smile back at her. She might look like an innocent little girl, but I’ve realised now that she’s anything but. She’s just as much of a heartless bloodsucking monster as the rest of them. And as usual, her mistress looks beautiful and regal. Anya’s long grey hair is coiled into a magnificent braid atop her head today, dotted with a constellation of tiny red rubies like a cloud of twinking “crimson stardust. She wears a pitch black floor length gown embroidered with tiny red stors and moons, an entire galaxy rippling across the graceful

curves of her immortal body.

“Your disdain for my son is quite unnecessary,” she says airily. “You do know that he saved you from certain death, correct?”

“Well, yeah,” I say, feeling guilty and self–conscious all of a sudden. “But it’s not like he really had to do that much. All he did was sepop in, bunch of bad guys, which I’m sure he loved doing by the way, and then he gave me some of his blood to drink. Not such a big-ask.”

“UNGRATEFUL IMBECILE!” Anya snaps. “You have no idea the price he paid

“Well, tell me then,” I counter.

kill

“When it comes to fully restoring and healing a human life on the brink of death, not just any blood will do,” Anya replies, her voice glacial. “Aleksandr had you drink his life blood – the blood directly from his unbeating heart, the most precious mann in all of existence. This is blood that can never be replaced or replenished. He stabbed himself in the heart with a silver dagger in order to obtain this blood, and the wound will never heal, so long as your own heart keeps beating. He will suffer for decades, existing in terrible pain until the day you inevitably shed your mortal coil. That is the price he paid. What do you have to say for yourself?”

To say I’m shocked is an understatement. Aleksandr did that for me? What?! Why?

“And furthermore,” Anya continues, really laying into me now, “this entire situation is your fault. Foolish girl, running away to that accursed village and making us all worry. Your poor mother wept for days, she was inconsolable. What on earth were you thinking?”

I have no answer, so I just shake my head.

Chapter 55: The Price

“Well, you have the survival instincts of a lemming, my dear, and now my son is paying the price,” Anya says Irritably.

“How was 1 meant to know the villagers were like that?* 1 dare to ask, meeting her cold gaze as tears form in my eyes. “No one warned me.”

We shouldn’t have needed to,” Anya says.

*No one tells me anything.” I continue, the tears nowe pouring down my checks, “I barely know anything about your family, about this castle, about the village. Why are the villagers trapped in a weird mediarval time loop? Why do they hate your family so much? What did you do to them?”

Anya just cocks an eyebrow, and turns to address Seraphina.

“Well, that concludes this conversation,” she says coldly. “Come, Sera- there are

other more important matters to

to attend to, elsewhere in the castle.”

“You can’t keep me in the dark forever!” I yell at her, but it’s too late. She and her loyal servant have already vanished into thin air.

I’m angrier than ever, and determined to find out the truth they’ve been hiding from me.

I need answers, and I think I might know just where to get them.

The library.

Carbon Frank

I’m getting annoyed with her. Just leave already and go back to California. You don’t need to be a Sherlock Holmes and put your nose into everything. Mind your business and move on. Your stupidity for chasing after a toxic/ forbidden relationship is befuddling sigh
