Chapter 598
Chapter 598
Hudson grinned, pleased that Lucy was happy.
Lucy stepped into her workspace and eagerly looked all around.
"This is amazing!" she exclaimed with delight.
"If you like it, that's perfect. When I was picking out the decor, I wasn't sure what you'd prefer, so I went with something simple. I've seen your early work, and it's all pretty straightforward, so I figured you'd enjoy this style."Content held by NôvelDrama.Org.
Lucy listened to Hudson and could not help but be impressed by how thoughtful he was.
"Thanks, Mr. Xender. I didn't realize you were so detail-oriented," she said with a smile.
After a bit of time admiring the new office room, Hudson invited Lucy to grab a bite to eat at the restaurant downstairs.
"Ms. Quinn, can I ask you something a bit personal?" Hudson's eyes twinkled with mischief.
Feeling intrigued, Lucy nodded. "Go ahead, Mr. Xender."
"How do you put up with Matthew's super serious expression all the time?" Hudson asked, grinning at Lucy.
Lucy laughed, then said, "Oh, Matthew's actually really sweet at home and super kind to me. He's just not that great at showing his feelings, and he comes off a bit chilly to people he doesn't know well."
"I can see that," Hudson agreed.
They spent some time in the restaurant, sharing stories and laughs.
Back at Matthew's company, Matthew was in his office, peering out the window at the sights below.
Someone was at the door.
"Come in," he called out.
"Mr. Leon, we've got nothing on that mystery investor. No leads at all," Kent said, standing there and feeling the chill in the room grow even stronger as he looked at Matthew's imposing figure.
Matthew peered out the window, his eyebrows knitting together slightly. His eyes were as cold as ice.
"Go check on Sunrise Group," he said
firmly. "I'm pretty sure they're tied up in this. The project we're working on is really important. We can't afford any slip-ups, and if something does go wrong, it can't touch our area!"
Kent could not help but shiver when he heard Matthew's serious tone. He nodded quickly and said, "Yes, Mr. Leon." "Hold on a second."
Kent was on his way out when Matthew stopped him.
"How did Mrs. Leon's meeting with Hudson go today?" Matthew asked, turning to face Kent.
l
Kent was about to answer when he caught Matthew's piercing gaze. He quickly looked down again. "Mrs. Leon had a good time with Mr. Xenden She's probably having lunch at the restaurant in Mr. Xender's office building right now."
At the mention of lunch, Matthew's eyes seemed to drift off for a moment. Then, he grabbed his coat and headed for the door.
"Kent, get down here and drive!" Matthew called out without turning around as he walked past Kent.
"Oh man, why is it always me?" Kent mumbled to himself, feeling a whirlwind of emotions.
He hurried after Matthew and got
into the driver's seat. Matthew sat quietly in the back, his gaze fixed the road ahead. Every time Kent
glanced at him in the rear est

mirror, he felt a shiver run down his spine.
However, there was nothing to be done. Kent just had to put up with his unease and keep driving to Hudson's office building.
When Matthew arrived at the office building, he stepped out of the car and spotted a restaurant with big windows that stretched from the floor to the ceiling. Up on the second floor, he could see Lucy and Hudson.
