Chapter77 Family Pass
Family Pass
The weather in August was unpredictable. Dark clouds finally covered the scorching sun. It was bitter
hot.
Bonny insisted on having Richard in the same car with her.
"Daddy, Mommy's car is very nice." Bonny held Richard's hand, acting like a spoilt child outside the
restaurant. No one could resist her when she behaved like that.
Richard had no choice but to let Ted drive his car home.
Pearl smiled hesitantly and asked, "Um, are you sure you're going to take my car?"
Richard misunderstood Pearl's meaning. He thought she was unwilling to let him take her car. His face
darkened as he asked, "Why? How expensive is your car? Do you think I can't afford a ride in it?"
"That's not what I mean." Pearl didn't know how to explain it. "Forget it. Don't blame me later on. I've
reminded you already." Content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.
Pearl's car was parked inside the University. Pearl and Richard each held one child as they went
looking for the car on campus. After they finally found it, Richard understood why Pearl was awkward
just now.
The Mini Cooper was a bit hard for Richard whose height was 185 cm to get inside.
"Why not drive your own car?" Pearl awkwardly asked.
The two children had already climbed into the back seat. Bonny was waving at Richard and said,
"Daddy, quickly get in. It's hot standing there."
Richard glanced at Pearl and got into the car.
Seeing this, Pearl hopped in the driver's seat and turned on the ignition.
The tiny white car then drove out of the university. The corners of Pearl's eyes peered at Richard as
she said, "Feel free to adjust the seat if it's narrow for you."
"No need." Richard frowned. After remaining silent for a few seconds, he asked, "Why did you buy this
car?"
"It's a second-hand from my friend, so it's cheaper."
The truth about the car was not as simple as Pearl had said, but she was too lazy to explain it. She
wouldn't have bought it if he hadn't lied to her that it was a second-hand.
Richard frowned even more. "You lack money?"
"No, I'm doing fine. But I have to save money for my kids."
Thinking of the two children, a hint of worry flashed across Richard's eyes.
It wasn't easy for a normal family to raise a child, not to say a single mother who had two children.
But Richard didn't probe further.
After half an hour, the car reached the zoo. The skies were even darker now, but it was still not raining.
There was a long queue in front of the ticketing booth. It was Saturday, so many parents took their
children to the zoo.
Pearl rushed towards the booth and asked, "Hi, could you please give me two tickets for adults and two
for children."
The woman at the booth eyed her and said, "Then you can have a family pass instead."
"A family pass?"n.
"The family pass allows access to the zoo as well as a 30-minute boat ride. Only 299 dollars. It should
be the better way."
Richard stood next to her, holding Bonny in his arms. Pearl was too awkward to say that she wanted a
family pass, but people queued behind started to be impatient.
"What take you so long?"
"Let us go first if you aren't buying. We've been queueing for a long time!"
Other people started to make a fuss as well.
"I'll take the family pass. Thanks!" Pearl said.
Pearl took the pass after paying the money. She tightly held the pass and her fingers were blocking the
words "Family Pass", afraid that Richard might see it.
A staff took Pearl's pass and scanned it on a machine, which loudly announced "Family Pass, Four
People Package 01" from its speaker.
Pearl's expression froze. She hurriedly avoided Richard, not knowing what to say.
Richard took the lead to enter the zoo with the kids, while Pearl followed them behind.
It became even more embarrassing when the machine announced the same thing for four times.
After that, Pearl quickly grabbed the pass from the staff. She soon found that she was so stiff that she
couldn't even walk smoothly.
Richard was holding Bonny's hand as he stared at her in the distance. Seeing that she didn't even dare
to raise her head, he secretly smiled.
Pearl touched her neck as her head remained lowered, lowly uttering, "The staff told me that a family
pass is cheaper and we can go boating. I don't mean anything else."
"So, are you saying that you want to row a boat with me?" Richard said.
"What?" Hearing this, Pearl suddenly raised her head, stunned.
That wasn't what she had meant.
She wasn't given any other choices by the staff!
Before she could find an appropriate answer to explain, Bonny had already got impatient. She grabbed
Richard's arm and urged, "Daddy, let's go see the tiger!"
Richard was dragged along by Bonny, and Brandon followed them closely behind, leaving Pearl
standing at the same spot for a while before she packed up the courage to follow them.
What on hell was going on?
The Tiger World was always the most bustling place in the zoo. When the four of them arrived, the
venue was already full of people. A staff handed a pass card to each of them.
"It's for the lucky draw. The lucky winner and his or her group can get a photo with our tiger."
"Really?" Bonny excitedly clutched her badge tightly. "Yay! I can have a photo with the tiger!"
But the whole venue was crowded with people. If a person was not tall enough, he or she could not see
the tiger at all.
"I can't even see it." Bonny pouted and kept jumping on the ground, feeling particularly aggrieved.
Richard rubbed her forehead and gently asked, "Do you wanna see the tiger?"
"Of course I want!"
As soon as she gave her words, Richard picked her up and let her sit on his shoulder.
Richard was almost 190 centimeters tall. With Bonny sitting on his shoulder, he now became the centre
of attention at the venue.
"Wow! I can see it now!" Bonny pointed at the direction of the tigers, smiling sweetly.
The other children who could not see the tigers got jealous of Bonny. So they asked to sit on their
parents' shoulders as well.
Pearl's gaze was also filled with a rare sense of warmth as she looked at the smiling Bonny on
Richard's shoulder,
It would be nice they could be like this forever.
