Gud Wife 20

"Maximus, please, don't take my daughter away from me! Please!"
Maximus woke up suddenly from his brief nap and immediately grabbed his wife's hand to wake her up. It seemed like she was having a nightmare.
"Mary, wake up! Calm down, wake up, everything's okay!" he said, gently shaking her.
She opened her eyes and looked at him with distrust. She didn't realize she had been talking in her sleep. A tear was rolling down from the corner of her eye.
"What are you doing here? Wasn't I clear? I don't want you taking care of me! Get out!" Mary yelled.
"I woke you up because you were having a nightmare, but if my presence bothers you that much, I'll leave."
"Go! I don't want to see you! Get out! Go to hell! You deserve that and more!" Mary shouted in despair. Maximus, seeing the state his wife was in, decided to leave the room. The shouting had alerted a passing nurse, who entered the room to see what was happening. She came in just as Maximus was le
"Sir, do you not understand your wife's condition? Why are you upsetting her like this? I could hear the yelling from the hallway."
Maximus just stepped out into the hallway, where he ran into the chief doctor, who was responding to the nurse's call.
"What happened?" the doctor asked.
"I don't know, doctor. I was walking by the hallway and heard the yelling, so I came in. My wife is very upset."
"Administer a sedative through her IV; otherwise, she could hurt herself."
"Yes, doctor."
After ensuring his patient had finally succumbed to the medication, the doctor walked out, his expression. serious.
"Mr. Palmer, can we talk?" the doctor said, gesturing to a room down the hall.
"Yes, what is it?" Maximus replied curtly.
They entered the doctor's office, which smelled pleasant and was perfectly-lit, with a view of the gardens.
"Mr. Palmer, I don't want to interfere in your marital issues, but I've observed that your wife doesn't
handle your presence well. I won't question that, but it's crucial to consider what is triggering such drastic mood swings in her."
I think you ARE interfering
"Mr. Palmer, what your wife did wasn't a mere tantrum or a stunt. It took a lot to bring her back. You
may not know the procedures, but honestly, five or six more minutes and your wife wouldn't be lying in that hospital bed. Is that really what you want?"noveldrama
No Maximus replied.
"Then it's important that you think about her health and emotional stability. I don't mean to pry, but I ask you to consider what's best for her."
"What do you mean? What do you want me to do?" Maximus asked, his tone now softer.
"I think it would be beneficial for her to take some time to process everything she's been through and what led her to this point. Maybe spending more time with her would help, or maybe not. Only you two can figure that out."
Maximus left the doctor's office more confused than ever. He couldn't get the doctor's words out of his head: "Five or six minutes, and your wife wouldn't be lying in that room." Did he really want Mary dead? "No, I don't want that!" he said out loud.
Just minutes ago, he had remembered how his wife was when they first met. Despite not having the best life, she always smiled. She was sweet and always cheerful. He couldn't pinpoint when his wife's demeanor had changed, but it must have been a long time ago. He had never taken the time to notice how this flower had withered until it reached this inflexible point.
