My Heart only Beats for You (Natalie Godfrey)

Chapter 2232

Chapter 2232

The father and daughter pair didn't think Yesseca came to check on Celine but that she had wanted to break her promise, not wanting to give the patisserie away anymore now that Celine was out of danger.

Yesseca was rendered speechless.

She didn't even say anything about the shop and yet the pair were already pointing fingers.

Meanwhile, Preslie, who had been unaware of their agreement, was baffled.

What store to who?

What were they talking about?!

Just as she was about to ask, Calter pulled out a piece of paper, pointing at it. "Take a good look at it. This is your handwriting! It's legally bound. You have to get the transfer procedures done by tonight. Your shop belongs to us now."

Preslie looked at the piece of paper and felt all the blood in her body rush to her head.

She couldn't believe Yesseca had given up their patisserie over to her family!

She shot up from her seat, wanting to snatch the paper away from her father.

She was there to witness the patisserie's success from day one. She knew just how much blood, sweat and tears Yesseca had put into making the business work. There was no way she'd let her good-for-nothing father steal that away from her.

Calter was quite agile despite his old age.

Seeing Preslie wanted to snatch the agreement, he immediately shoved it back into his pocket.

She heaved in anger. "What the hell are you doing?! This is Yesseca's shop! Who do you think you are to take it away from her! Have you two no shame?! What makes you think you have the right?!"

"Do we not?!" Amelia sneered. "She nearly killed my mother! We're already being merciful by asking for her store as compensation instead of sending her to jail!"

"No way I'm letting you do this!" Preslie looked over at Yesseca. "Yesseca, you can't do this. That patisserie is your baby!"

Pointing at Preslie, Calter reprimanded, "Preslie Fernandez! When will you learn to be like your sister?! You should be loyal to your family, not some stranger! Are you not a Fernandez?! I am your father, and she is your sister!"

Preslie replied, "I may be a Fernandez, but I also stand for what's right! Ask yourselves; what makes you think you have the right to ask for her patisserie?!"

She continued after a pause, "And though you're my family, have you ever been nice to me?! Yesseca is the only one who has been sincere to me! You have no right to impose family loyalty upon me at all!"

Turning to her father, Amelia said, "You're seeing with your own eyes what kind of a person Preslie is now, aren't you, Dad? She'd rather help a complete stranger than her own family!"

Calter brought up the adage, "Your mother was right. We were better off raising a dog than raising you, you heartless wench!"

Those words stung Preslie especially hard!

Yes, they were better off raising a dog than raising her.

Although they treated her poorly and she had wanted to cut ties with her heartless parents countless times, she was still worried sick when she learned her mother had sustained a severe injury.

But what about her parents?

She was nothing to them, only ever putting their attention on Amelia.

All for what?!

Preslie was instantly heartbroken.

She had planned to keep vigil by her mother's side until she woke up.

But she didn't think it was necessary anymore.

What was even the point of being here?

Wait for her mother to wake up and say right to her face that they were better off raising a dog than to raise her?

Preslie stood up.

She decided not to sit around anymore.

Her mother was already fine anyway.

Before she left, she declared, "Regardless, I will never allow Yesseca to give up her store. Sue all you want; be my guest!"

She then took Yesseca's hand and said, "Yesseca, let's go."

After leaving the ward, Preslie kept telling Yesseca how she should never give her patisserie over to her family. It wasn't until they stepped out of

of the hospital that Yesseca spoke up. "Forget it, Preslie; I've already written and signed the note.

Well just let them have it ContentCcontent © exclusive by Nô/vel(D)ra/ma.Org.

Flushed with anger, Preslie roared, "No way, Yesseca! Why?! That's your baby! Who do they think they are to own it?!"

Yessica snorted indifferently. "Preslie, they'll only come and make a scene until we finally surrender. What if something like this happens again if we get the police involved once more?"

Preslie was rendered speechless at that.

"Besides," Yesseca stretched out her hand. "Hadn't you been nagging about expanding the store? It's a good chance for us to look for a

bigger place. I may have

give them the rights to our patisserie, but I didn't say I'd be giving them the profits we've earned thus far. I've done the accounts; we have enough to get a bigger place."

"But-"

Yessica cut Preslie off before she could say more. "Alright, Preslie, it's decided. Your mother nearly lost her life because of me. Take it that I owe her that much, or I won't be able to live with myself."

Prelsie fell silent.

She knew Yesseca had done it all for her sake, all in all.

Yesseca was still looking out for her.

Preslie felt extremely guilty.

Yesseca really shouldn't have come to her in the first place. Not only had she barely done much, she even brought trouble with her.

Just then, a taxi was driving toward their direction, and Yesseca hailed it. "C'mon, Preslie, we'll talk about the new store when we get home."

Preslie followed Yessica into the taxi.

They hadn't realized this wasn't their first ride with the driver!

They didn't recognize him.

But he knew who they were.

Because they kept talking about being lady bosses on their last ride that it stuck with him, thinking they were amusing.

Preslie was still down in the dumps after getting in the car. Yesseca held her hands, comforting, "Cheer up, Preslie! We are to become lady bosses! How can you be one when you're so dispirited?!"

Despite her dejected look, Preslie raised her hands, saying, "I'll cheer up. I'm going to become a lady boss!"

The taxi driver took the conversation in.

His lips quirked.

The two girls were still on about becoming 'lady bosses'?

Still dreaming, eh?

Another four days passed by in the blink of an eye.

Only one more day until Tremaine's wedding with Qiana.

Tremaine stayed in his office, never once returning to the Quartley Palace that day.

Meanwhile, Qiana spent the entire day in the Quartley Palace, getting herself ready.

Facial, spa, whatever it took to look her absolute best the next day.

ne

Tremaine still hadn't returned by dinner, and Madam Quartley turned to Qiana. "Tremaine probably wants to spend a long honeymoon with you after the wedding. See how he's cooped up in his office lately? He must be finishing some work in advance so that he can spend more time with you."
