She took a deep breath to calm herself, mentally scolding, “What am I even thinking?”

It was just a rehearsal. They were merely running lines, exchanging a few glances to help Austin get into character. There was no need for actual intimacy, nor would she ever consider crossing that line.

Even if the thought crossed her mind, she certainly wouldn’t act on it.

The first run–through went smoothly.

Austin, impressed, complimented her, “Have you ever thought about studying acting? Even though we were just rehearsing the lines, you caught on quickly and responded well to my cues.”

Natalie shook her head, smiling shyly. “You’re just being nice. I’m not that good.”

Natalie sensed that Austin’s expectations of her were low, which made sense since he wasn’t holding her to an actor’s standard. That was probably why he didn’t push her too hard and believed she had potential.

“Let’s move on to the next scene,” Austin said with a smile.

Natalie grew nervous as she glanced at the scene description. She couldn’t help but confess, “Mr. Powell, this next scene is way too intimate. It mainly involves eye contact between the two

characters.

“I can’t really… perform that. Maybe you could just act it out and pretend my face is the female lead’s?”

She deliberately left out the physical aspects of the scene. Intimacy was hard for her to perform, but she could manage eye contact.

With a low and serious tone, Austin replied, “Alright.”

Despite her claims of being unable to perform, Natalie did her best to immerse herself in the role. She wanted to help Austin as much as possible. After all, she watched him film daily and had picked up some professionalism from observing.

But Austin’s gaze was charged with an intensity that made her heart race. She could feel the sexual tension building.

Thankfully, she remained focused. Otherwise, she might have thought Austin had different intentions.

Natalie couldn’t help but gush over Austin in her head. “Oh my god! Mr. Powell

is so charming, and his acting is incredible. It’s like I’m the female lead in this scene. That’s the magic of Mr. Powell. I’ve got to tell Skylar about this later.”

She wouldn’t have imagined being in this position a year ago, helping Austin with his scenes.

Austin looked at Natalie, who was still in shock. After a few seconds, he said, “I’ll get the door.”

The person at the door was a colleague from the studio, Harlan Hurlbutt. He was taken aback when Austin opened the door. “Mr. Powell? Did I knock on the wrong door? Isn’t Nath supposed to be in this

room?”

“We were rehearsing a scene. Is there something you need?” Austin asked, his face stern.

Harlan sensed Austin’s irritation. Knowing how dedicated he was, Harlan guessed that Austin was upset because he had interrupted his work, He stammered, “It’s… It’s nothing important. I’ll talk to her tomorrow.

With that, Austin closed the door.

Harlan stood outside, feeling puzzled. He couldn’t understand why Austin was rehearsing with Natalie when he had always practiced his lines with Hank.

Hank had just been in his room, looking for someone to grab a drink with.

Harlan shook his head.
