I looked up at a familiar face, he was looking at me with a calculative look which made me a bit nervous about myself. He wasn’t saying anything, there was complete silence in the room. He was leaning against the wall staring at me blankly, I didn’t understand what to do. As I stared at him back not knowing what to do he moved himself off and began strolling towards me with his hands placed inside in his pockets. His face was void of emotions and to look at his face I had to conjure all my strength,
“Mr. Villin do… Do you need something?” I asked moving back as he moved towards me, my back hit my desk and my breathing fastened when I saw him just mere inches away from me. I stared up at him and saw him looking at my face.
As I noticed him moving closer to me, I immediately closed my eyes and moved my face away from him. I felt him so close that his hot breath was on my face, I shut my eyes even more tightly. My heart was pounding rapidly against my ribcage making me very nervous. His fingers touched mine slightly and something like electricity shot up right through my entire body through that touch. I opened my eyes immediately and saw him turning back and walking out of the room with a file in his hands.
I exhaled the breath I was holding while placing a hand over my chest, “He came for the file?” I found myself asking no one in particular. Even though he left the room his effect was still on me, something in him was very intimidating, the way he stares, the way he walks, and his quietness… is something which makes a person scared to be with him in the same room.
I shook my head and walked towards my chair, while I sat down on my chair, Lydia walked in with a big bundle of files with her. I was shocked at those files and didn’t understand why she brought that many files with her. She walked over with much difficulty and placed them on my desk, “What are these?” I asked her as she flopped on the chair in front of me. She was breathing hard like she lifted up a huge tuck on her back, It was so hilarious to watch.
“M.. Mr. Villin… sent them… fo.. for research,” she said while breathing hard, I pushed the glass of water towards her, she took it and drank it whole. I pulled the bundle of files towards me and took the first one, the file was the contract between The hunters and The villins.
It was about their partnership. I was confused as to why he sent this all to me, I glanced at Lydia and saw her placing the glass down on the desk and wiping her mouth with the back of her hand. I was waiting for her to explain to me why he wants us to check all this file, she finally relaxed a bit and looked at me, “Mr. Villin wants us to read all these files because he says there might be something which could help us in the case, it could help us to be ahead of the case and cover up the issue before it raises” she said, I was still confused.
Who sent them? Is it Mathew or that tall guy? I just ignored that and nodded at Lydia and began checking the files.
It’s been more than two hours since we began checking the files, all of them are contracts and other project files about the company. All the information in the files was useless for us to cover up and nothing was making sense to me at all.
“I think we need to take a break now, ” Lydia said while stretching her body. My body was also aching because of the same position I’m sitting in all this time. I leaned back and stretched my hands and my body while I was doing that suddenly my office door was opened and to my horror, Mr. Villin walked in with a file in his hand.
He glanced at me and quickly averted his eyes towards Lydia who was opening a new file from my desk, I quickly moved my hands down and sat up straight on my chair. He just walked to my desk and placed the file, he didn’t even say anything about the file, he just turned around and left the office. My very sincere Lydia was still turning the pages of the files not even noticing him walking and leaving the office, I just sighed and got up from the chair and now she noticed me and looked at me with a smile on her face.
God! This woman
I smiled back at her, “Let’s go,” I said, she nodded her head and closed the file, I took my purse and walked out of the office. As I stepped out of the office, Lillian walked up to me with a smile on her face.
“Going somewhere?” she asked, stopping in front of us.
“Yeah, we thought to take a break…” glancing at Lydia,
“Why don’t you join us,” I asked smiling at her,
“I would love to, but Mr. Villin needs me right now!” she said while pointing at an office that was present on the corner of the floor, I turned around to look at the office. It was big and looked very beautiful from the outside, I noticed the big see-through mirror on the left side of the office and I looked through it. It wasn’t very clear from where I was standing and my legs automatically moved in the direction of that office.
I could hear Lydia and Lillian talking about something behind but like a material pulled my a magnet I was being pulled towards that office and I couldn’t even understand why I was walking to that office.
I stood against the big see-through mirror, I looked through it and saw Mr. Villin talking to someone on the phone, he was standing against the desk while leaning his back against the marvelous mahogany desk. The way his face expression was and the way his jaw was clenched revealing the sharp jawline, it was clear that he was angry at the person who was talking from the other side. He wasn’t wearing his jacket, his sleeves were rolled up to his forearm showing off his nerves and the white shirt was so tight that his muscles were clearly visible through the thick fabric.
He was holding his hand with his right hand while his left hand was over his right forearm. I don’t know what the other person was talking to him but he was looking so angry. The way his nerve popped up on his forehead was so attractive, my eyes moved down to his knuckles which were turning white because of the tight hold. The way all the nerves on his hands were showing a strong grip and anger was very scary to me.
All of a sudden I was pulled out of it, I looked around and saw Lydia and Lillian far away from where I was standing, I glanced back at him and began walking towards them. I was very confused at my actions,
Why am I behaving like this, I should stay away from this dude!
I mumbled and walked towards them, “Yeah, even I was thinking the same” Lillian was telling to Lydia.
Noticing me they both turned towards me, “Where were you, Miss Green?” asked Lillian looking at me with confusion.
“Please, you can call me Clarissa, Lillian,” I said,
She smiled at me and nodded her head, “Okay then, let’s go” Lydia said looking at me.
I smiled at Lillian and we began walking towards the elevator, Even though I was walking towards the elevator my mind was running around his face and the way it displayed anger and annoyance was very disturbing to me. I shook my head and stepped inside the elevator, as the elevator doors were closing I noticed him watching me through the see-through mirror.
The way he was watching me made me gulp hard and my lips tremble while making my legs shake and sweat began forming on my forehead. Thanks to the elevator doors for closing in time which made release the breath I was holding back, I rubbed my sweaty palms together to make my nervousness disappear. In all my years of working as a publicist, I never saw someone this intense and overbearingly intimidating, ever.
How can someone be so attractive that he pulls you like a magnet toward them but also scares you away with just a stare?
We both stepped out of the elevator and walked through the lobby, while we were walking towards the exit the receptionist smiled at me and I smiled back at her. She was a redhead and very attractive woman with a good nature, she always spoke kindly with everyone and which made her very popular in the office. Lydia told me about her while we were in the office, working on the files.
It’s very rare to get someone like her to the receptionist post nowadays, was the word Lydia told to me.
As we reached the cafe near the office, we took a seat in the corner by the window Lydia ordered for both of us. I just relaxed while reading the magazine. I looked up at the sound of the waiter telling us that the order is here, I closed the magazine and placed it on the table. The waiter began serving our plates, I patiently waited for him to serve it. As we served it and turned around he hit a man with the plate accidentally.
“Oh!” The brown-haired man hissed with pain, the plate hit him in the corner of his eye. Luckily it missed just his eye, the waiter boy immediately began apologizing and helping that dude but he was just telling him that he’s okay.
I felt like he was in a hurry because he didn’t even notice his purse which was falling down from his pant pocket, he just walked away. The waiter also didn’t notice it, so I grabbed the purse from the ground and got up from the chair, “Hey!” I yelled but the guy was walking without turning back, I moved from the chair and began walking suddenly I felt something falling down from the purse. I glanced at the man while I bent down to take the card which fell down, The back of the card all black without anything on it.Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.
I took it from the ground and flipped it, which was a very fancy card. I looked at the block letters on it and when my mind registered them it stopped working.
