Mission: From Divorcee to Millionaire

Chapter 785

Those little flings always seemed to drench themselves in all kinds of perfumes, which he found overwhelmingly sweet and downright bothersome. None of them could hold a candle to her natural scent.

Yesterday's missed opportunity gnawed at him. He just wanted to have her, completely and quickly. But this wasn't a one-time thing. She needed to come around on her own before he could truly have the upper hand.

Abraham smoothed his jacket, slipping back into his usual polished, gentlemanly facade. “Let's go, I'll take you home,” he said, as if nothing had just transpired.

Selena closed her eyes, taking a few deep breaths to push down the wave of disgust that threatened to overwhelm her. Being an adult often meant dealing with things you'd rather not. Even if she was harassed and humiliated, she couldn't just slap him and storm off.

Abraham wasn't Everett someone she could hit without worrying about the consequences.

With a steely expression, Selena strode out of the room. Outside, along with Abraham's secretary and bodyguards, Holt and two others were waiting. Seeing Selena walk out unharmed, Holt let out a sigh of relief.

Her eyes questioned Selena, silently asking if she was okay. Not wanting to cause any worry, Selena gave a slight shake of her head, signaling she was fine. Just a little nauseated, nothing more.

The group exited the restaurant. A car was already waiting at the curb. Ever the gentleman, Abraham opened the back door. "Hop in."

But Selena didn't move an inch. She didn't want to spend another moment in close quarters with Abraham, especially not in the tight confines of a car. If he had any intentions of making a move, she'd have no escape.

Abraham, noticing her hesitation, kept a smile on his face, though his eyes clouded with irritation. "Selena, get in the car!"

He didn't believe she'd dare to defy him right now. Her project was in his grip, and any rash move on her part could lead to financial disaster for many.

She was a kind, wonderful woman. Those qualities were admirable, but they were also her Achilles' heel. And he, steeped in darkness and deceit, relished the thought of corrupting such purity. Watching her slowly tainted, eroded, and molded to his will would be the ultimate pleasure.

Selena stood quietly for several seconds, then seemed to reach a decision. She slowly lifted her gaze

to meet Abraham's. "Mr.is,

I'm sorry, but my boyfriend is

coming to pick me up, so you don't need to trouble yourself."

Boyfriend?

Abraham chuckled. "Since when do you have a boyfriend? You just told me you were single." He saw right through her ploy. "Using an excuse like that to brush someone off is pretty pointless."

Selena didn't bother explaining. She

calmly pulled her phone from her

purse and made a call. The person on the other end answered quickly, and she said directly, "I'm at the Grand Hotel. Come get me

now-yes, right now, immediately!" noveldrama

After a pause, she added, "If you're even a minute late, don't bother showing up, and don't bother seeing me again."

With that, she hung up, then flashed Abraham a sweet smile, playing the part of a spoiled girlfriend. "I have a bit of a temper and need my boyfriend to spoil and indulge me. Forgive me, Mr. Abraham."

Abraham raised an eyebrow, unfazed. He was certain she was bluffing.

"Alright, it's late. It's not safe for a woman to wait here alone. I'll keep you company. I'm curious to meet this boyfriend of yours, see what kind of guy he is." Holt was speechless. Were she and the bodyguards invisible? This old man was clearly lying through his teeth. How could someone his age still be on the prowl for younger women? What a creep!

Selena's expression didn't waver. "Alright, Mr. Abraham, if you're willing to wait, let's wait together."
