What Should I do?
“Kai … how long are you going to hug and kiss me like this?” protested Anna Maria.
This morning, after waking up and opening his eyes, instead of getting up right away, Kaivan held onto his wife’s body even tighter. Hugging and even kissing Anne’s cheek so affectionately and incessantly.
“I still want to hold you,” he replied. “I just don’t want to let you go. You have to stay by my side.”
Anne sighed softly. For some reason, the man next to her was acting so affectionate this morning. Completely different from Kaivan’s usual stern and intimidating demeanor.
“I need to take a shower, Kai. It’s already seven in the morning. You need to clean up and get ready for work.”
Kaivan didn’t care. He even buried his face deeper into the curve of Anne’s neck. Inhaling her scent deeply, then shortly responded again.
“Darling…” he whispered. “The distance between the room we’re staying in and my office is just a few floors apart. No need to worry or rush. Besides, this Hotel is mine. Whether I arrive late or not on time, no one will dare to scold me.”
“Ugh!” Anne immediately exclaimed. She forgot that the man holding her was the hotel owner. “Come on, we can continue this later tonight. Right now, I need to shower and prepare breakfast for you. It’s my turn to cook a special meal for you this morning.”
“Are you promising to continue it later tonight?” A teasing grin was clearly visible on Kaivan’s handsome face. He seemed delighted to be teasing his wife.
“Do you need my approval for that? Aren’t you used to doing it without asking?” Anne protested.
Unsurprisingly, this made Kaivan laugh. What else could he do? It had been emphasized many times that he was completely infatuated with Anna Maria’s presence. If there weren’t other obligations out there, Kaivan wished he could lock the room tightly and hold Anne all day. Not giving her the slightest chance to move away from his side.
“Alright, I’ll comply with your request. But you need to remember, tonight I’ll remind you of your words.”
“I promise,” Anne replied, giving her husband’s cheek a peck.
Slowly, Kaivan started to loosen his embrace. Reluctantly, he finally allowed his wife to move down towards the bathroom.
After finishing all his morning activities, Kaivan appeared to walk leisurely towards his office. Upon arriving, he was greeted by Hans. As usual, Hans probably wanted to provide an update on the progress of his investigation.
“Anne has told me everything, Hans,” Kaivan said as he sat comfortably on the guest sofa.
“Oh, I see. So, what did your wife say?” Hans leaned forward. His facial expression revealed his curiosity to hear the story clearly.
“You remember, right? Initially, I thought Anne was targeted by Luca because the old man wanted to take Anne and use her as bait to lure Giorgino out of hiding. But it turns out I was wrong. All this time, Anne has been holding onto an important item containing evidence of the British parliament members’ crimes with the Sicilian Clan.”
“So, that’s what caused Anne to be pursued by Luca Guzman?”
Kaivan nodded.
“You’re right. It seems Luca and his henchmen knew that Anne was the one carrying the important item. That’s why they relentlessly attacked me, wanting to take Anne away from my surveillance.”
“What else did she tell you?”
Kaivan reached for his cup of coffee first. Sipping the drink his secretary had prepared. Then, after a short while, he continued to talk.
“About the pregnancy, just as I suspected all along, Hans.”
“You mean?” Hans’s eyebrows furrowed as they met in order to listen to this particular story.
“Yes, just as I suspected all along,” said Kaivan. “Anne isn’t pregnant with my child or anyone else’s. She’s been deliberately pretending to be pregnant to get my attention.”
“Hold on.” Hans immediately interrupted. “So, you’re saying all the results indicating that she’s pregnant were just a fabrication?”
Once again, Kaivan nodded, confirming what Hans had said.
“According to Anne’s explanation, she intentionally met me at a party. Invited me to have a drink together. And when I was heavily drunk, she took me to one of the hotel rooms. She used that moment to trap me and fabricated a story as if she and I had a physical relationship like a husband and wife, ultimately leading to Anne’s supposed pregnancy. She did all of this to capture my attention,” Kaivan explained at length.
“Oh my God.” Hans exclaimed. Finally, one of the suspicions they both had about this situation was proven true. “And my question now is, do you forgive her? Considering how much her actions have harmed you.”
A long sigh escaped from Kaivan’s straight nose. In reality, he had to reveal everything to Hans without any cover-ups.
“I’ve forgiven her, Hans. If I tell you the whole story, I’m sure you’ll just laugh at me.”
Hans chuckled. He remembered how in the days prior, Kaivan was so angry and frustrated because Anne’s arrival had clearly disrupted his life. How hard Kaivan had tried to prove his innocence.
“It’s okay, Kai. Love is something unpredictable. It can come at any time without being predicted by the owner of the heart itself. And even if you’ve fallen in love now and feel comfortable with her, just continue your relationship.”
“You’re right,” Kaivan agreed. “Anne even admitted to having the same feelings for me. Luckily, I followed your advice and married her. So, I’ve decided to continue this marriage. I’ve also promised to help Anne resolve all the issues she’s currently facing. Making sure Luca won’t bother her again.”
Hans also reached for his coffee cup. He immediately finished his drink before responding to the story Kaivan had shared.
“In that case, our goal has changed now. It’s no longer about investigating Anne but rather finding Giorgino Lopez’s whereabouts before Luca’s side discovers him. As far as I know, for a big secret like this, Giorgino himself must hand over the evidence to the M16 intelligence agency.”
Kaivan nodded in agreement. Exactly the same as what Anne had told him. She said that the chip she held couldn’t be given away without Giorgino’s involvement. Only her father had the authority to surrender that important item.
“In that case, from this moment on, widen your search, Hans. Mobilize your people to find Giorgino. I will also ask the Witch Hunter to help locate Anna Maria’s father. We need to resolve everything quickly so that Luca can be incapacitated this time.”
Hans nodded in understanding, agreeing with what Kaivan had just instructed.

“Darling, where are you?” Kaivan asked as he had just entered the room. Returning from work, he didn’t find his wife. However, upon listening carefully, he realized that she was inside the bathroom, probably busy cleaning herself.
While waiting for his wife to finish her shower, Kaivan sat on the edge of the bed, removing his clothes one by one. After a few minutes, Kaivan noticed that Anne’s phone, lying on the nightstand, had begun to ring. There was a short message that had come in.
As usual, driven by curiosity, Kaivan glanced at the message. He read carefully what was written there.
“Tonight, don’t forget to meet me briefly. There’s something important we need to discuss. You can choose what time to meet. It’s up to you.”
Once again, Kaivan was taken aback. Returning to his initial position, he fell silent for a moment. The same question kept popping up in his mind. Who was the person behind the messages to Anne, given that there was no name mentioned?
Could it be your father? A sibling, a friend, or maybe —-

Anne’s unexpected call snapped Kaivan out of his thoughts. Looking up, he immediately reached for Anne’s body, which was so close that she ended up sitting perfectly on his lap.
“I just got back. I was looking for you everywhere. Turns out you were taking a shower,” he said, embracing her tightly and placing a gentle kiss on Anne’s cheek.
“Sorry if I didn’t hear you calling me,” she replied regretfully. “Do you want to take a shower right away? Let me prepare some warm water for you. After that, we can have dinner together. I cooked beef barbecue for you tonight.”
Instead of responding to his wife’s question, Kaivan unexpectedly lifted Anne and carried her with him into the bathroom.
“Kai!” Anne protested, of course. “Where are you taking me?” she asked in confusion.
“I don’t need warm water. I just need you to accompany me for tonight’s shower.”
“Oh my, but I’ve already showered!”
“Then what’s the problem?” Kaivan asked as he placed Anne on the sink inside the bathroom. He reached for the knot of the bathrobe Anne was wearing and untied it. “If you’re worried about running out of your favorite soap or shampoo, I’ll ask Meggy to buy plenty so you’ll be happy.”
Anne immediately pouted. He was acting as he pleased, as always.
“But, Kai-”
Kaivan didn’t let his wife protest again. He silenced her by planting a deep kiss that absorbed any potential objections Anne might have had. Without much thought, he removed the bathrobe clinging to the woman’s body in front of him.
Anne could only surrender. She couldn’t possibly refuse his request. Moreover, it seemed quite enjoyable to shower together for once.
After finishing their usual routine, both Kaivan and Anne, who were now exhausted, chose to sleep. Kaivan possessively held Anne’s body, as if not wanting his wife to leave his side.
In the middle of the night, Anne opened her eyes once again. Glancing briefly at the neatly placed clock in one corner of the wall, it was already indicating 2 AM. Looking to the side, she found Kaivan sleeping soundly.
Slowly, Anne tried to uncover the blanket that covered her body. Sliding down and walking silently, she headed towards the walk-in closet. She grabbed a cardigan from the closet and put it on quickly.
Again, she took slow steps. Carrying her feet towards the nightstand, she quickly reached for her phone and then moved quietly towards the exit door.
However, before truly deciding to leave the room, Anne turned back. Double-checking that Kaivan was still fast asleep. After making sure her husband was deeply asleep, she left the room. She wondered where she was heading at this late hour of the night.
Meanwhile, Kaivan, realizing his wife’s departure, opened his eyes. Deciding to slide down, he chose to leave the room immediately.
Recalling the content of the short message he had read on Anne’s phone after work, Kaivan was confident about where his wife was going at this late hour of the night. With a self-assured attitude, Kaivan headed towards the emergency door, not far from his room.
Turning the emergency door handle slowly, Kaivan was immediately met with an unpleasant sight. He saw his wife approaching a man who was probably around the same age as her. Not only that, the man didn’t hesitate to kiss and hug Anne tightly, as if it were something common.
Kaivan’s fists clenched tightly as he struggled to contain his anger. Anyone would be upset seeing their spouse getting close to an unknown man.
So, what should I do?
I even thought that your messages lately were coming from your father. Turns out, my guess was wrong.
Kaivan let out a heavy sigh. Instead of approaching or confronting them directly, he chose to turn away. He walked away from the scene, overwhelmed by his emotions.
