“Mr. Randy, your wife’s cervix is fully dilated. Do you want to join her in the delivery room, or would you prefer to wait outside?”
After almost two hours of waiting, the doctor who handled Ghea’s delivery gave Randy the option to decide whether he wanted to be present during the birth or wait outside.
“I’ll go in, doc. I want to accompany my wife through the delivery process.”
The doctor nodded and invited Randy to enter. After preparing for about five minutes, the doctor asked Randy to stand right above Ghea’s head. He explained what actions Randy might need to take during Ghea’s delivery.
“Mr. Randy, do you understand what you need to do?”
Randy nodded.
“I understand, doc.”
The doctor then initiated the delivery process, giving instructions and guiding Ghea through each step. After about 40 minutes of following the doctor’s instructions, the long-awaited baby finally emerged from Ghea’s womb, safe and healthy.
“Congratulations, Mr. Randy, Mrs. Ghea. It’s a baby boy. Born safely, healthy, and complete.”
With a feeling of overwhelming emotion, Randy immediately embraced Ghea, shedding tears when he saw his son for the first time.
“Our baby is born, my love,” Randy said, deeply moved. He hugged Ghea tightly while she still looked exhausted from the labor.
After going through a series of postpartum processes, Ghea and the baby were eventually transferred to a recovery room. There, the entire extended family, who had been gathering since earlier, warmly welcomed and congratulated them on the arrival of Ghea and Randy’s handsome son.
“Congratulations, Ghea. Your little hero has finally arrived,” Luna said genuinely. “Luckily, his good looks take after you. I pray that his behavior is more like yours than his dad’s.”
Randy immediately glanced at Luna. She was speaking too casually.
“Why is it a problem if he’s like his dad? My behavior so far has been perfectly normal.”
“Who says?” Luna protested. “I hope this baby doesn’t inherit his dad’s playboy and mischievous traits.”
Ghea just smiled, enjoying the sight of her husband apparently debating with Kennedy’s wife.
“By the way, have you given him a name yet?” Luna asked. “If not, I can help find one,” she said enthusiastically.
Randy immediately felt uneasy, especially seeing Luna’s face indicating something suspicious.
“No! No need!” Randy refused outright. “You don’t have to bother finding a name.”
“Why? I want to help you, you know. I’ve even prepared a special name for your baby.”
“Why do you want to give a name to Randy’s baby, Luna?” Darwin asked curiously.
“Because it’s a boy, I just want to contribute names like Ma Ta-moo, Kang Chi Leok, Matur-Siwon, or —”
“Enough … enough, don’t bother!” Randy exclaimed in frustration. It was clear that his brother-in-law was intentionally seeking revenge on him. “No need to go through the trouble. Ghea and I have already chosen a name for our child.”
“Even though the names I suggested are good, Ran.”
“Good how!”
“So, whose name do you want to give to the baby?” Darwin asked again.
“Ghea and I have already decided. If it’s a girl, we want to name her Briana. But since it’s a boy, we both agreed to name him Jacob Anthony Walters. You can call him Jack.”
Everyone seemed to agree with the name Randy had just given to his son. After all, just from the name, one could imagine that Jacob was a strong and mighty man.
Then Randy glanced at Ghea, who was sitting leaning back. Winking, as if there was something he wanted to convey to her.
“But, if I may, after this, let’s have a daughter, dear. Just to complete our family. So that the name Briana we’ve prepared won’t be in vain.”
Ghea sighed. But, shortly after, she nodded. Apparently, she agreed with what Randy asked for.
“Hopefully, in the next pregnancy, God will give us a daughter, dear.”
“Yes! So I can match her up with Darwin’s son. Haha.”
All members of the Walters family seemed happy that day. Ghea’s parents, both the father, Uncle, and her stepmother, also appeared to be present to celebrate the joy of Jacob’s birth and presence in their large family.
Randy himself didn’t expect that his life could end up so happy. It all started with an arranged marriage. His accidental choice of a future wife and even with all the drama they went through, he was almost pessimistic that his life would go smoothly.
However, because of his initial intention to build a serious small family, God was so kind to him. Always accompanying him in every step of his marriage, even when he and Ghea faced significant challenges.
Now, Randy and Ghea appear to be very happy. Hoping that all of this will never end until they grow old and eventually go to meet the Creator. (End)Belonging to NôvelDrama.Org.
