Chapter 589 How Is She?
Chapter 589 How Is She?
Caleb’s arm was broken and in a cast. There was even a bandage around his head.
Seeing how he looked, Bethany’s heart ached for him.
“What is it? Are you afraid that she’ll find out what happened and get worried if you video call her?”
Bethany asked Caleb. “Is it serious? Has it been disinfected?”
“That’s been done. The doctor’s seen to me. I’ll be admitted for a few days,” Caleb said. “Dr. Beth, if
you have time, can you visit my mother for me, please?”
“Sure. I’ll tell you how she is after I visit, alright?” Bethany said.
Caleb nodded.
After hanging up, Bethany thought it was time to show how caring of a girlfriend she could be. She
thought of sending some soup to Caleb, but she didn’t have his address. She couldn’t ask for it, either.
Otherwise, Caleb would definitely stop her from sending it.
After thinking about it, she decided to go ask Mrs. Faber for it. At the same time, she could see how the
latter was doing.
Just then, Clarissa called her, asking for her help to put on a show for Damien.
“Put on a show? Definitely. Let’s make him suffer!” Bethany said viciously. She was all too happy to
agree.
Bethany brought some anti-inflammatory medication and went over to Damien’s place.
Damien wasn’t home, but Mrs. Faber was.
After the surgery, Mrs. Faber stopped having stomach aches. Thus, the elderly woman was very
thankful to Bethany.
Seeing that Bethanhy had brought her medication, Mrs. Faber said gratefully, “This is why it’s good to
have a doctor in the family. This is the kind of medication doctors at the hospital won’t prescribe. They
only give you the expensive and useless stuff.”
Bethany smiled. “Mrs. Faber, I’m not in your family.”
Mrs. Faber only laughed. She then said emotionally, “That’s right.”
“By the way, do you have Caleb’s address? I want to send him something,” Bethany said.
It was as if these words had given Mrs. Faber some hope. “What do you want to send?”
“Last week, Caleb mentioned that he was bored during training, so he wanted me to send him some
books. That’s why I’m asking for his address.” Bethany was well-practiced at lying, so she did it well.
“I see.” Mrs. Faber put on her bifocals and started searching on her phone. “He’s sent it to me before, I
think. Let me look for it.”
After a while, Mrs. Faber sent Bethany the address.
“That works,” Bethany said, thanking Mrs. Faber.
“Alright. Hold on a minute. Let me get you some water.” After completing that task, Mrs. Faber went to
get Bethany some water.
Just as Mrs. Faber turned around, Bethany texted Clarissa.
Bethany: [Call now.]
Bethany’s phone rang.
“What is it, Clarissa?” Bethany asked.
She saw Mrs. Faber’s footsteps falter.
“If it hurts, you can use a hot water bottle on your stomach. Rest more, you hear? This isn’t a small
issue.”
“Yes, I know you don’t want it. Just abort it. You can always have another one,” Bethany continued.
“Besides, you’re not married. You can’t give birth to it! Won’t you be laughed at if you’re at the
university alone with a kid?”
“Yes, yes.”
“Alright, I’ll drop by to see you in a while.”
Bethany looked over at Mrs. Faber from the corner of her eyes. She was sure Mrs. Faber had heard
everything she said.
Mrs. Faber knew that the call was from Clarissa.
When Mrs. Faber brought the water, Bethany said, “I’m so sorry, Mrs. Faber, but I need to go see
Clarissa now.” Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.
“How is she?” Mrs. Faber was really concerned about Clarissa.
“She…” As if faced with a difficult question, Bethany said, “It’s nothing. Don’t worry, Mrs. Faber. Take
care.”
