Chapter 658: They Decide to Experiment
Tina gazed deeply at the mother she had waited for over ten years and found it hard to let go. After all, memories weren't that crucial; if they couldn't be recovered, then so be it. Natalie ruffled Tina's hair.
"Tina, Mom believes in you. You are my pride in this world. Nothing will ever be too hard for you, my darling. Whatever you wish to do, you will certainly succeed."
She knew her daughter too well. She understood that Tina didn't want to lose herself, didn't want to become a wandering orphan across the world. Indeed, those memories weren't that important.
She knew how she had disappeared and had recognized her biological father. Whether the memories were recovered or not didn't matter. When Five Poisons had taken her from the Brookes family, Rachel hadn't seen his true face. The elderly, white-haired man at the university who knew Five Poisons had also known him as Jake Glover. Joshua might know, but he would never tell.
Thus, she was the only one in the world who might have seen the true face of Five Poisons. Those lost memories had to be recovered.
Tina bit her lower lip.
"I only have one chance."NôvelDrama.Org © content.
Just one chance: succeed and be joyful, fail and there would be no starting over.
Natalie smiled.
"I know, but don't worry, I'm not going to die. Your master calculated that I could live to be two hundred years old!"
Tina knew Natalie was joking just to ease the tension.
Natalie continued, "We must recover this memory, so rest assured, nothing will happen to me. And my dear daughter, when have you ever failed?" Natalie held Tina's hand tightly.
"Go ahead with confidence, no matter what happens, I am here."
Tina pursed her red lips, silent for a long time. She was thinking, hesitating. But seeing Natalie's determined eyes, the hesitation seemed to vanish. "Okay, let's start tomorrow. For today, shall we go back and have hotpot with grandpa and the uncles?"
"Sure!"
Mother and daughter left hand in hand. Jared, seeing the tear stains on Tina's face, didn't ask any questions. He took their bags and dutifully drove the car.
At the Brookes family home, Scarlett had prepared hotpot early knowing Natalie wanted it. The whole Brookes family was busy. Except for Brandon.
The bachelor was playing house with Kiki and Mimi.
As soon as Tina and the others entered, they saw various clips in Brandon's hair.
"Uncle Brandon, what are you playing?"
Tina asked with a laugh.
Brandon sighed deeply, hearing Kiki say, "Tina, don't talk to Brandon. He's being punished by standing!"
Mimi sighed, "I mean, you shouldn't punish a child like this. He just didn't finish his homework. Can't we eat first?"
Tina finally realized that Kiki and Mimi were imitating Scarlett and Jack, and Brandon was playing their role!
Tina chuckled.
"Uncle Brandon, Kiki and Mimi won't let you play a boy anymore?"
Brandon looked helpless.
"Having too many nieces isn't good either. Gavin, when will you have a boy?"
Gavin threw a piece of watermelon into Brandon's mouth from afar.
"Shut up, I want a daughter!"
Melanie groaned, "If you want more kids, have them yourself. Your two are enough trouble for me. Dad, I'll bring them to you tomorrow, okay?"
Ian, who had been enjoying the show, waved his hands immediately, "No, no, no, keep them yourselves. If it's too much, send them to your elder brother. He likes to entertain kids." Isaac paused, "No way, no way, I'm not coddling them anymore; they've all grown up, it's not fun anymore!"
Emily sighed, "Why do you always treat the children like toys? It's really frustrating."
Tina's lips slightly curved upwards, "Emily, it's genetic; my mom was the same!"
"It's from your grandfather!" Natalie added slowly while eating watermelon.
Jared rubbed Tina's face, "Don't worry, when we have kids, I won't treat them like toys."
Covered in watermelon juice, Brandon finally spoke up, "Tina, how many kids do you guys want? Uncle Brandon will get you a big round bed!"
"You look like a big round bed!" retorted all the men present except Jared.
Thud, thud. Two bumps appeared on Brandon's head.
One from a watermelon seed, the other from a rind.
No need to ask, it was Ian and Gavin's doing.
Brandon sighed heavily, "What kind of world is this!"
The Brookes family's courtyard was lively, filled with laughter everywhere.
Not far away, Angela sat on the wall, watching the scene.
Natalie always sensed Angela's presence first; turning her head, she saw Angela waving at her.
Natalie silently left the Brookes family.
Angela was waiting at the place where Natalie and Master Tam had dumplings last time, with two bowls set on the table.
"When did you get back?"
Natalie approached, naturally taking a bowl and starting to eat.

"Alina, take a look, is there anything useful for you?"
In fact, Angela had already sent photos of the contents to Natalie, but she wasn't sure if her photos might differ from the original, as the original is always safest. Natalie flipped through a few pages and indeed found something Angela hadn't photographed.
A drawing of two butterflies, like a girl would draw, dancing around a rose.
For some reason, when Natalie saw these butterflies, two figures immediately popped into her mind.
Natalie chuckled, "They're quite romantic, those two."
Angela had noticed the butterflies before but hadn't thought much of it.
In Angela's world, love was just a lubricant, not a necessity.
Thus, she had never accepted any emotional ties because she didn't need a lubricant for now.
"Is it helpful to you too?"
Angela asked again.
Hearing this, Natalie put the notebook down and looked at Angela seriously, "Angela, is there nothing else you want to say to me, besides this?"
Angela paused, holding her bowl, not understanding what Natalie was getting at.
Seeing the confusion in Angela's wide eyes, Natalie couldn't help but tap her forehead, "Why does everything have to be useful or helpful?"
Angela was even more puzzled, "If something is useless, why do it?"
"For fun, for joy, because I damn well want to!" Natalie declared, word by word, "Just like I only want to eat the filling of these dumplings and not the skins, I want to!" Saying so, Natalie ate all the dumpling fillings, leaving behind only the lonely skins.
