Kiss My Revenge The Heiress Strikes Back

Chapter 364

The military was trying to snag her, so he had to act fast. No matter what, he had to get Miranda into his department first. That way, if anyone else needed her expertise, they'd have to come through him.

"And hey, there's a salary, and it's not bad at all. You get paid every month. And there's a bonus if you take on special assignments, and the insurance is top- notch! Ahem, I know money's not your problem, but what about men? Our team's got some lookers, you know, six feet tall, fit, six-pack abs, the whole deal. How about I set you up with someone?"

Miranda paused, her cup hovering mid-air. She gave Beck a once-over, unable to hold back. “Damn, you're something else, you know that?"

Anyone listening in might think Beck was providing her with some male model to hook up with. She was expressly astounded by his approach.

He just shrugged off the remark. "Thanks for the compliment."

"So, are you interested?" he pressed on.

Miranda raised an eyebrow. "Maybe a little."

Beck was about to continue when he noticed the latte in front of Miranda started swirling on its own, moving as if stirred by an invisible spoon.

Beck uttered as he pointed at the cup. "It's moving."

Miranda looked at it too.

Yeah, she had noticed recently that she could move things with her mind. Her mental strength had been getting stronger, especially when she was working on her research and plants or helping people heal.

"Do you have, you know, that kind of power?" Beck's voice was suddenly charged with excitement.

Instead of answering, Miranda asked, "What kind of power?"

Beck stared at the swirling liquid, lost for words. Miranda took a couple of sips, letting the strange movement stop.

Beck cleared his throat. "Well, it's

hard to explain. We're still studying it presently, the result is yet to come but we think it might havenoveldrama

something to do with atmosphene

conditions or some kind of energy this world leaks. You know, there are people with unique abilities out there. Could be genetic, could be some way of interacting with the world's energy, leading to the possession of these special powers."

He was looking right at Miranda as he spoke. Clearly, he thought she was one of those people.

"But folks like that are rare. And recently, we've noticed that their abilities are changing."

He stared at her latte. "Kind of like a certain power that makes them even more powerful, and changes their already distinct abilities as well. We've got a few of those people in our department. That's how I found out."

Miranda hadn't been interested in this department at first. But now it intrigued her.

NexMed Labs definitely had its own legacy and methods. Since little, they trained to harness mental strength, weaving it into their medical practices. It was a unique approach.

Sometimes it felt like a medium, sometimes it followed the Locard's theory, and in a more mystical sense, it even touched upon the ideas of merits and sins.

However, there wasn't such a case

when one could exploit their mind to

control things aside from medical

aspect and silver needles. Like

right

now, it wasn't just about medicine

anymore; she could influence other

things with her mind.

She hadn't met anyone else like this. She was curious about how many more

were out there.

"What I'm telling you is top secret. I wouldn't have mentioned it if I hadn't seen it myself. Even the military doesn't know the specifics of what

we do Beck said quietly. "So, why don't you give it some thought?"
