Chapter 703 I’ll Listen to Every Word
“What? Do all of us need to take off our clothes?" one woman asked.
They had not expected Joseph, who looked reserved and aloof, to be into this kind of thing.
Impatiently, Joseph nodded. "Yes, all of you." He refused to believe that he was indifferent to any woman other than Chloe for the rest of his life.
Though the women felt a bit shy, they did not want to miss this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and began to undress.
Ten minutes later, Joseph growled, "Get out!"
Lucas sighed. He knew things would turn out this way. He went inside and escorted the women out. Carefully assessing Joseph's expression, Lucas asked, "Sir, did you find them unsatisfactory? Should I find a few more?"
"No."
There was only one person in Joseph’s heart. Regardless of how stunning other women might be, they were all just a piece of flesh. None of them could stir any emotion in him.
But Chloe was now engaged to Noah, so he had to make a choice—should he continue or let go? If he chose to continue, would he not be no different from Noah?
Joseph gazed at his computer screen, where Exotic Star’s official website displayed a promotional image of Noah and Chloe together, smiling sweetly as if they were husband and wife.
He closed his eyes, feeling utterly defeated.
"Daddy, are you busy? Can I come in?" Jasper asked respectfully.
Joseph rubbed his temple and turned off the computer. "Come in."
Jasper was wearing his school uniform. He looked handsome, and his neat short hair added a touch of maturity that did not match his age.
"What are you doing, Daddy?"
"I'm working."
"But I saw several ladies in very revealing clothes coming out of your office. Did you bully them, Daddy?" Jasper asked as he blinked curiously.
Joseph paused for a moment, then replied calmly, "That was Lucas' doing. It has nothing to do with me." NôvelDrama.Org © 2024.
"I see… Did they come to you asking for help?"
"Yeah."
"Cut it out, Daddy." Jasper sighed. "I'm not a three-year-old. I'm five this year. Stop lying to me. If it was Uncle Lucas, he wouldn't have let them come in."
Joseph was speechless.
"Daddy, I don't have homework today. Can you take me to Imperium as you promised a long time ago?"
Having no intention of staying in the office any longer today, Joseph picked up his car keys then Jasper and headed to the underground garage.

One hour later, they arrived at Imperium. This was Jasper’s first time here. He looked excited as he ran around, checking out everything around him.
"Sir, Vanya’s awake. She has something to tell you."
Five years ago, Joseph's relationship with Chloe underwent earth-shaking changes after Vanya was locked up in here. He had ignored Vanya since then. It was only recently that he remembered her existence. However, she had fallen seriously ill as she had a chronic poison in her body. If she did not take the antidote on time, she would spiral into insanity. It was Cyrus who had poisoned Vanya. She knew many secrets about Cyrus, so Joseph had not given up on treating her over these years.
Putting aside his thoughts, Joseph nodded solemnly and said, "Take me to her."
The small room had nothing aside from a bed. Vanya was staring blankly at the ceiling. When she heard the sound of the door locking, she struggled to sit up and looked toward the entrance.
Joseph walked in and looked down at her. "How do you feel?"
"I can't describe the feeling. It's like I've been asleep for a very long time."
Long enough that she was cut off from the outside world and was unaware of any activity beyond these walls.
"You can thank Cyrus for that."
Vanya smiled bitterly. "I know everything, and I understand your purpose in saving me. I'll tell you everything, one by one."
Joseph's tone was cold and indifferent as he said, "I'll listen to every word.”
