Chapter 689 Is Xavia Aware of How You’re Treating Her?
"Exotic Star's interviewers had no idea you've been to prison, do they?" Joseph placed the file in front of Frieda.
Frieda's expression changed, but she did not display panic. Instead, she looked calm and admitted, "Yes, I've been to prison."
Joseph squinted and cast a dark gaze upon her as he remained silent. Frieda maintained her composure, keeping her eyes lowered to conceal her emotions.
"Are you interested in finance?"
Frieda pondered for a few seconds before replying, "Yes."
"Lucas," Joseph called out.
"Yes, Mr. Joseph?”
"Arrange for Frieda to sit in the front row."
A little perplexed, Lucas assumed that Joseph was doing this out of consideration for Chloe. He then led Frieda to her designated seat.
Frieda gazed deeply at Joseph with hidden affection within her eyes. "Chloe isn’t with Noah yet,” she said before walking out, her words implying that he still had a chance.
Lucas quickly grasped the situation. This lady was indeed someone close to Chloe, and Joseph was looking for an opportunity to use her.
Joseph looked back at Frieda, their eyes locking for the second time. It was an intimate gaze unrelated to gender attraction. It felt as if they were familiar and close to each other for some
reason.
An incredible thought surged through his mind, leaving him momentarily absent-minded. But on the surface, Joseph remained composed. He understood that all the concealment was necessary for the time being. All he could do now was cooperate and patiently wait for the next opportunity to meet alone.

Following the navigation Jasper had provided, Chloe drove to where the Johnson Group used to be. A hint of doubt appeared in her eyes. "Are you sure the navigation’s correct?"
"Yea, it's here." Jasper pointed out a spot not far from the building. "This candy store, do you remember it?"
Chloe followed his gaze. The two abbreviated letters on the sign reminded her that Joseph had opened this candy store because he despised Noah buying her candy. The store was named after both her and Joseph. Content is property of NôvelDrama.Org.
She was surprised. "It’s still open?"
"It can go bankrupt anytime now, but Daddy’s a major client and invests in them heavily every year. You’re now able to enjoy their candies as soon as you're back."
"Oh, that means this store still has value."
Jasper took a deep breath. "Are you allergic to love?"
"Just allergic to him."
"You were flirting with him earlier. I saw everything."
Chloe tilted her head. "Did it make you angry to see that?"
"You were exchanging insults, but you didn't get physical," Jasper said earnestly.
"You're right."
A few insults would not do much harm.
Jasper then took out a carefully written letter from his backpack and proceeded to read it in a serious tone.
"My daddy still has feelings for you. He repurchased the company you sold, and it's now being managed well. He only meets with Xavia occasionally to discuss things about me and maintains a superficial relationship with her even in private. It's Xavia who keeps bothering him, so you don't have to worry about that.
"As for you and Daddy reconciling, you don't need to worry about that either. Just make sure to pay child support on time. To reduce my presence, I’ll stay at the school dorms. And when you two decide to have your own children, I won't fight for the family assets, but I do expect a share.
"That's all I can think of for now. If there's anything missing or unclear, I hope you’ll consider it carefully."
Chloe found it hard to believe that a five-year-old had said such mature and reasonable words. After marveling at his wisdom, she asked, "Is Xavia aware of how her biological son is treating her?”
