Jojo and Coco's Unexpected Love

Chapter 671 You’re Daddy’s Fling, Aren’t You?

Chapter 671 You’re Daddy’s Fling, Aren’t You?

Chloe raised an eyebrow, recognizing that the voice belonged to a child. She remained composed as she turned to look at him.

When Jasper saw her face clearly, he was shocked. "It's you!"

Chloe frowned and asked, "You know who I am?"

"Yes, I do," Jasper replied, crossing his arms in front of his chest.

"Oh? How do you know me?" she asked curiously.

‘Did Xavia bad-mouth me to her kid?'

"You had a fling with my daddy, right?" Jasper asked in a serious voice.

"A fling... Your mom told you that?" Chloe's mouth twitched, realizing she had hit the nail on the head. Xavia indeed talked ill of Chloe to her kid.

"But I don't believe it," Jasper said earnestly, "I think you’re a good person."

"Huh? But why?"

"Because you came to see Greatpapi. Daddy says Greatpapi loves you very much, and you’re here to see him, so that proves you're a good person. You treat Greatpapi better than Xavia does."

Chloe was stunned. "Why do you call her by her first name?"

This kid had inherited his father's bad traits. He was as disrespectful as his father.

Jasper did not answer her question. Instead, he locked his gaze on Chloe and asked, "Aren't you supposed to be dead?"

"What does that have to do with you?" Chloe countered as she smiled.

She did not dislike this child. In fact, she quite liked him, but it did not mean she would share everything with him.

"Nothing, but will you be coming to visit Greatpapi in the future?" Jasper asked.

"Does it matter to you whether I will or not?"

"It doesn't matter to me, but it matters a lot to Greatpapi."

Despite Jasper's young age, he moved agilely. He swiftly climbed onto the bed and started skillfully massaging Harold's legs. It was evident that he had done this many times before.

"The doctor said that Greatpapi's condition has been improving lately, and it's largely because I massage and talk with him regularly. He really likes you. If you can come more often and talk to him, it'll surely speed up his recovery and wake him up sooner," Jasper explained.

Chloe's gaze softened, and she nodded gently. "I can do that, but I have one condition."

"Do you want money? I have money."

Without waiting for Chloe’s reply, Jasper took out a check from his backpack. He waved it in front of her with an air of dominance. "How about 50,000 dollars per visit?"

"That's not necessary," Chloe said.

Even though it seemed foolish to pass up on such a lucrative opportunity, she had her principles. She could not bring herself to take money from a minor. Most importantly, she had enough money now.

The company she co-founded with Noah in Estre specialized in women's products, and the sales were quite impressive. They had initially agreed to a profit split of 9 to 1, which Noah did not oppose. Once the company started generating profits, the ratio was altered to 6 to 4. Nonetheless, she still earned a substantial amount.

To Jasper's surprise, Chloe passed his test. Despite Xavia's claim that Chloe had approached his father for his wealth, it did not appear to be the case from his perspective.

For the next two hours, Chloe and Jasper stayed by Harold’s bedside. She then got a text from Noah. She said to Jasper, "I have to go now."

"Will you come again?" Jasper asked as he looked at her expectantly.

Chloe's heart melted. "As long as you keep it a secret."

"No problem. Let's exchange numbers," Jasper replied. He was satisfied with her answer and took out his phone to jot down her number.

After reciting her number, Chloe thought of something and asked, "Isn't your birthday party today? Why are you here?"

Shrugging nonchalantly, Jasper replied, "I don't like those sorts of meaningless activities."

At that moment, Chloe saw a shadow of Joseph within Jasper.

After Chloe left, Xavia appeared. With an angry face, she asked, “There are many people waiting at the restaurant to celebrate your birthday, but you just up and left without a word. Don’t you think that’s disrespectful?”

Jasper looked up at her and said matter-of-factly, "If I had told you, you wouldn't have let me leave."

"Of course! It's your birthday party. By leaving, you've ruined the whole event!"

"I never wanted a party in the first place. It was you who forced me into it."

Xavia's face turned livid. "I did it for you!"

"For me?" Jasper stared at her. "It's more about pleasing Daddy and showing off how much effort you’ve put into me."

Throughout his life, Jasper experienced many discrepancies in the way his mother treated him. When Joseph was present, she treated him kindly, but when he was absent, she would scold and belittle him. This inconsistent behavior led Jasper to develop a sense of independence, and he no longer liked to address her as “Mom.” In his mind, a mother should not treat her child in such a manner.

Jasper's keen observation exposed the true nature of Xavia's intentions, and she could not bear the humiliation. A blend of anger and embarrassment flashed across her face, but she quickly composed herself and suppressed her emotions. Lately, Joseph had been treating her coldly, so she needed to reign in this little brat first.
