Chapter 944 Violet's Happiness (Part Two)

Chapter 944 Violet's Happiness (Part Two)

Still looking a Lawrence, she added, "And it's even more important that your marriage is rooted on the

fact that you love each other equally."

Lawrence nodded in reply, still avoiding his mother's eyes. He was expecting that answer from her. 'I

knew she had her own requirements for my wife. But I also know that she's hoping for me to marry

someone I truly love. She raised me to be a compassionate and grateful person. She would always tell Property of Nô)(velDr(a)ma.Org.

me that a good heart is more important than money and fame, ' he reflected.

"Lawrence, did you..." She stopped and looked at her son expectantly. She was sure that Lawrence

knew what she wanted to ask.

"Never mind, Mom," Lawrence quickly replied. He was worried that the longer they stayed on the topic,

the more likely he was going to mention Aria to Cherry.

"Okay, I see," Cherry replied as she looked away. "If you finally meet someone you like, make sure to

introduce her to me," she smiled and added.

She had wanted to see her son get married for a while now. 'Violet and Alice have both settled down

already. But Lawrence still haven't found someone. I've always wanted to see him have his own family,

but I can never force him. I know him and I'm sure that if I hint at wanting him to find a wife, he will not

forget and feel terrible for not being able to give me what I want. But all I ever really want is for him to

be happy and for him to find someone who can give him the kind of love he deserves, ' she mused.

"Of course, Mom. Don't worry, I will," Lawrence looked at Cherry and smiled.

After a while, they went back inside and returned to the living room. They caught sight of Violet and

Alice as they headed down the stairs.

Alice waved. "I was just about to go home," she said as she kissed Cherry on the cheek.

"Why won't you just stay for the night?" Cherry offered. 'It's getting late, she should just stay in tonight, '

she thought.

Alice playfully looked at Violet and a teasing smile appeared on her lips. "Someone might not want me

to stay here tonight. I think she wants to spend a lovely evening with her husband," she kindly teased

as she wiggled her fingers towards Violet.

"Come on, Alice!" Violet responded coyly.

Alice was laughing as she shifted her gaze back on Cherry and Lawrence. "It's okay. Violet and I will

hang out and have a chance to catch up another day. I will leave her to Greg. I'm sure they have a lot

to talk about."

Cherry smiled and nodded her head. 'It's so nice to see that they are still good friends even though

they're all grown ups now, ' she smiled at the thought.

"I'll be going now, Aunt. I promise to come visit another day," Alice said as she smiled and stepped

towards Cherry.

"Okay. Drive carefully, okay?" Cherry urged in a motherly tone as Alice gave her a hug.

"I will walk Alice out, Mom," Violet said as she skipped towards her friend. Side by side, they headed

towards the door.

As they watched Alice and Violet walk out the door, Lawrence turned to his mother and said fondly,

"Mom, I think you should rest now. I'll walk you to your room. You must feel tired after your flight."

Cherry looked at her son and replied, "Oh yes, dear. I do feel worn out. I haven't had a chance to take a

rest since we arrived."

"Come on, Mom," Lawrence urged as he held Cherry's arm and started to escort her up the stairs.

As they reached his parents room; Lawrence kissed his mother on the cheeks, bid her good night, and

walked towards his own room. Cherry watched as her son walked out of sight and entered the room.

Inside, Jackson was sitting by the French window. Cherry saw the cigarette between her husband's

fingers before she smelled the smoke drifting out of the open window. She wrinkled her nose and made

her way to him.

"Jackson, why are you smoking here?" Cherry asked, clearly displeased with her husband's smoking

habit.

Jackson heard his wife and turned around. He smiled brightly at her and put out the cigarette. He

reached out and motioned for her to come closer to him.

Cherry closed the gap between them and stood beside her husband. She rested her head on

Jackson's shoulders and held him close. With a restful look, she stared outside the window. Her

shoulders relaxed and her face lit up as he squeezed her hand.

Jackson leaned down and kissed his wife's forehead. "Don't worry about Violet. Greg is a good person,

he will not break her heart. They'll be able to work it out together," he soothed his wife's worries away.

Lawrence said the same thing to her earlier and Cherry knew deep down that they were both right.

Again, she sighed and with relief she responded, "I know. I'm glad to hear that. Lawrence assured me

of that earlier, as well. I know both of you have Violet's happiness in mind. And I am starting to believe

that Greg has, too."

"It feels just like yesterday that they were little kids. Time flies by so fast, they're suddenly all grown up

and starting their own families," Jackson solemnly recalled the past.

"I could still vividly remember our blind date. You asked for my household register and identity card,"

Cherry giggled as she recalled. She would often have a yearning to recall the past. Happy memories

always made her feel giddy. Despite all her fair shares of sufferings and hardships, she was still

grateful.

"You know if I did not act as quickly as I did, you would've been married to a different guy. I could not

afford to lose you, you know," Jackson defensively smiled and blurted. He remembered how he fell in

love with her and how much he wanted her back then. He had always felt that way towards her, even

after all these years.

Cherry lifted her head and met Jackson's affectionate gaze. She melted at the way he was looking at

her. She blinked and said, "I could never thank you enough for your help. If you had not entered my life,

I wouldn't have been able to move on after John's betrayal. Without you, I don't know where I would fall

after leaving the Shen family."

"We are destined for each other," Jackson said as he kissed his wife. He pulled back, held her face,

and stared into her eyes. "I will do anything for you. I will give everything just to protect you. You have

all of my love, you and the kids. I will never turn my back on you, darling."

"You've always made me happy. We've been through a lot together and I know whatever comes our

way, we will stay strong. This is the life I choose and the life I've always dreamed of. Having you and

the kids would always be enough for me," Cherry expressed. She was overwhelmed with Jackson's

words and love for her.

Jackson continued to hold his wife's face. He stroked her cheeks as he said, "You're more than enough

for me, as well. You, Violet, and Lawrence are my greatest treasures. You are a blessing that I will

forever be grateful for."

"Honey," Cherry said abruptly. She stood straight and faced her husband.

Jackson tilted his head. "Yes, sweetheart?" He asked.

"What are your plans? What do you want to do next, now that we're about to retire?" Cherry looked at

her husband intently as she asked.

Jackson softly smiled at her, wistfully looked out the window and said, "Hmm. Let's see. Well we can

look after our grandchild once Violet gets pregnant. Maybe we should rush Lawrence to marry so we

can also get to take care of his kids." He looked back at his wife and whispered, "And of course, I plan

on taking care of you for the rest of our lives."

Cherry smiled and hugged Jackson. Suddenly, "Oh! One more thing. There's something we need to

talk to Mond about. When Natalie gets married and has a baby, her child's family name must be Chu,

not Xu," Cherry blurted stoutly.

"Yes, of course. Her child will be a descendant of our Chu family," Jackson firmly agreed.
