Chapter 96
Scandal
Isaac smiled faintly and said, "No reason, just a man's intuition."
Harper frowned slightly and said, "You've never been in love, what it feels like to fall in love with someone?"
"Harper, are you questioning my vision as a man?" Isaac asked.
"I didn't question your vision. I didn't think you could see Benjamin's thoughts." Harper replied.
"Have you forgotten what I majored in college?"
He asked lightly, but Harper fell silent.
Because she knew Isaac had studied the psychology in college.
Isaac looked at her and smiled, "Is the reason for your and Benjamin's divorce just because of Lauren?"
"He promised to marry her." Harper responded.
"That's it?" Isaac asked.
Harper's face changed slightly, and her tone became cold as she replied, "Isn't this enough? Since one wants to marry someone without hesitation, isn't it because of love?"
"This is just your point of view. Love might not be the only reason for a man to marry. Duty or some other goal might also play a role."
Isaac's words confused Harper. How could someone have responsibility if they didn't love each other?
As for some kind of goal, what kind of goal could it be?
Harper just smiled and said nothing.
Isaac had not continued to talk about it. After all, only the parties involved could know the most about matters of love and marriage.
Isaac said, "Come up with me. Cole asked me to bring you gifts. My mother also made your favorite cookies. I didn't want to bring it on the plane, so I expressed it to the hotel. I just received them this afternoon."
"They are very kind to me. You didn't even prepare a gift for me. I have to be your driver. It makes me sad just thinking about it."
"Are you complaining about me?"
"Don't be cruel to me, or you may be kicked out of the house by Cole again."
Harper snorted softly, pushed open the car door, and entered the hotel's door with Isaac.
In order to avoid misunderstanding, Harper didn't even enter his room. She stood at the door, and said to Isaac, "I won't go in if you get your stuff out." Isaac was confused.
Harper said, "It's so late. It would be trouble if we were photographed. After all, I am married."
"Okay, you stand here and wait."
He glanced at her lightly, entered the room, took a bag of gifts, and handed it to her. "You hurry up and leave, married woman."
"You rest early, let's have a meal together tomorrow."
"Haven't we already eaten?"
"He wants to invite you to have a meal together."
She looked at Isaac and explained to him.
Isaac frowned and laughed softly. "Why did he invite me to a meal? In what name did he invite? Your husband?"
Harper didn't say anything and stared at him.
Isaac continued, "Then what is my identity? Your family?"
Harper said faintly, "Are you going to eat?"
Isaac smiled and said, "Of course. Mr. Martin invited me for dinner, so naturally, I had to participate. Let him come over to pick me up."
Harper didn't answer but glanced at him lightly. "Do your fans know that you behave like this in private?"
Isaac was completely different in private than in public and on the screen. His fans didn't know his character in private.
After Harper finished speaking, she didn't wait for his reply and turned around to leave.
Looking at her back, Isaac smiled and instructed, "Drive safely."
Then he didn't close the room door until she entered the elevator.
After coming out of the hotel, Harper drove directly back to the Pineview Villa.NôvelDrama.Org holds text © rights.
Benjamin had come back a long time ago. She handed the things to the servant and said, "Benjamin, I have already told Isaac about the meal, and he agreed. Do you want to eat at home or outside?" "What do you think?"
Benjamin looked at her and asked.
Harper thought about it seriously. "If you don't want outsiders to come to your home, just arrange it outside."
Harper's words pleased Benjamin and a light smile suddenly appeared on his originally expressionless, handsome face.
He gazed softly at Harper, walked towards her, stood in front of her, and spoke in a low voice, "You know me so well. You know that I don't like outsiders, so you care about me so much. Shall we eat outside?" Harper stared at him with confusion.
Benjamin didn't say anything else. Otherwise, Harper would have begun to question if the person beside her was indeed Benjamin.
She stared blankly at the person in front of her. She thought a lot and finally concluded.
Benjamin probably did this because he wanted to make up for his divorce. After all, a second marriage was not good for a girl's reputation.

After a dreamless night, Harper was awakened by the ringtone of Benjamin's cell phone before the alarm clock rang the next day.
The call was from Curtis.
Benjamin's expression changed the next second after he answered.
Then he sat up and asked coldly, "Remove immediately!"
Harper couldn't sleep after seeing Benjamin's cold face. She asked him in a low voice, "What happened?"
He did not answer immediately but remained silent. His brows furrowed.
At this time, Harper's cell phone also rang.
She glanced at Benjamin worriedly, then picked up the phone and answered, "Hello?"
"Harper, you and Isaac have been on the top search. Someone uploaded a video of you and Isaac in the hotel last night and photos and videos of you spending time together over the past two days. You have been regarded as Isaac's girlfriend."
The call was from Frank.
Harper frowned tightly. She subconsciously looked at Benjamin and understood that the call he just received was also related to this matter.
She said in a solemn voice, "Okay, I understand."
Frank said, "Isaac's old fans can't accept and are overreacting a bit. Please don't come to the company for the time being. I'm worried that there will be danger."
"Okay."
"Also, do you think I should contact Isaac for clarification?"
"Well, I'll ask him first."
Harper's voice was low. She wanted to end the call quickly.
"Harper, it's okay. It's just a misunderstanding. It'll be okay if you clarify it, so don't worry, I'll always be here."
Frank comforted her, and Harper responded before ending the call.
She put down her phone and looked at Benjamin calmly. "I went back to the hotel with Isaac last night to get gifts. It was his parents who asked him to bring them. I didn't even enter his room. If you don't Trust me, you can go to the hotel to investigate the surveillance."
She also guarded against this, but they were still photographed.
Harper was a little annoyed.
"It wasn't that she was afraid of anything. She did not want to cause any trouble for Isaac. His fans had not received any news since he retreated, which was why many people were paying attention to him. He was a memory that belonged to an era. She didn't want to destroy it."
Benjamin's face was cold and spoke lightly, "Contact Isaac and ask him to clarify that you've been friends for many years."
After he finished speaking, Harper had time to reply. The cell phone rang again.
It was Benjamin's phone.
He frowned slightly, glanced at Harper, and answered the phone, "Speak."
