I Died in The Deep Sea for My Sister's Dream Novel by Summer Firefly

Chapter 10

It turned out that the soul could feel pain as well.

After Evie’s disappearance, the two of them searched frantically, as if possessed.

Without their passports, they were stranded and unable to return home.

After the events of that year, my Mom had grown accustomed to keeping all valuable possessions close to her.

Evie had essentially taken away all their wealth, cutting off their means of survival.

Watching their ugly faces, I couldn’t help but find it somewhat amusing.

It seemed that when people reached the depths of despair, they could completely disregard past affections and bonds!

Mom screamed and cursed daily, but her target shifted from me to Evie.

Eric rarely stayed, only getting a few hours of sleep each night.

Their most pressing concern became food; to survive, they scavenged near dumpsters and even watched the passing customers.

As soon as someone finished their meal, they would rush over to devour whatever leftover food was left behind.

In just three days, all then arby restaurants had blacklisted them.

They were no longer allowed entry, reduced to scrounging like rats in the alleyways for scraps.NôvelDrama.Org exclusive content.

When Evie finally returned, they had just wrapped up another fruitless day of searching. Walking into the room, they were stunned to find a living person before them.

Gone was the previously arrogant demeanor; now, Evie resembled a beggar, her body exuding a foul stench.

She didn’t even bother to wash up; instead, she collapsed onto the bed, falling asleep immediately.

Upon seeing this living person, my Mom gasped, and Eric instantly covered her mouth, gesturing toward the rope beside him.

Evie was far too exhausted to notice; even while sound asleep, she remained oblivious to her tightly bound state.

A bucket of cold water splashed onto Evie’s head, startling her awake as her eyes widened in disbelief, slowly regaining consciousness.

“Where have you taken our belongings, you little whore?” my Mom demanded coldly.

Recalling all the experiences from the past days, Eric couldn’t contain his anger. He raised his arm and struck Evie across the face.

The pain elicited a sharp cry from Evie. Given her recent experiences, fear gripped her, and she trembled as she sincerely pleaded for mercy.

“I know I was wrong. Please let me go; I swear I’ll find you more money…”
