Chapter 495 Humble
Chapter 495 Humble
Mona cast a frigid glance at Silvius, causing the latter to shudder.
However, Mona soon said, “After we catch the thief, I will repair your Creation Gem and help you perfect Supreme Light Sword. In addition, I will give you a Dragon Chain. But before we catch the thief, you shall not ask me of any more requests. Is that understood?”
Silvius was overjoyed and said, “All right, I understand.”
Then, Silvius and Mona went to a subsidiary of Secret Intel Camp to look for Karl.
In the pawn shop of Secret Intel Camp, they spotted Karl right away. Silvius immediately asked Karl to find out where Jonathan was. The latter was quick to comply with his young master's request.
Before long, Karl had found Jonathan's location. Mona and Silvius immediately set off in pursuit.
However, where was Jonathan right then?
He hadn't escaped Lerton, for he understood the wisdom of hiding in plain sight. It would be hopeless for him if he had fled to the wilderness.
At least in Lerton, he could rely on the chaotic crowd for a second escape.
Jonathan hid in an inn and began to meditate in his room.
He took a look at Yeverie and Clarabelle. Both of them were safe in the storage ring, unaffected by the outside world. However, Yeverie was very worried about Jonathan's situation, as well as Torrence and
Fekro's safety.
Jonathan said to Yeverie in a deep voice, “For now, Torrence and Fekro should not be in danger. As long as I'm not caught, it's not likely that Theos Lynn will kill them.”
Yeverie still had reservations and asked, “So what should we do? Both Mr. Torrence and Mr. Fekro have betrayed Theos. Theos Lynn must loathe them right now. What can we do to save them?”
Jonathan didn't want Yeverie to worry. Hence, he remained calm and said, “I have my ways. You just take good care of Clarabelle. Leave everything else to me.”
Jonathan always gave Yeverie a strong sense of security. After all, to her, Jonathan was almost omnipotent. Thus, when Jonathan spoke with such certainty, Yeverie was slightly relieved.
Then, Yeverie went back into the storage ring to take care of Clarabelle.
Despite having just reassured Yeverie that everything would be all right, Jonathan was, in reality, overcome with anxiety. He had realized that Silvius was a key figure.
Lynn should not have been able to find them. However, after Silvius appeared, Lynn managed to locate their precise location and launched an attack on them.
Though he managed to escape for now, he was afraid that the enemy would find him again soon.
What was even scarier was that Lynn actually knew about the existence of Clarabelle.
It was unimaginable.
Clarabelle had never been exposed from the beginning. Hence, how could Silvius have found out everything about them?
Jonathan then realized that he had to think about the matter from another perspective altogether. In the main world, even someone like Gabriel could predict divine secrets. In a lost world like Moranta, where elemental energy and Divine Masters were prevalent, Silvius had to be using some sort of magical weapon to predict divine secrets.
That must be how Silvius came to know of my location as well as Clarabelle's existence.
Jonathan's heart pounded, and cold sweat ran down his forehead. If that was the case, he wondered if it meant he had nowhere else to run to.
This place isn't safe either!
Jonathan abruptly jumped up.
However, just as he was about to escape from the window, a ray of light flashed outside.
Then, a light sword slashed toward Jonathan.
He stepped back and avoided the light sword.
Jonathan was genuinely startled. He thought the light sword was from Roland's Sword. After he
managed to dodge it, he realized that it was just an ordinary light sword.
However, at this time, two people flew in from the window.
They were none other than the beautiful, albeit icy, Mona and Silvius.
Mona's eyes flashed with cold murderous intent. She shot a glare at Jonathan and enunciated her words, “Thief, my patience is wearing thin. If you dare resist again, I will kill you right here and now!”
Her words were not an idle threat.
Jonathan immediately felt chills down his spine, and his entire body went cold. This was absolutely a matter of life and death. He knew that Lynn was truly angry. She would not tolerate his escape again. If he resisted now, she would not hesitate to kill him.
Jonathan had witnessed the power of Roland's Sword.
Aware of the consequences, Jonathan knew that any further resistance would only prompt Mona to unleash the formidable Roland's Sword, ensuring his death.
Hence, Jonathan really didn't dare to make a single move.
Silvius fixed his gaze on Jonathan. He had no sympathy for the latter at all. All he wanted was for Mona to catch Jonathan quickly so that she could help him repair and enhance Creation Gem.
At that moment, Silvius no longer lusted after women. Akin to a car enthusiast whose car had broken down, all he cared about then was his precious magic item getting repaired.
Jonathan stared at Mona and said, “Even if I don't resist, I will still end up dying from your torment. In that case, I might as well die in your hands now. At the very least, it'll be a quick and merciful death for me!”
Mona's eyes grew colder. “That's an issue for another time. I'm giving you three breaths' time. If you do not surrender, I will take your worthless life!”
Jonathan felt a stab in his chest when she said his life was worthless.
He had already suffered enough indignation in the main world. However, even in a lost world like Moranta, he was still driven to death by Lynn.
Then again, he had no help at Moranta. Now that he was driven into a corner, death was the only way out.
Have I really run out of good luck?
Jonathan knew very well that in the face of absolute power, all techniques were futile. With his current level of cultivation, he stood no chance against Mona's Roland's Sword.
Meanwhile, Mona started to count, “One, two...”
No, I cannot perish like this. Perhaps an opportunity will arise later on. As long as I'm alive, there will be a chance to turn the tables. The brief moment of mortal terror made him promptly declare, “Very well, I surrender.” He raised his hands in capitulation before sitting down cross-legged.
The murderous glint in Mona's eyes receded at his declaration, and she pointed at Jonathan.
Immediately, a Dragon Chain sprung out, binding Jonathan tightly.
He was immobilized. However, Dragon Chain's unique property also became evident to him. There were tiny barbs on the chain that would intensify their grip, digging deeper into one's flesh with every struggle.
Dragon Chain wasn't an extraordinary magical weapon. Had Jonathan resisted before being ensnared, he could have escaped its grasp. However, now restrained, escape seemed impossible.
Once bound by Dragon Chain, even a deity would struggle to break free.
A bitter smile crept up Jonathan's face when the pang of realization hit him. He had truly played with fire this time, thoroughly provoking Lynn after all he had put her through.
It was apparent that Lynn would love nothing more than to flay him alive and drink his blood.
Now that everyone was in her hands, Jonathan didn't even dare to contemplate his upcoming fate.
Witnessing Jonathan's capture, Silvius beamed in delight. Rushing in to curry favor with Mona, he lavished her with praises. “Your Holiness, that was a true display of divine power.”
Despite that, Mona merely cast a frosty glance at him and ordered, “Remove his storage ring.”
Silvius dutifully stripped Jonathan of his storage and spatial rings, leaving him destitute.
Nonetheless, he was unable to display a sliver of resistance.
Mona took over the storage and spatial rings.
With a swift flick of her wrist, Yeverie and Clarabelle were tossed out. Contentt bel0ngs to N0ve/lDrâ/ma.O(r)g!
Yeverie's face turned ashen when she noticed that Jonathan had been captured.
Clarabelle, on the other hand, appeared to have grown and matured slightly, though she still retained a dog-like demeanor. She attempted to win Mona over by wagging her tongue, much to Jonathan and Yeverie's disbelief.
Is Clarabelle without dignity?
However, Mona did not reciprocate Clarabelle's friendliness. Instead, she let out a cold scoff and grasped Clarabelle by her throat.
The poor creature instantly cried out in alarm.
“Let her go!” Yeverie cried out. Her eyes turned cold, and she charged straight at Mona instinctively, aiming a powerful punch at the latter's throat.
Silvius, amused by the scene, pointed with his finger and immobilized Yeverie with Ice Frost. Wrapping a possessive arm around her waist, he even dared to plant a kiss on her cheek.
“F*ck you!” Jonathan cursed aloud, his eyes blazing with fury. Yeverie is my woman! This humiliation, right before his eyes, was an unbearable affront.
“Let her go!” Jonathan roared.
Silvius reveled in Jonathan's rage, spurring him on. He turned to Mona and said, “Your Holiness, it seems this thief cares greatly for this woman. Since you despise him so, why not grant her to me as my mistress to vent your spite?”
“Agreed,” Mona replied immediately, her eyes gleaming with vindictive satisfaction.
She was usually a calm and composed person. However, she seemed unusually excited at Jonathan's fury, a rare display of mortal emotions. His rage soothed her resentment, offering a twisted sense of pleasure.
Silvius let out raucous laughter.
Yeverie's eyes welled up with tears as utter humiliation and helplessness swamped her. Yet, she could not move.
Jonathan's humiliation peaked, and his sense of despair intensified.
In that moment, he was overcome with regret. Given another chance, he would fight to the death and never compromise.
He had overestimated Lynn's mercy.
“Your Holiness!” Indignation filled Jonathan's eyes with tears as he implored Mona. “I know I deserve to die for my sins, but I beg you, do not harm Yeverie. If you let her go, I will do whatever you ask.”
“Jonathan!” Yeverie cried, heartbroken at his desperate plea. “Don't beg her! I can die, but I can't bear to see you like this.”
