CHAPTER XCIX

It was surprising that Luciano didn’t cry after reading the letter. He only squeezed the paper in his fists and looked at his brother dead in the eye. “Did the nurse give this to you?”
“No,” Lucas shook his head, waiting for his brother’s outburst. “I came across it in Don’s things when dad was sending him to the training school,”
“When was that?” Luciano asked, an edge to his voice. The storm in him was brewing. “Since when have you known about this letter and the whole truth?”
“Twelve years ago,” Lucas replied. “That was when we were fif-,”
Lucas didn’t get to finish. A punch was landed right on his nose and blood splattered from the spot he had been punched.
Luciano glared at his brother. “That’s for hiding the truth from me,”
Lucas lifted his fingers and touched the place where he had been punched. He stared at the blood sticking on his fingers and his lips curled into a smirk. “I expected it,”
The amusement in his eyes made Luciano angrier. “You should have fucking told me about it,”
“And have you hate everyone? No,” Lucas smiled. “You would have hated mum. We both know what your hatred feels like,”
“Now look who I hate,” Luciano snorted. He was acting all cool about it. “Does Val know about it?”This content provided by N(o)velDrama].[Org.
“You can’t hate me, Luci,” Lucas smirked. “Valerie knows about it,”
“So that’s why you were mean to Sophia?” Luciano walked to the table in front of the couch in the room and picked a pen, twirling it between his fingers. “You hated her because she’s our sister,”
“You won’t hate her, Luciano,” Lucas walked closer. “She’s innocent in all these. If anyone is to be hated, it should be Bennett fucking Agosti. I wish I could kill him all over,”
Luciano dropped the pen and turned to his brother. His lips curled up into a smirk and his brow lifted. “Pray tell me, why will I hate my own sister?”

Saige shut the bedroom door and hugged her robe to her body, her mind reeling back to the conversation she heard between Lucas and Luciano as she tried to digest it all in.
Sophia was their little sister. Sophia was the baby everyone thought had been birthed as a still-born.
She filled a glass with water from the jug on the bedside table and gulped it down. She sat down on the bed and ran her hands through her hair.
It was an obvious answer that Agosti had killed Bella so he could replace his still-born child with Sophia, but then, it felt like there was another reason for it.
It couldn’t be a co incidence that his wife and Bella were giving birth in the same hospital on the same day.
And then, if Chase knew Sophia was his cousin, why would he go ahead and fuck her?
There was more it and Saige knew it would help her get rid of Sophia. Indeed, finding out about Sophia’s real parent was enough to change her life.
But for that, she needed to get her hand on the note she had seen Luciano reading in Lucas’ room.
She was glad she went towards the pool after Chase’s rejection. Before she could get to the pool, she had overheard them talking about Luciano loving Sophia. She decided to hide in the shadows and listen to everything hoping to find something she could use to manipulate her way into getting rid of Sophia.
At the end, she got what she didn’t expect. She even followed the brothers to find out more and that was when Lucas had given Luciano the note their mum left for them.
For the first time, Saige was glad Chase rejected her. If he hadn’t rejected her, she wouldn’t have found out about something so powerful to use against Sophia.
She smiled.
All she needed was to get her hands on the letter so she would know the remaining details of Sophia’s birth.
It would help her know why Chase was fucking Sophia even after knowing she was his cousin.
Too bad, Saige didn’t know her quest for that note would be useless.
