Her Revenge Returns (Lea and Alfred)

Chapter 110

Chapter 110

Everyone got chills when Yannis said that. They couldn't help but look at Lea, ready to act. This kind of enemy couldn't be allowed to stay. As long as Lea gave the word, the group would brave any danger without hesitation.

Lea told the group, "It's okay now. I'll take care of the rest. You all go get some rest." They glanced at her, then at Alfred beside her. With him around, they felt reassured. "What about your health..." Lorrand was still worried.

Lea was dressed neatly and seemed fine on the surface. But anyone else in her situation would still be bedridden and unable to move. Her extraordinary willpower and physical stamina left everyone amazed and impressed. The events of last night would have been unbearable for any of them.

"I'm fine." As a doctor, Lea knew her own condition very well.

Everyone breathed a sigh of relief and returned to their posts, doing what they needed to do. They knew to wait for Lea and Alfred's instructions for the next steps.

To avoid upsetting Frank and given the time constraints, Lea didn't meet him in person. She followed Alfred to the hospital's CEO's office, where they watched Frank on surveillance. Yannis's punch had shattered Frank's sternum. He lay on the ground, writhing in pain but still spirited. There was no need to worry about him dying.

"This is my place. As long as I don't let him go, not even a fly will escape," Alfred said, his eyes sharp as he watched the man inside the monitor, thinking, 'If Frank weren't so useful, I would have had him dismembered for what he did to Lea last night!

"Okay." Leaving the matter to Alfred, Lea felt completely at ease.

Alfred switched to another surveillance feed taken by a drone, showing the area around the underground storage facility in the suburbs. Special police were swarming the place, gathering evidence.

Lea thought about the body parts she had seen inside, Frank's talk about using her organs, and Lorrand's wife and daughter. After a moment of reflection, she asked Alfred, "Can we involve Lorrand in the evidence investigation?"noveldrama

"Sure. They need the hospital's help anyway," Alfred agreed.

Lea contacted Q again, asking him to thoroughly investigate Frank. The military could investigate, and she would get their information, but only detectives like Q had the resources and skills to uncover every detail without missing anything. Then, using Q, she could expose all the secrets of Fraley Medical. That was her real goal.

With some time left before Lea's exam, Alfred asked, "How did you get kidnapped?" He planned to investigate the Berry family's old residence and root out the mole to ensure her safety. Last night, Alfred used the best people and technology but couldn't find Lea and had to search the entire city. In the end, it was Yannis who found a clue and led the group to the outskirts, where their people followed. The enemies they faced last night were deeply hidden and terrifying.

Lea thought for a moment and shook her head. "I don't know the details either. We'll need to investigate the old residence. We'll find out."

"Alright, I'll take you to the exam venue," Alfred said, grabbing his coat and her bag. They had just reached the elevator when Shannon, who had been waiting, ran up and hugged Lea tightly. "Lea!"

When Lea was found and brought to the hospital around 4 in the morning, Shannon intended to stay by her side to ensure her safety like the others. Chris knew Shannon had to take the SAT exam and said a few stern words, which made Shannon go back to sleep. "You're different from Lea. Even if she doesn't take the exam and leaves school, she'll have a bright future because of her abilities. But you don't have that background. This is your only path. You need to go to a better school, gain more skills, become capable, and take control of your destiny."

Chris admired Shannon's talent and knew how much she had suffered under her mother's abuse. Chris wanted a better future for Shannon and urged her with every word. "Lea also hopes you'll do well on your exam."

"I understand." Shannon nodded, determined. She knew this was the only way she could help herself and Lea in the future. "Thanks, Chris!" She returned to her hospital room to sleep, preparing for the exam.

Early this morning, Shannon waited for Lea to go to the exam venue together. Seeing Lea, Shannon couldn't hold back her emotions and rushed over to hug her tightly.

Lea gently patted her back. "Let's go take the exam together." Her voice was low but full of determination.

"Sure!" Shannon nodded vigorously, her voice choked with sobs. Despite the dark circles and red, swollen eyes due to the lack of sleep last night, she was excited and energized. There was nothing more motivating than this.

The three of them went downstairs, where Jason was already waiting in the car. Once they got in, the car headed towards the exam venue.

In the car, Shannon was nervous but, after last night, felt highly alert and confident despite only sleeping a few hours. She was reviewing her notes, using the car ride to study more.

Lea was calm. She checked the online news on her phone and asked Jason to turn on the car radio. Sure enough, they heard a news report. "According to reliable sources, a wealthy heiress was kidnapped. Fortunately, she was rescued by a military drone during a reconnaissance operation. She has been safely returned, and the authorities are currently handling the aftermath." The news had made the trending list, but barely. It was understated, without follow-up, lost in the daily urban chaos.

Lea tapped her phone, closing the page. The news had clearly been managed, skipping over the shocking details behind it. Even its trending status was likely artificially boosted. Such meticulous media handling was Chris's doing. It revealed the incident without giving away too much to confuse the mastermind behind it, buying Lea a significant amount of time. She pondered, 'It's time to call home and let them know I'm safe.' She dialed her grandfather's number.

At the Berry family residence, chaos reigned. Everyone was silent and fearful. Christian stood in the hall, his hair even whiter than before, his eyes swollen and red from lack of sleep. His presence was suffocating the servants.

"You don't know! You don't know! What do you guys know?" Christian roared in fury. "She was taken from right here." He pointed with his cane at the stairs. "Kidnapped." He continued, "There's security outside, surveillance cameras, and staff inside. How was she taken, and none of you know anything? Can't you find out? Did she simply fly away?"
