Chapter 840 Why Make Him Take Off His Clothes

Phoebe narrowed her eyes, lowered her arms, and walked up to him with an imposing aura, "Really? I don't know who sent you, Mr. Bryant, to impersonate my children's biological father, but you certainly are not him. If you know what's good for you, you'll leave immediately, or I'll call the police and charge you with fraud."

"No one sent me. That night, you were drunk and stumbled into my room. We had sex, and I still remember you..."

"Shut up!" Two voices rang out simultaneously.

Phoebe glanced at Theodore, who also happened to look at her at the same moment. Their eyes met, and Phoebe's heart skipped a beat.

She quickly turned to Vernon and said, "If you continue, it will be slander. Think carefully before you speak."

Vernon didn't expect Phoebe to be so difficult to deceive. Looking at Theodore standing beside her, he said angrily, "I know you're afraid to acknowledge me because your ex-husband is here. I'll give you time to think it over. After all, I am the biological father of the kids."

With that, he picked up his clothes and walked away with a swagger.

Madison didn't expect Vernon to be a fake, but she refused to admit it, convinced that Phoebe didn't want to acknowledge his identity.

She said, "Phoebe, what were you looking at just now? Why did you determine he wasn't the kids' biological father after he took off his clothes? Did you make a mistake? I think you should do a paternity test."

Theodore frowned, "Do you have nothing better to do?"

Madison felt uneasy under his gaze and said sheepishly, "Phoebe is your ex-wife, and I'm your sister. It's not easy for her to raise three kids alone. I just want to see their family reunited."

"Are you really that kind-hearted?" Phoebe mocked.

Madison's expression turned a bit awkward. With Vernon exposed, she had no reason to stay. She said awkwardly, "I know you have a bias against me. Fine, I'll just mind my own business. I'm leaving."

With that, she quickly left.

Outside the Empire State Building, she saw Vernon still lingering. She walked up to him quickly and glared at him, "Didn't you say you were the man who slept with Phoebe? How could she be so sure you weren't?"

"How would I know? I wasn't the one," Vernon said innocently.

"What?" Madison's eyes widened in disbelief as she stared at Vernon.

Vernon shrugged and said, "I said I wasn't the one. I don't even know her, and I never slept with her. The triplets aren't my children."

Madison was furious, "If you're not the one, why did you pretend to be him?"

"Didn't you say she was rich? I thought I'd give it a try. If I fooled her, I'd be the boss of Superstar Entertainment. I didn't expect she to be so sharp."

When Vernon mentioned room 8888, Phoebe seemed to believe it.

That meant room 8888 was a key, but she had him take off his clothes and then

determined he wasn't the one. How did she figure it out?

But it didn't matter. As long as the triplets' biological father didn't show up, he could use this to pester her.

Maybe Phoebe would take a liking to him when she felt lonely.

Madison was livid, "You're a fake, and you still dared to impersonate him. You really pissed me off. I thought I could embarrass her."

Vernon said, "I may be a fake now, but I might not be in the future. Don't worry, I have a plan."

Madison wanted to kick him. She turned and walked away, calling Sandra, "Where did you find such an unreliable guy? Phoebe saw through him immediately."

Sandra frowned, "How is that possible?"

"As soon as we arrived, Phoebe had him take off his clothes. After he did, she was sure he wasn't the one. Theodore was there too. You don't know how terrifying his gaze was. I'm still scared." Madison rubbed her arms.

If she had known Vernon was a fake, she wouldn't have brought him to Phoebe, let alone called Theodore to watch the show.

Now the show was ruined, and Theodore had a bad opinion of her.noveldrama

She was already struggling in the Reynolds family, and now that she had offended Theodore, her future would be even harder.

Sandra couldn't figure it out, "Why did Phoebe have him take off his clothes?"

"She just said she wanted to verify his identity. I don't know what she wanted to verify." Madison said angrily, "Anyway, don't involve me in such unreliable things in the future. You've made me a laughingstock."

With that, she hung up the phone.

Sandra clutched her phone, squinting in thought.

Phoebe had Vernon take off his clothes to verify his identity. What did she want to see, or what did Theodore have on his body that Phoebe remembered and used to identify that night?

At Superstar Entertainment, the farce ended, and Phoebe turned to walk to her office. Theodore stared at her back, standing still for a few minutes before walking into her office.

Phoebe sat behind her desk, looking down at a document, holding a pen and lightly biting the pen cap, looking very cute.

Theodore watched her, who seemingly unaffected by the recent events, and clenched his molars, "Aren't you going to explain what just happened?"

Phoebe paused, looked up at him, and said, "That guy is just a conman. What do I need to explain? Besides, I have no obligation to explain to you."

"Phoebe!"

Phoebe was indifferent to his anger, "You're injured. The doctor said you need to rest. You should go back."

Theodore's jawline tightened, "Why did you have him take off his clothes? What were you looking for?"

Phoebe's red lips pressed together. Even after three years, she still remembered that night. The man was on top of her, his features hidden in the dark, but there was a black butterfly on his collarbone, ready to take flight.

She remembered it so clearly that Vernon couldn't fool her.

"None of your business," Phoebe said coldly.

Theodore walked over, stopped in front of her chair, and used his injured hand to grip her chin, forcing her to look into his eyes.

The bitter smell of medicine filled her nose. Phoebe wanted to struggle but was afraid of hurting him further, so she stayed still.

Theodore curled his lips, "Didn't you tell me you were lonely and hired a gigolo? If it was consensual, why don't you know what he looks like and need him to take off his clothes to confirm?"

Phoebe's pupils trembled.

She knew that with Theodore's intelligence and sharpness, he would figure out why

she had Vernon take off his clothes. She gritted her teeth, "I just wanted to admire his

physique."

"Liar!" Theodore scolded lightly, "Phoebe, what happened that night, it wasn't consensual, was it? Otherwise, you would know what he looked like."

Phoebe's heart skipped a beat, "I was willing!"

Theodore's sharp eyes stared straight at her, as if he could see through her soul, "Then

why did you have that guy take off his clothes? What were you looking for?"
