Chapter 834 So Beautiful, Theodore

Theodore turned his head and saw her dazed expression. He sneered and continued walking towards the door, leaving Phoebe no choice but to follow.

The two of them exited the hospital one after the other. Lawton had just sent off the mother and child and turned around to see Theodore looking displeased.

He quickly said, "Mr. Reynolds, I'll go get the car."

Phoebe stood next to Theodore and said, "I promised Evelyn I'd cook for you. Now that your hand is injured, if you have any other needs, I can help with those too." Theodore glanced at her, noticing her eager expression, and his eyes darkened.

She had previously tried every way to stay away from him, but now she was desperately trying to get close, just because he had saved an unrelated child?

He leaned down slightly, his thin lips almost touching her ear. "Can you satisfy all my other needs too?"

Phoebe moved aside, feeling as if his breath was burning her ear. What she had just said was indeed a bit misleading.

"I meant cooking, washing dishes, cleaning, and of course, washing your hair. Just those things," Phoebe said.

Theodore sneered, and it was unclear whether he was laughing at her timidity or her overestimation of herself. Either way, the laughter made her feel very uncomfortable.

Lawton soon drove the car over. Theodore got into the back seat and saw Phoebe standing outside, counting the tiles on the ground. He said coldly, "Aren't you going to cook for me? Get in the car."

Phoebe quickly looked up and met his deep eyes for a few seconds before getting into the back seat.

The car drove off, and the cabin was so quiet you could hear a pin drop. Lawton kept his eyes on the road. When they passed a grocery store, Phoebe said, "Let me off here; I need to pick up a few things."

Lawton glanced at Theodore and then pulled over. "Ms. Ziegler, what do you need to buy? I can go for you."

"No need, you take Mr. Reynolds back to Imperial Apartment. I'll go shopping and head back myself.". Phoebe said. opening the car door and getting out.

As soon as she stood on the sidewalk, someone followed her out. She turned around and saw Theodore standing next to her.

She was puzzled. "Why did you get out too?"noveldrama

"I need to pick up something too. Let's go together," Theodore said, striding towards the supermarket.

Phoebe quickly followed.

Inside the store, Phoebe pushed a cart and followed Theodore to the fresh produce section. Despite the dust on his coat, it didn't affect his cold and noble demeanor.

Along the way, many young women kept glancing at him. If she hadn't been following him, someone might have asked for his WhatsApp.

In the fresh produce section, there were fish, shrimp, and meat. Considering he had lost a lot of blood today, Phoebe decided to buy some bones to make a nourishing soup.

While the store clerk was weighing the bones, Theodore's phone rang. He stepped aside to take the call.

From his conversation, Phoebe could tell it was Taylor, who had probably heard about his car accident.

Taylor was eager to see him.

After hanging up, Phoebe looked at him. "Is your mom coming? Maybe I should avoid her today and come back tomorrow."

"What, scared she'll see you and realize what a disaster you are?" Theodore mocked.

Phoebe remained silent.

With an attitude like his, he was bound to stay single.

Phoebe took a deep breath and said, "I just thought it would be better for you and your mother to talk without me, an outsider, around."

Theodore felt a pang in his heart when she referred to herself as an "outsider." He sneered, "If you're just an outsider, then there's no need to tiptoe around, right?"

Phoebe glanced at him, sensing his displeasure, and said no more.

The atmosphere remained tense. When they went to check out, Theodore threw down his wallet and walked out, leaving the cashier puzzled.

"Is that your husband? He has a terrible temper," the cashier couldn't help but mutter.

Phoebe smiled politely, put the wallet in her pocket, paid with her phone, and then carried the bags outside.

It was already dark outside. Theodore stood by the street, smoking, his tall figure looking lonely. Phoebe walked over slowly, and he took the bags from her.

Phoebe quickly tried to take them back. "They're not heavy; I can carry them."

Theodore didn't say a word and carried the bags towards Imperial Apartment. It was about a mile away, two blocks from here.

The streetlights suddenly lit up one by one, like a galaxy, illuminating the world. Phoebe's eyes sparkled.

"So beautiful, Theodore." Phoebe turned and met Theodore's gaze. Realizing she had just called him by his name, her smile froze slightly.

She expected Theodore to mock her again, but he just nodded, looking up at the streetlights.

He often walked this road but had never noticed that the streetlights had been replaced. The new lights were shaped like lotus flowers and looked beautiful when lit.

He turned to look at Phoebe, the light softly illuminating her features. When they returned to Imperial Apartment, Taylor and Riley were waiting outside. Seeing them come back together, Taylor felt very conflicted.

On one hand, she hoped they could be together. On the other hand, thinking about Phoebe having given birth to triplets for someone else made her uncomfortable. Phoebe greeted them politely.

Hurry and open the door. Riley and I have been getting eaten alive by mosquitoes out here. The autumn mosquitoes are relentless." Theodore was carrying the bags and had an injured hand, so Phoebe had to open the door.

Seeing her skillfully use the fingerprint scanner, Taylor couldn't help but glance at Theodore, who walked in expressionlessly.

She sighed silently and followed him in.

Riley carried the bags and followed Phoebe into the kitchen.

The kitchen was spotless, thanks to the housekeeper. Riley put the groceries in the fridge, leaving a bag of chicken out.

"This chicken is good for the body. I'll cook it later. Theodore needs to recuperate well," Riley said to Phoebe with a smile.

Phoebe stood by the counter, watching Riley wash and blanch the chicken. The chicken looked no different from regular chicken.

From the living room, she could hear Taylor and Theodore talking, probably asking about his injury and how the car accident happened.

Theodore briefly explained, and his voice gradually lowered.

Taylor looked at Theodore's pale face and asked in a low voice, "Theodore, what are you thinking now?"

Theodore frowned. "What do you mean?"

"About her," Taylor said, nodding towards the kitchen. Even though she was uncomfortable with the existence of the triplets, with the Reynolds family's resources, they could afford to raise them.

If Theodore still insisted on being with Phoebe, it wasn't impossible to remarry, but she had conditions.

Theodore's frown deepened. "Don't worry about it. I know what I'm doing."
