Being held up by Jacob at the school gate for a while, Alison and Alexa missed the bus and ended up returning to their villa district ten minutes later than usual.

It was already seven o'clock. As the sun went down, the whole sky became suffused with a red glow.

Fascinated, Alexa took out her phone, wanting to take photos.

"Come, Alison. Stand there, in front of me, and I'll take a photo for you. I bet your silhouette would look awesome against the setting sun!"

Alison was a bit shy. Apart from taking a set of photos with Alexa last Saturday, she had not had many other photos, let alone posing and letting someone take a personal portrait like this for her.

She carefully took a few steps forward and asked without confidence, "You mean standing here?"

"A bit further, baby. Yes, that's it. Lower your head a bit, and eyes to the front! Keep at it!"

Adjusting herself following Alexa's instruction, Alison's cheeks turned red. She had never posed so deliberately like this before. Thankfully, there was no one around watching, or she might stand more mechanically there.

At the sight of Luis, Alison froze for a moment and quickly put her arms down as if she had never posed. Biting her lip, she stood there in nervousness, "Luis..."

Luis stopped his bike and put one of his legs down. He looked at her, "Why so late today?"

The Lynch family would have dinner at about six forty in the evening each day and Alison would usually come back from school at around this time. Luis knew that.

But today, Alison came back later than usual and seemed to be still playing with her friend on the way.

Giving a sideway glance at Luis, Alexa went to Alison's side and locked arms with her. "You have no idea! A former classmate of Alison, a boy, came to our school to find her today. We had a chat about the old days and that was why we were delayed."

Alison was a bit embarrassed by what Alexa said, but Alexa was telling the truth.

"A boy?"

Luis looked at Alison as if he was seeking confirmation from her. But then he just narrowed his long and slightly upcurved eyes, "Aunt Alexis is waiting for us for dinner. Just get on the bike."

"You go back first, Luis. I'll walk with Alexa."

Alexa winked at Luis complacently, hearing Alison's refusal.

Luis seemed a bit annoyed, "This district is the safest place in the world, and you do not have to worry about her. Just get on.

They are all waiting for us. You'd better not walk slowly back."

Alison was in a dilemma now, while Alexa snorted at Luis's words. She knew that Luis did it on purpose, but she didn't want to make things difficult for Alison. "It's alright, Alison. You go back first. I want to take more photos here! The sunset looks wonderful from this angle!"

Alison wanted to say more, yet Alexa pushed her to Luis's bike, urging, "Come on! It's nothing. It's dinner time anyway. See you tomorrow!"

Looking at their backs and then at the photo she just took for them, Alexa snorted again, "I will swallow this photo if Luis doesn't have a crush on Alison!"

She saw it. She noticed how Luis's face had darkened when she mentioned that a boy had chatted with Alison today.

"Are you on such a good term with your former classmates?"
