Falling for My Contractual Wife

Chapter 690

Grace glanced at him. "What's wrong? Does it have anything to do with you?"

"Grace, I'm not trying to stop you from making friends. I just don't think it's appropriate for you to be too close to him," Brian said.

Grace frowned slightly. "Do you think I'm too close to him or I'm having an affair with him?"

"No!" Brian said, "Grace, he's not a good person. I suspect that the person who knocked you out at the beach was sent by him."

Grace's eyes widened in shock and she denied Brian's guess after a moment. "That's impossible as he wouldn't do that. He has helped me a lot. He did use me, but he wouldn't go so far as to kill me."

"You may not have a grudge against him, but he has a grudge against me," Brian said.

Grace was stunned for a moment before understanding his implication. "You mean he used me to get to you? To harm you?"

Brian frowned. "Why? Don't you believe me?"

"I know he's always wanted to be seen as a respectable member of the Francis family. But you and he share the same blood, being half-brothers. How could he possibly try to kill you?" Grace reasoned.

Brian shook his head. "Grace, you're too trusting. People aren't as kind as you think, especially not Nelson."

Grace questioned, "Have you investigated about this? Have you found out that the person who pushed me into the sea is related to Nelson?"

"I haven't found anything yet, but I received a mysterious message that day saying that you went to the beach. That's why I went there. Think about it. Did Nelson know about your trip to the beach?"

Grace pursed her lips. Nelson knew that she would go to the beach as he was the one telling her that Austin might still be alive. That was why she went there.

She stared at her toes with a solemn expression. After a while, she shook her head. "I don't believe it, and I don't want to assume that. But if you present solid evidence, I'll stay away from him."

Brian pinched his eyebrows helplessly. "Grace, would you rather believe an outsider than me now?"

"I'm not believing in him. I'm just staying neutral. If you want to say that he has ulterior motives and wants to harm you, you have to show me evidence to make me believe you," Grace explained

"Alright, I will find evidence," Brian said firmly.

Grace felt a little frustrated and pushed him away. "I'm going up to sleep."

Brian followed her. "Honey, you're not leaving me, are you?"

"I'm not your honey!" Grace ignored him and went back to her room.

The next day, Brian took Austin to school and then went to a luxury store.

"Mr. Brian, are you here to pick up the rings?" the salesperson asked.

Brian nodded. "Is it ready?"

"It's done. I'll get it for you now." Soon, the salesperson brought over a pair of diamond rings for Brian to check.

The diamond ring was hexagon-shaped and made from Kashmir, sapphire. The ring band is intertwined with the initials of both him and Grace, symbolizing them never parting ways in life. noveldrama

He had personally designed these two rings. After returning to the city, he had
