Chapter 556 Accommodating Her Needs

Upon hearing this, Flora grabbed Aletta’s hand and comforted her, “Don’t think too much for now. They are healthy now, aren’t they? They should be fine, so don’t be too pessimistic. Your body is still recovering, and it’s not good for you to overthink.”

Aletta glanced at the courtyard where the children were happily playing and laughing.

Their faces were filled with joy. She felt soothed by just looking at them.

Perhaps, the matter wasn’t as bad as she had imagined.

With this in mind, Aletta managed to calm herself and said, “All right, I’ll stop thinking about it.”

Later in the evening, Jason returned home, Ray following.

Seeing Aletta in the living room, Ray smiled and greeted her, “Aletta, I’m here for a free meal. I hope you don’t mind.”

“Of course not!” Aletta smiled and took off Jason’s suit jacket from him, hanging it on the armrest of the sofa.

This simple gesture felt like that of an old married couple who had lived together for many years.

Flora teased as she watched, “Aletta is truly a virtuous woman.”

“Wasn’t she virtuous before?” Ray asked.

Flora whispered to him, “She was virtuous before she divorced Jason,

but after the divorce, she became a capable workaholic!”

Ray laughed and agreed, “That’s a perfect match with Jason. He used. to be a workaholic too.”

The two whispered to each other for a while before the butler came to invite them for dinner.

After they all sat down, they tacitly avoided mentioning the distressing matters and enjoyed a sumptuous dinner.

Afterwards, Aletta and Flora played with the children in the courtyard, where laughter and joy filled the air.

Jason and Ray sat in the pavilion, sipping wine.

After taking a sip, Jason turned to Ray and asked, “How is it?”

After a moment of contemplation, Ray truthfully replied. “I have observed Jenny’s behaviour, which appears as normal as an ordinary person. However, when it comes to you and Aletta, she exhibits an inexplicable stubbornness. Moreover, based on my initial judgment, she may have some psychological issues. More specifically, she could be suffering from Paranoid Personality Disorder, but further confirmation is needed to find out the exact reasons.”

Ray paused, furrowing his brow with some hesitation.

Jason noticed his hesitation and said, “Just tell me.”

Ray nodded and continued, “It would be difficult to determine the exact cause of her behaviour. After all, Jenny is unlikely to admit her problem, and it’s also unlikely for her to cooperate with psychological counselling. People with Paranoid Personality Disorder tend to interpret any disagreement as malicious intent.”

Upon hearing this, Jason nodded thoughtfully.

As they were engaged in conversation, Eaton entered from outside.

He first glanced at the nearby group consisting of Aletta.

Seeing that their attention was not focused on him, he reported, “Mr. Hill, we find out something from the investigation on Jenny.”

Jason raised an eyebrow, signalling him to continue.

Eaton leaned closer and spoke in a low voice, “On the day we left the country, Jenny met Joe… They met at a café. I tried to get surveillance footage from that café, but it had been hacked and cannot be restored.”

Upon hearing this, Ray couldn’t help but interject, “Why is Joe involved again? Wasn’t she taken away by her family?”

“She was taken away, but she managed to escape,” Eaton replied, equally puzzled.

Ray tried to link all the clues together. He looked at Jason and said, “Could it be related to Joe, the troublemaker?”

Jason’s face turned grim. He knew that Jenny’s behaviour must have something to do with Joe. novelxo.com fast update

With this thought in mind, a heavy sense of murderous intent emanated from Jason, even Eaton and Ray could sense it.

Ray sighed and said, “Jason, Aletta is here. Don’t let her find out.”

Jason restrained his murderous expression and ask Eaton, “Do you know her whereabouts?”

Eaton shook his head and replied, “No, but we have already started the investigation.”

Jason’s voice was mixed with coldness as he conveyed his orders, “Find her as soon as possible.”

Eaton nodded and said, “I will get her as quickly as possible.”

After making this decision, Jason turned to Ray and asked, “If we forcibly send Jenny over, can you treat her with hypnosis?”

Jenny’s condition could no longer be left unchecked.

After pondering for a moment, Ray said carefully, “Psychological therapy is effective when the patient willingly participates. We might trigger her subconscious resistance by forcing her into treatment. Jenny won’t admit that she has an illness, and this will make the treatment even more challenging. I suggest we use gentle means to bring her over, and then I can give it a try.”

Upon hearing this, Jason remained silent for a moment and made a decision, “I’ll bring her over tomorrow.”

“All right,” Ray responded.

Just as the two finished their discussion, Aletta and the others approached.

As soon as he saw Aletta, Jason’s facial expression turned soft and tender in just a second.

Ray noticed and thought to himself, “Jason has mastered the art of changing his demeanour skilfully!”

Jason ignored Ray and led Aletta to sit down. He gazed at her tenderly and asked, “Why not play a little longer?”

Aletta shook her head. “I’m tired.”

“Take a rest,” Jason said, accommodating her needs. His tone was so gentle that it could make others feel jealous.

Next, he took out a handkerchief and carefully wiped her sweat away.

Aletta smiled calmly, she sat still and enjoyed the service.

After that, Jason poured her a glass of warm water, which Aletta obediently drank.

The warmth between the two was evident and anyone nearby could sense it without words.

Ray couldn’t bear it any longer and exclaimed, “Tsk!”

He commented, “Why am I still feeling jealous even though I’m not single? I want to get Flora and show off some affection too!”

With that, he stood up and left, looking for Flora.

Aletta couldn’t help but laugh at his hurried departure, finding his figure amusing.
