Escaped My Ex Got Snatched

Chapter 55

55 Stupidity and Arrogance (2)

“Good… Good afternoon, Miss Glynn. Did something happen? Why did you come to our humble space?” The head of the department, Mister Smith, walked inside the chamber of the divorce finalizing. He was wearing a greasy smile while rubbing his thick han Is together. He was a tall man with a sloppy appearance, but despite his poor performance and attitude, he was able to clinch the position of the head of the department in just a few years.

It was all thanks to his skills and flattery that he

offered to the rich.

“You are finally here, Mister Smith,” Glynn who was sitting on the chair in front of the counter, 1 th her arms crossed along with her legs, turned to look at the man who entered the chamber. “It’s nothing much,” she tapped on the documents in front of her and

remarked, “I am here to get these documents finalized but your employee…” she sighed with a click of her tongue. “She is quite thick-headed, ain’t she?”

Glynn’s gaze darkened as she questioned, “Makes me wonder whether we should have a little change in the

leadership. I mean, if you cannot even make these people understand that they need to lower their heads in front of influential people like me. What are you even doing?”

When Mister Smith heard Glynn’s words, he stiffened. He looked at the officer who had refused to accept Glynn’s request and then reprimanded her “What are you doing? Is Miss Nelson someone you can ignore?”

“I am not ignoring her, Sir,” the officer felt wronged as she tried to explain the situation. “Miss Nelson wants me to finalize the divorce of her brother and

sister-in-law but neither of them are present. If we finalize their divorce agreement and in case hey were to object, then the ones who would be in trouble will

be us.”

Of course, Mister Smith knew this as well. But for a long time, the wealthy were allowed to do whatever they wanted. Unlike Glynn, they were the ones who worked their asses off for the salary that was worth the bag that Glynn had in her hands!

They were not in the position of questioning Glynn or anyone else in the same position as her, much less

stopping her from doing what she wanted. a

Glynn, who heard the accusatory words of the woman, raised a brow and questioned, “Do you mean to say that I am doing something wrong?”

“That–”

“Of course not, Miss Glynn,” Mister Smith glared at the woman who was acting foolish. He pointed at her and scolded the officer, “What are you doing? ince Miss Glynn is the one who brought the divorce papers, surely she must have her reasons for doing so. Just do as she says.”

“But Sir–”

“Fewer words, more work!” Mister Smith sn pped at the officer harshly, causing the latter to withdraw. She looked at Glynn who was staring at her smugly and then at Mister Smith who was glaring at her while silently signing for her to act along with Glynn’s

wishes.

The officer did not wish to submit to Glynn’s

unreasonable demands but then–

“Miss Evelyn, I guess you would rather not keep the position for which you have worked so hard?” Mister Smith said to Evelyn, who stiffened. She looked at her

boss who was threatening her and then at Glynn who seemed pleased by his actions.

Evelyn knew that she couldn’t lose her job, after all, her mother was still waiting for the money for her

treatment.

However, she did not give in as easily as Mister Smith thought. Evelyn raised her head and look 1 at Mister Smith before questioning, “Mister Smith, you mean to say that I have permission to finalize these documents that Miss Glynn brought with her?”

Mister Smith was a bit surprised when he heard Evelyn’s words, but he still nodded and said “That’s right. You have my permission, I want you t clear this matter for Miss Glynn as soon as possible.”

“Very well then,” Evelyn, hearing the response of Mister Smith, nodded and went to finalize the

documents. 2

When Glynn saw Evelyn bow her head, she snorted and stood up from the chair. She harshly rebuked the

officer, “That’s what you should have done when I was being nice, dumbass.”

Evelyn clenched the papers in her hands while

watching Glynn and Mister Smith leave. As the door closed, Evelyn’s gaze fell on the phone that was in recording mode and muttered, “We will see who is the dumbass.”

“Forgive me for your bad experience, Miss Nelson,” outside the chambers, Mister Smith was s ll sucking

up to Glynn. He was worried that in case Glynn was truly upset because of what happened inside the chambers, she might complain to her brother.

Glynn snorted. She tucked a strand of loose hair behind her ear and said, “You are intelligent Mister Smith. It’s just a shame that if you don’t rein in your subordinates, sooner or later, you will offend someone you should not.”

When Mister Smith heard Glynn’s response, he

panicked. He wanted to plead with Glynn as he was worried that she might cause trouble for him, but the latter did not give him a chance as she walked past

him.

“Miss Glynn, oh no… Wait! Please listen to me,” Mister Smith was eager to curry favour with the Nelson

family, so how come he ended up offending the young miss of the Nelson family?

Inwardly he blamed Evelyn for causing such trouble for

him.

However, no matter how much Mister Smith tried to stop Glynn, the latter swaggered past him. She wanted to pressurize the man and, at the same tin e teach that

that woman think she was?

Feeling satisfied with her actions of provoki g Mister Smith who would certainly make things difficult for Evelyn, Glynn walked past the Civil Affairs building

then

“OUCH!”
