Noah felt his heart shudder. The feeling surprised him as he never thought that he would feel an ounce of emotion for Ariana. Thus, it shocked him when he felt his heart thump painfully when Ari mentioned divorce.
However, he curled his lips in disdain, “Ari, do you think that you can win my affection by acting like this?”
He thought that Ari was only saying this because she wanted to regain his attention. Noah did not take her threat seriously at all, in fact, his feelings of disdain towards Ari thickened even more.
“I don’t care what you think,” Ari felt tears prick her eyes but she did not shed them. She blinked them away despite her rapidly paling face.
Ari could not believe that even at this point Noah was looking at her with disgust. “You can call me whatever you want, attention seeking wh*re or whatnot, it’s over between us.”
She smiled wretchedly and then said, “It’s fine if you don’t want to believe me. Once I serve the papers, you will know if I was trying to attract your attention or speaking the truth.”
Maybe she was the foolish one who thought that she could melt this man’s cold heart. She wasted three years of her life for nothing.
AriShe turned to walk out of the room without caring about Noah or Ariel. At this point, she just wanted to get away from these two people who were supposed to be the closest to her, but they continued to hurt her again and again.
Ari wanted to drive her fists into the two of them. She wanted to tear those two fuckers into bits but Ari knew that she couldn’t. It was like going against the world, and she did not have the strength to go against the world.NôvelDrama.Org holds text © rights.
Inside the private room, everyone turned to look at Noah and Ariel. They did not know what to say or how to break the awkward silence.
Ariel looked at Noah who had gone silent. She cursed Ariana for affecting Noah before she softened her stance and then said, “It is my fault. I should have never come back from Mosvil. If I had never returned this wouldn’t have happened.”
“What are you saying girl?” Josie felt sorry for Ariel. If she had an ungrateful sister like Ari, she would have killed her long ago. Ariel was way too kind for her own good. Josie walked over to where Ariel was standing and took her hands, “You shouldn’t blame yourself. You are not at fault, it’s your sister…she just cannot stand to see you happy. Three years ago she sent you away and took your place even when she knew that Noah loved you…now she is ruining your happiness like this.”
She paused and then turned to look at Noah before saying, “Anyway, Noah loves you and that is what matters.”
Noah snapped out of his daze and nodded. “Yes, I love you and not Ariana, Ariel.”
Ariel pretended to be touched before shaking her head as if she was distraught and said, “I should go and look for Ari, if she does something stupid then how will I face her?”
With that said she chased after Ariana, looking really worried and concerned.
However, as soon as she arrived outside the club and saw Ari walking away, her worried expression turned malicious.
“Yo. Are you happy after ruining my party? Why can’t you just stick in your corner, Ariana?” Ariel spoke harshly as she glared at Ari hatefully.
She hated how Ari could look more beautiful than her so effortlessly even with mascara dripping down her eyes and cheeks. Instead of looking hideous and ugly, Ari looked vulnerable and pitiful.
How could this woman look so good? She was supposed to be her stepping stone! The attention of Noah and everyone else should be on her and not Ariana!
Ari paused and turned to look at Ariel. Her aching heart started to hurt even more.
She truly cared for Ariel.
She knew that because of her, Ariel suffered a lot. When she was born, the family’s financial situation became even more tight.
On top of that, her father lost his job as soon as Ari was born causing their mother to become the sole breadwinner of the family. Her sister hated her because she felt that Ari was the jinx of the family. Ari was willing to lower her head as she also believed the same but she had given her scholarships, including the credit of saving Noah to Ariel.
Ari felt like she had done enough for Ariel but her elder sister was never satisfied, wanting more and more to the point she started to interfere in Ari’s relationship with Noah by feeding him who knows what kind of lies.
‘Maybe I gave too much than she deserved,’ Ari thought. ‘Maybe I should have put my foot down long ago before she took me for granted.’
There was a moment of silence as the two sisters looked at one another. Ariel curled her upper lips and crossed her arms before sneering, “What? Are you going to say how could I do this to you? You deserve this Ari. Don’t forget, because of you, our family lost everything. You coming to our life was your biggest mistake and you should keep making up for it for the rest of your life.”
She scoffed and then tucked a strand of hair before saying, “Anyway it’s your fault that you tried to take Noah away. Since he loved me so much…” Ariel looked over at Ari and snickered softly, “You were not even fit for my replacement, Ari. You were never anything.”
Ari choked down her tears, she was the one in the wrong for feeling bad for this selfish bi*ch. She steeled her heart and confronted Ariel, “And you think that you are something huh, sister?” She smiled at Ariel tearfully before saying, “The only reason you are in Noah’s heart is because of me.” She raised her hand and patted Ariel on the cheek before continuing,
“I gave you that place out of charity. Not only that, the reason you can become an actress is because I…threw pennies in your bowl that you pushed in front of me while begging me to give you alms.” Ari laughed hysterically before shaking her head as she watched the smile slide off Ariel’s face. ” Everything that you have now, sister… it’s all because of me.” Ari pursed her lips and nodded at Ariel who was glaring at her.
She blinked both of her eyes at Ariel and then said, “That’s right. Without me, you are nothing, Ariel Harlow.”
Ariel wanted to snap at Ari but she heard the sound of footsteps coming from behind and her expression changed as she twisted her feet and fell on her back.
“WHAT ARE YOU DOING?”
