Chapter 31 You Must Follow My Orders In The Future
Chapter 31 You Must Follow My Orders In The Future
I pressed my lips together in embarrassment at being exposed that I had created this coincidental
meeting on purpose. Then I picked up his phone and entered my number.
"Tomorrow, I will send someone to take your father to the best hospital in City A for surgery. You don't
have to worry."
Just when I didn't have any good feelings towards Brandon, what he said made me feel a little grateful
to him. It turned out that this man was still had human emotions and wasn't as cold as he looked.
"Thank you."
I lowered my head, clasped my hands together, and thanked him in a low voice.
Even though Brandon's request was a little overstepping my boundaries, I still didn't blame him
because he had given me the 200,000 dollars to save my father's life. I knew that there was no such
thing as a free lunch.
Soon, the car stopped in front of Evie's house. I heaved a long sigh of relief. I opened the car door and
was about to get out, but he stopped me.
"Remember, you must follow my orders in the future. Also, don't disturb me without cause!"
His voice was cold and commanding. His superior attitude made me feel a little uncomfortable, but I
didn't say anything.
"I understand. Don't worry, I won't cause you any trouble."
I wasn't stupid. I could read between the lines of what he said. He did not want our relationship to be
known to the public because to him, I was his secret lover. If our relationship got out, it would affect his
reputation.
People in the upper class were all very hypocritical, so I was not surprised at all. On the contrary, I was
a little glad that he said so. After all, I didn't want others to know about my shameful relationship with
him.
After Brandon's car left, I let out a long sigh of relief and went upstairs. Even though it took a little work,
I was glad that I got the 200,000 dollars.
My father would be saved, and this made me very happy. As long as my father was safe and sound, I
was willing to give up anything.
Back at Evie's house, I learned that Evie was still running around and borrowing money for me. I was
touched. After all, in my most difficult time, she was the only one willing to help me and encourage me.
I called her and told her that I had gotten the money and asked her to come home immediately.
After more than half an hour, Evie finally returned home, panting. As soon as she entered the house,
she rushed to the refrigerator before I could say anything. She opened the refrigerator and took out a
bottle of mineral water and took a few big gulps. This text is property of Nô/velD/rama.Org.
"Evie, what's wrong? Why are you so thirsty?"
I walked up to her and looked at her with a worried expression.
"I just went to borrow money from several friends. They kept giving me ridiculous reasons to refuse me.
I'm so angry!"
Evie drank a few more large mouthfuls of water before looking at me and speaking angrily.
Hearing what she said, I knew that she was definitely helping me borrow money everywhere. For a
moment, I was even more touched.
"Evie, you don't have to worry about the money anymore. I've already gotten enough money."
I walked up to her and gave her a hug. Because of what she just said, my voice became a little choked.
At the most difficult moment of my life, I was really touched that a friend could help me without
hesitation.
"Really? You got the money? Who did you borrow the money from?"
Hearing my answer, Evie looked at me in surprise and hurriedly asked.
I knew that Evie would ask such a question, but I didn't know how to answer her. I didn't want her to
know about me and Brandon.
"You don't have to worry about where I got the money. The point is, I got enough to cover all the
medical expenses my dad needs, so he can do the surgery tomorrow."
I deliberately changed the subject and didn't want to continue talking about the money.
"I'll go with you to uncle's surgery tomorrow."
Looking at me carefully, she knew that I must have my own difficulties if I didn't want to say it, so she
didn't ask me any more questions.
"Thank you, Evie."
I looked into her eyes and thanked her sincerely.
"We're friends, there's no need to be so polite. Hollie, your problems are mine too."
She put her arms around my shoulders with a generous expression. Actually, I could tell that she was
putting on a show because she was embarrassed by my words.
After having a casual dinner, I went to bed early because my father was going to have an operation
tomorrow. I had to be energetic. My father was in poor health and needed someone to take care of him
after the operation, so I had to take good care of myself.
The next day, when I was about to go back to my hometown to pick up my father for surgery, my
mother suddenly called me and told me that they had arrived at the best hospital in City A.
When I arrived, my father had already been checked into a VIP ward with a personal nurse to take care
of him.
"Mom, how did you get to the hospital?"
I looked at my father, who was still lying on the bed, and then looked at my mother and asked in a low
voice.
"Didn't you ask your friend to pick me and your father up? Your friend is really nice. He sent a large car
because he knew that your father couldn't take the long journey."
After hearing my question, my mother smiled. But what she said made me frown in confusion. When
had I asked a friend to pick up my parents?
And when did I have such a generous friend? The only friend I had here was Evie, who had never done
such a thing. Could it be...
Brandon Sutton?
As soon as this idea came to my mind, I was sure that it was him. I remembered that when we
separated last night, he said that he would take my father to the best hospital. I thought he wasn't
serious, so I didn't take it seriously either. I didn't expect him to be so efficient.
It was only nine o'clock in the morning. It would take at least six or seven hours to come here from my
hometown. Did Brandon send someone to pick up my parents in the middle of the night?
An unrecognisable emotion flashed across my heart suddenly. I was thankful to Brandon, but at the
same time, there was something else there.
"Hollie, what are you thinking about? Why are you so distracted?"
Just as I was lost in my thoughts about Brandon, my mother patted me on the shoulder and looked at
me in confusion.
I suddenly came back to my senses. When I saw my mother's caring eyes, I panicked and quickly
looked away. "No, I was just thinking about some work."
I didn't dare to mention Brandon in front of my parents again. My father would be really angry if he
knew about the deal I had made with Brandon.
