"Than was just delivering something..." Hector answers my subtle eye movement to him as I settle into his lap.
The tension from when I entered the room was only thickening, to the point of suffocating.
So this was his brother, the one that has usurped his pack...
His eyes hold a privileged look to them, especially when looking at me. Holding my chin high, I nestle into Hector's lap more...I'm not completely there but as the days continue I was starting to accept our bond. Something telling me to show this male that we are united, that we are mates. "Than..." I let his name roll off my tongue.
I didn't recognise the face but maybe saying his name would stir a memory, but no, nothing.
Hector's grip on me getting tightens. I turn my head behind to look at him, his eyes were solely focused on the male before us. He didn't seem to like me being in here with his brother, they had some kind of history.
Both males glare at one another, both fighting for dominance.
"Have I met you before?" I ask out.
"Yes." Than clears his throat, his eyes momentarily shifting from Hector's onto me. Hector shifts in his seat as if preparing to launch me behind him and dive over the table.
What was with him.
"I'm sorry, I have amnesia.." I start but Hector cuts me off.
"You don't apologise to him Kaia, you never apologise to him."
This was more than an answer, this had a command behind it. I could feel his aura trying to force me to submit on this. Perplexed by his behaviour I accept what he wants of me, I trust Hector and if he doesn't want me making pleasantries with Than, then I won't. "Alora..." Than starts but seems to choke as soon as he mentions her name. His eyes slam shut he mentions my sister's name.
In fact, his entire demeanour changes as he mentions my sister. I could smell the alcohol pouring out of him, this wasn't a happy person.
This person was tormented.
"She is a member of my pack now, she is under my leadership." My eyes narrow, if he thinks I will let her leave to be in a toxic relationship with him....
He may have had his parent's protection when it came to Hector but the Nightshade Reformed pack is mine and she is my sister.
He won't have control over her or me.
A sinister look enters onto his eyes, he's true self perhaps coming through.
1 stand up from Hector's lap, a growl rumbling in my chest from his challenge.
In this moment I wasn't Hector's Luna, I was an Alpha and responsible for the safety of my sister and my pack.
"Kaia, why don't you give us a minute alone.." Hector stands behind me, his command whispering into my
ear.
It isn't strong, it isn't meant to cause me pain...I can fight it.
But I don't want to, I don't want to be in the same room as this male. Something deep rooted within me is telling me to leave, to not be near him.
As I close the door I shake off a strange sensation...like déjà vu again.
I get that a lot, it usually means I have met someone or been somewhere before.
I have no doubt that I have met Than before. I must have done if he is Alora's mate.
I head into the kitchen, pulling my phone out of my short's pocket to call Alora. I let the phone ring out a few times but she doesn't answer, which is unlike her. I hope she isn't annopyed at me for not checking in for the last few days....
"Luna, are you okay?" Aubrey asks as she walks into the kitchen, finding me with my phone in my hand and my eyes on the closed office door.
Her own eyes turning to the now closed office door.
"Hector is with his brother, I think they need some time alone."
Her eyes consider mine for a moment, her mouth slightly opened.
I wanted to call Alora, I had so many questions but how would it help her knowing her mate was here, especially if she decided to leave him.
Hector might have marked me but he did it to save me, he did it because I am his mate and he couldn't
lose me.
I get that now... He made a choice in the moment, and truthfully can I say I wouldn't have done the same
thing..
It's his actions after arriving here that have shown me what kind of a mate he is, what I mean to him. Alora left the pack she grew up in, left her mate...whether it was to find me or not. Something tells me she did that for a reason, that she left him for a reason. "Luna?" Aubrey touches my hand which was still holding my phone.
Suddenly an overwhelming sense to shower takes over me.
