Darling, Please Love Me Again! (Gisele Meyer)

Chapter 5

Chapter 5

“Madam Gisele, that soup… You’d let / slammer for quite some time. It’s nicely done now.

What a shame to pour it out.

“Mr. Dorian will be back at the manor today. The lentil soup would be nourishing for hist delicate stomach,” Jessie spoke quickly, then cleverly muted the call and showed her phone

to Dorian.

Dorian immediately erupted into a coughing fit. Then, he took a few sips of the lentil soup to suppress it.

“I spat into the lentil soup.” Gisele’s indifferent voice came through.

Dorian had just taken a big gulp of soup. At that moment, It got stuck in his throat. He was unsure of whether to swallow it or spit it out.

Jessie’s hand trembled as her phone felt uncomfortably hot. She hurriedly changed the subject, her voice quivering. “Madam Gisele, when will you be back?”

“I won’t be going back to Jefferson Manor anymore,” Gisele said.

“But,

Madam Gisele, you’re all alone out there. Where are you now?” Jessie was genuinely

worried.

Gisele had been barely 19 years old when she had married Dorian. At that time, her face had.

hinted at innocence.

Jessie had looked at her as if she were her child. During the first two years of her marriage, Gisele had never spent a night at her parents‘ home or elsewhere.

“I’ve found a place to stay.” Gisele quickly added, “Don’t worry, it’s very safe.”

Jessie muted her phone again, seeking Dorian’s opinion.

In the old days, if a man’s wife left after an argument, the best way to resolve conflicts was for him to go and bring her back himself.

“Tell her that if she doesn’t return by 10:00 pm, I’ll freeze all her cards,” Dorian said coldly. He pushed the lentil soup aside, his demeanor cold.

Jessie’s heart sank. Gisele had been living at Jefferson Manor this whole time, relying solely

on the Jeffersons.

The Meyer family had never been reliable. They knew the kind of life Gisele had been living with the Jeffersons. Yet over the years, the Meyers only sought to benefit from her because

of her marriage.

It was in late at night, and if all Gisele’s cards were blocked, she would be…

“Jessie, all the cards and checkbooks are in the beside table in my bedroom. If Dorian

returns, please give them to him,” Gisele said over the phone.

Jessie was sweating profusely. She showed Dorian her phone screen again, having muted it. She didn’t understand how Gisele could predict Dorian’s thoughts and actions so accurately.

“I haven’t touched any of the money in there. You can have Jefferson Group’s finance department check on it.”

Gisele continued speaking in a composed manner. “My wedding ring and jewelry are all in the second drawer. I’ll leave it to you, Jessie.”

“Madam Gisele…” Jessie didn’t know what else to say.

Dorian grabbed a tissue and wiped the corner of his m*uth. Then, he furiously tossed it onto the table, holding back his pent–up frustration. “Tell Gisele that if she doesn’t come back-”

“One last thing. Please tell Mr. Jefferson not to make things difficult for the Meyers. He’s been eating the meals I prepared for three years. Please consider it my request that he show them mercy.” Gisele finished speaking and hung up the phone.

Dorian’s unfinished message got choked in his throat.

The dial tone sounded from the other end of the line, while Jessie remained frozen, holding the phone. Did Gisele mean that Dorian had been living off her for three years?

Gisele hadn’t used the household allowance Dorian had provided her at all. And he had indeed grown accustomed to eating the meals Gisele cooked. So, in a way, he had been living

off her.

Dorian tossed his spoon aside. “What trash! Even the dogs wouldn’t eat it.”

Jessie dared not look up. Realizing how he was reacting, Dorian’s face grew even darker as he retreated to the study.

“Not a word about today to Grandfather,” Dorian said before closing the study door.

Jessie nodded repeatedly.

For the next three days, Gisele didn’t set foot inside Jefferson Manor. Whenever Dorian came home, he never caught sight of her. His expression grew gloomier with each passing day.

According to Jon. Dorian has been in a foul mood.

mt, at this time, one person entered the Jefferson Group with a cheerful air about him. It was Bernard Murray, the second son of the Murray family. He was one of Dorian’s tow close

The Murray’s, (entre and old money, had started out in chemistry In Hearthfield and amassed their wealth through that. But lately, they had struck it big in the world of e–sports live streaming.

Pertsand, in particular, was an oddball among Hearthfield’s elite. He was notorious for being a playboy and having an easygoing reputation.

His new talk show, which merged medical treatment with live streaming, had caused quite a stir.

Bernard excelled at simplifying sensitive and complex toples, making them understandable to the general public. He blended humor and entertainment, making his show relevant to millions of people.

Perhaps no one else could pull off a show with millions of viewers like he could.

“Jonnie, is Doge in?” Bernard shouted at Jon as soon as he entered the lobby at Jefferson

Group.

Jon, a former special forces soldier, was a true special operations champion. Thanks to his exceptional skills, he had received earnest pleas for him to stay and train specialized units.

The reason he had chosen to work for Dorian instead was because the latter had done him a

lifesaving favor in the past.

Jon’s inherent military sharpness and solemnity made most steer clear of him. Well, except for Bernard, who tenaciously called him “Jonnie“.

Bernard approached Jon, whose knuckles were white from clenching his fists so tightly.

He brandished a document in front of Jon’s face. “Jonnie, look at this document. Watch me.

Dorian will be laughing in three seconds flat.‘

Jon’s m*uth twitched slightly as he pressed the elevator button. “Mr. Murray, this please.”

way,

Once they were inside Dorian’s office, Bernard slapped a file down onto Dorian’s desk.

“The guests for this episode are something else. She must showcase her skills in front of the aristocratic veterans, who have weathered many challenges.

“If your dream girl has talent, she can transition from being just a beauty in the medical field to a prominent figure in the industry.”

After glancing through the documents, Dorian’s expression cleared slightly.

“Please confirm Sierra as a guest. Then, you can fill in whatever sponsorship amount,” Dorian said, lifting his gaze from the file.

Dorian could tell the value of this episode just from the documents. Most of the patients. Bernard had invited were elderly veterans from the military convalescent home.

Dorian had recognized the names of a few of Declan’s former colleagues and subordinates on the list. Bernard’s ability to invite them guaranteed that this episode would be sensational.

Once this was made known, countless people would be scrambling to invest.

“Don, are you serious about Sierra?” Bernard frowned upon hearing Dorian’s words.

“There’s no need to doubt Sierra’s medical skills.” Dorian signed a document and left the sponsorship amount blank, as promised.

“But I’m still waiting for Gigi Toby Fluff,” Bernard said with undisguised regret on his face.

“Fluff?” Dorian looked disgusted. “Which ex–girlfriend of yours is that?”

“Don’t start on me now, please! Gigi Toby Fluff is my idol! This episode is dedicated to her!” Bernard exaggeratedly exclaimed. The next second, he filled in 50 million dollars for the sponsorship amount.

Jon’s l*ps twitched again. 50 million dollars in sponsorship was at least three times the expected amount for a show of this caliber. Yet, Bernard had dared to write that!

Bernard still looked regretful. “I’ve seen her volunteering with a mask on. Her professionalism, medical skills, and acupuncture skills… Wow!

“Besides that, her skin is as fair as snow, and her ample chest and slim waist… Oh my, 36D and no more than 24 inches. And there’s a red mole by her ear….

Jon was rendered speechless as he watched Bernard. Was he still talking about her medical

skills?

If Bernard continued, his thoughts would need to be censored!

But Dorian seemed a little distracted.

Gisele’s skin was very fair. She always dressed modestly, drawing less attention to her bust,

but she had a very slim waist.

When she lowered her head, a snow–white nape would be exposed, and she had a tiny red mole behind her ear. And, wait a minute–she seemed to like cats too….

Dorian was in a daze when Bernard suddenly shouted, “What? Did Gigi Toby Fluff agree to be a guest? Send her the invitation Immediately!”

Bernard slammed the signed contract in front of Dorian. “I want to breach the contract!”

Dorian lifted his eyes, looking dangerous, Bernard was the first person to breach a contract with Jefferson Group right after signing it!

He was willing to go that far for Gigi Toby Fluff?

Bernard turned excitedly and spoke into his Bluetooth earpiece. “Give me Gigi Toby Fluff’s number. I’ll talk to her myself to show her my sincerity!”

After getting the phone number, Bernard wasted no time. Before leaving, he turned back to look at Dorian. “Don, sorry about that. My idol is here. She’s above everything else.”

Dorian stood up and slammed his palm on the table, covering the signed contract.

The atmosphere in the office instantly became so cold that it could send chills down one’s spine. Even Jon, who was at the far entrance, was affected. His sturdy frame trembled involuntarily.

But the culprit, Bernard, seemed oblivious as he called the number.

His face was glowing, and he even cleared his throat repeatedly before speaking. It was as if he was worried that his rough voice might hurt his idol’s ears.

As Bernard cleared his throat, the call connected.

He spoke gently as he suppressed his excitement. “Hello, Gigi. I’m the investor for “The Ideal Nursing Home‘ program. Thank you for joining us. With you on board, our show is sure to shine!”

Bernard was fawning, and his voice dripped with warmth. “Are you free to come to the office and sign the contract today?

“If not, I can deliver it to you! Just give me your address, and I’ll be there within 30 minutes.

Seeing Bernard about to make his escape, Dorian reached out. He grabbed Bernard’s collar and yanked off one of his Bluetooth earpieces.

A gentle and polite voice came from the other end of the phone. “Thank you. I happen to have some time. See you at the office later.”

Dorian was about to say that Bernard had already signed a contract with him when he heard. Content (C) Nôv/elDra/ma.Org.

the woman’s voice.

Her voice sounded vaguely familiar, yet he couldn’t quite place where he had heard it before.

Looking like an agitated cat, Bernard ended the call. His eyes were wide as he chastised

Dorian.

“Dorian! Don’t be so rude! I agreed to pay the penalty for breaching the contract, and you
