Chapter 13
Chapter 13
Dorian and Gisele, who were lying on the bed, looked at the door in unison.
Dorian was bare–chested and pressed down on Gisele. Her slender arms were wrapped tightly around his firm, lean body, while her red l*ps gently brushed against his chest.
“Ah!” Gisele exclaimed and quickly hid behind Dorian, looking panicked as if she had been caught doing something wrong.
Dorian pushed her away fiercely, but she had the foresight to wrap her arms around his waist, preventing him from pushing her away.
“Are you just going to abandon me after playing with me?” Gisele’s gentle and husky voice slowly rose.
Dorian’s and Sierra’s expressions changed simultaneously; the former darkened while the latter blushed and turned pale alternately.
Her beautiful eyes were filled with watery waves, staring at Dorian with a pitiful look while her lower l*p caught between her teeth.
It was a picture of such vulnerability that it would melt the heart of anyone who saw it.
Gisele released Dorian, sat up, and wiped her slender hands. Her beautiful face was flushed with a thin layer of sweat glistening on her forehead.
After wiping the oil from her hands, Gisele rose and walked out with a detached and composed air. “Ms. McMillan, please have a seat. Thank you for coming to take care of my husband.”
Though the words were quite ordinary, Gisele used an extremely ambiguous and husky tone. Just hearing it made one’s thoughts wander.
Dorian, who had been lying on the bed, sat up abruptly. His jaw clenched, and he glared at Gisele’s back.
How dare she say such things in front of Sierra?
Sierra bit her l*p, and a large tear hung precariously from her eyelashes. It seemed as if it would fall at any moment, making her appear even more fragile.
Gisele watched Sierra weep. Despite being a woman herself and despite the rivalry between them, she couldn’t help but admit that Sierra was indeed beautiful, a goddess worthy of admiration. 1
As Gisele was about to walk past Sierra and out of the room, a large tear silently rolled down the latter’s ch*ek. She called out softly, “Gisele…”
Gisele turned around, puzzled. Their faces were very close together when Sierra suddenly grabbed her hand and leaned back.
“Ah!” A cry of surprise rang out.
Dorian, who had been buttoning up his shirt on the bed, rushed over swiftly and caught Sierra in his arms, cushioning her fall.
As Sierra lay in Dorian’s embrace, her head involuntarily tilted up, and her l*ps met his jaw in a k*ss.
Gisele stumbled backward as she was pulled off balance by Sierra’s sudden movement. All rights © NôvelDrama.Org.
To prevent herself from falling, she instinctively grabbed the doorknob, but she twisted her ankle in her haste.
The sharp pain from the sprain made her face pale. As her gaze fell upon the couple, who were still embracing on the floor, her eyes felt like they had been pierced by something.
Her breath caught in her throat, and she stared at them in a daze.
The hero’s rescue k*ss seemed so romantic, yet why did she feel so distressed?
“Don, my foot hurts so much,” Sierra said delicately, her soft hands tightly embracing his waist.
Dorian held her gently, asking softly and patiently, “Did you sprain your ankle? Or did you hurt yourself somewhere else?”
“Yes. I sprained it. Look, it’s swollen so badly.” Sierra spoke with a coquettish tone, two tears falling with each word.
Tears welled up in her long eyes, turning them red. Her expression morphed into one of vulnerability, making her resemble a pitiful white rabbit.
Gisele had no interest in watching their display of affection.
She knew that if she didn’t escape this suffocating room immediately, she would lose control and demand justice for the baby no one knew about.
“Gisele! Are you going to walk away after pushing someone?” Dorian stood up abruptly, reaching out to grab her hand.
The pain in Gisele’s wrist and ankle was nothing compared to the ache in her heart.
It was a heart she had meticulously mended, threadbare and stitched with invisible scars, yet it continued to beat with a fierce determination to live.
She defiantly looked up, her clear and bright eyes staring straight at him. “Dorian, do you think I’m a despicable woman?”
Her voice, clear and yet laced with sorrow, left him momentarily stunned.
Dorian couldn’t grasp her meaning, but his gaze remained fixed on her beautiful eyes, transfixed to the spot.
Those eyes, which always carried a hint of melancholy, like those of a frightened fawn, would only light up in his presence. Yet now, they seemed to be bleeding tears.
The sight made him loosen his grip slightly.
Gisele looked past him at Sierra, who was sitting on the bed, her pale face now smug, as if flaunting her victory.
Gisele’s throat parched, and swallowing felt like knives scraping down her dry throat. 1
“Do I need to remind you of the consequences of crossing her?” She knew Dorian was aware of everything, but his heart was biased. Naturally, he wasn’t in favor of someone insignificant like her.
She snatched her hand away and darted a glance at Sierra, who sat perched on the bed.
Sierra said softly, “Don, it wasn’t Ms. Meyer’s fault. It’s my own clumsiness that I twisted my ankle while rushing to see you.”
Dorian turned anxiously to inspect her ankle, which was swollen and discolored. It indeed
looked dreadful.
“But Don, could Gisele give me a massage? She was top in her class at school,” Sierra said, batting her teary eyelashes, her delicate face pleading.
Gisele didn’t want to watch their tender scene and turned to leave.
“Stop,” Dorian commanded.
Gisele paused, her swollen foot hovering in the air.
Come and give Sierra a massage “DO

ordered. His voice was cold. It was a command,
Gisele gently placed her swollen foot down, the pain piercing through the bone marrow, making her instinctively take deep breaths.
Her luck seemed to worsen whenever she was involved with them.
“Maybe Gisele doesn’t want to? Let’s forget it then.” Sierra spoke considerately on her
behalf
Dorian’s breath grew heavier. Gisele took several deep breaths to steady her aching heart before turning with a smile. “Does she need a massage?”
Hearing her distant voice and seeing her smile made Dorian frown subconsciously. He sensed something edd.
“150 thousand dollars. Pay first.” Gisele stood at the door, clearly ready to leave if they were unwilling to pay.
Dorian stared at her coldly, a malicious smile on his l*ps. “Are you crazy for money? Are those hands even worthy?”
“Whether they’re worthy or not isn’t for you to say, but for everyone else to judge.” Gisele suppressed her heartache.
She then playfully said, “Perhaps it wouldn’t be worth it for you, but what about Mr. Murray? It’s a different story entirely.
“For him, a million dollars wouldn’t break a sweat, let alone a measly 150 thousand, wouldn’t you agree?”
Bernard had proposed a hefty fee of 200 thousand dollars per episode, plus a guaranteed appearance bonus.
On top of that, there had been performance–based bonuses that could easily match the price she had quoted Dorian, ensuring a comfortable retirement for the elderly veterans they were supporting.
The exact amount of the bonuses would vary, but they would not be less than the price she had given Dorian.
“Take your
time to decide. Let me know when you’ve made up your mind,” Gisele said, turning to leave with a calm expression.
