Contract Marriage With The Disabled CEO By Woody Rain Chapter 56
Chapter 56
Chapter 56 You Can Do Something Else to Repay
Peter was stunned silent at Kerwin’s words.
Betty was also startled and looked at Kerwin in disbelief. “What did you say?”
“You married me for permanent residency?” Kerwin said slowly. “You get what you want. Even if you divorce me, you still have residency.”
Betty’s face was as white as sheet.
Kerwin knew my purpose in getting married to him?
It was understandable. He knew my mom’s situation, so it was not surprising that he had considered that.
Betty met Kerwin’s gaze, bit her bottom lip, and said in an undertone, “I know you want something from this marriage. If you get what you want, will you divorce me?”
Kerwin didn’t expect Betty would turn the question back to him. He thought for a moment.
Betty was not a fool. Of course, he knew Kerwin had his reasons to marry her.
Kerwin looked serious and answered, “No.”
Betty was stunned when she heard this brief answer.
Seeing Betty’s astonished look, Kerwin added, “You’re my wife forever.”
You’re my wife forever.
Kerwin’s words surprised Betty. She looked at Kerwin with her mouth open.
“So,” Kerwin said in a low voice, tinged with determination. “Betty, never think of leaving me.”
Betty’s heart skipped a beat.
She had butterflies in her stomach.
She looked away to avoid eye contact. “Don’t worry. As long as you don’t want a divorce, I won’t cuckold you or file for a divorce.”
Betty’s voice was low, but Kerwin heard her. Seeing Betty’s flushed face, he felt less angry.
Let it be.
He knew very well why she married him.
It didn’t matter to him that she had no feelings for him for the time being.
They had been married and living together. He was confident that he could win her heart sooner or
later.
When they arrived home, it was dusk. Robert and Lillian weren’t there.
Betty always felt that Kerwin disliked being taken care of by them, though he was polite to them. She didn’t know if it was her illusion.
“Are you hungry?” Betty took off her jacket, rolled up her sleeve, and walked into the kitchen. “Let me cook for you.”
She was stunned when she opened the fridge.
The spaghetti she cooked yesterday was covered with plastic wrap and placed inside.
“Are you hungry?” Kerwin rose from the wheelchair and walked behind her. Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.
“No.” Betty came to her senses. “Let me cook some pasta for you.”
With that, she reached out to take the pasta, but Kerwin gripped her wrist. “No need. I can eat
spaghetti.”
With that, he took out the spaghetti from the fridge and walked to the microwave.
Betty walked to him. “You can’t. It’s leftover.”
Kerwin was so picky about food, so Betty didn’t bear to see him eat leftovers.
Then she reached out to take away the plate of spaghetti from Kerwin’s hand. However, Kerwin raised his hand suddenly and raised his eyebrows. “Why can’t l? I had it last night.”
Kerwin was much taller than Betty. When he raised the plate so high, it was totally out of Kerwin’s
reach.
It occurred to her that they left too anxiously to eat two plates of spaghetti she cooked yesterday.
It looked like Kerwin ate one plate of it and put the other one into the fridge when he came home last night.
Betty felt very ashamed. She tiptoed to reach Kerwin’s hand. “No one cooked for you last night. But I’m with you now. Let me make fresh dishes for you.”
Watching Betty anxiously hold her hands up, Kerwin pursued his lips. But his hand was still upraised. He bent slightly to look closely at Betty who raised her head.
Seeing the enlarged handsome face, Betty was taken by surprise. She lost balance and stumbled. Luckily, Kerwin acted fast and held her waist so that she wouldn’t fall to the ground.
“Be careful,” Kerwin said in a low voice. “No need to cook today. I like the spaghetti you made very much.”
It was a simple sentence. Somehow, Betty couldn’t help but blush when she heard Kerwin say that with a low and attractive voice.
“If you want to eat spaghetti, I can cook for you.”
For fear that Kerwin found out how nervous she was, she hung her head low. “It’s bad for your health to eat leftovers.”
“It won’t. I only have it once in a while.” Kerwin released his grip on Betty’s waist and put the spaghetti into the microwave. “I don’t want to waste the food you cook.”
Betty failed to persuade Kerwin and could only let him heat the spaghetti and eat it.
Kerwin had good table manners. Even if it was just a plate of spaghetti, he was eating it elegantly, as if he was enjoying the food provided by three-star Michelin restaurants.
“Well…” When Kerwin was eating, Betty sat opposite him, twisting her hands. After thinking twice, she opened her mouth, “You paid my mom’s medical bills. Today I asked the doctor. He told me it was 60,000 dollars. I’ll try to return it to you.”
Kerwin who focused on eating looked terrible when he heard Betty.
“Betty,” he swallowed the spaghetti in his mouth and said in an undertone. “Did you forget what you promised me yesterday?”
.
“Yesterday?” It took Betty moments to realize what he was talking about. “I’ll ask you for help if I’m in need?”
“Yes.” Kerwin raised his eyes and looked into Betty’s eyes. “I thought you would count on me.”
Kerwin’s gaze was very sharp as if it could see through her. Betty looked away with an embarrassed look. “It’s not like that. I… I just don’t want to owe others anything.”
When she said that, Betty bit her lower lip stubbornly.
Though she considered Kerwin as her friend, she couldn’t bear to owe him anything.
Looking at Betty’s stubborn look, Kerwin choked back words he wanted to say.
“If you want to do something in return…” Kerwin dropped his eyes to the plate of spaghetti and an idea struck him. “No need to return the money. You know, I don’t lack money. You could do something else to offset it.”
“Something else?” Betty looked at Kerwin right away. She didn’t know what she could do for him since he didn’t lack anything.
