Comeback Of The Adored Heiress

Chapter 1346

Chapter 1346:

Waylon sat in the car, overwhelmed by a swirl of emotions. After this discovery, shock, delight, and frustration all crashed together. He didn’t want to see Laurin anymore. So, after she and the young woman entered the apartment complex, he started his car and drove away, intending to find Evie directly and confront her.

Evie had just reached the door of her villa when something made her stop. Her gaze locked onto the familiar car, and then her eyes landed on the person behind the wheel.

Waylon walked toward her, unable to tear his gaze away from her serene expression. She said nothing, quietly looking at him.

He took a deep breath and broke the silence between them.

“I’ve been back in the country for so long. Don’t you have anything to say to me?”

“What?” Evie asked in confusion.

Waylon could no longer hold back. He said, “Nothing ever happened between you and Laurinda. I already know, so don’t lie. She’s not even a man. Why do you have to lie to me?”

As he spoke, Waylon stared at Evie intently, waiting for her explanation.

For a brief moment, Evie tensed when Waylon’s words revealed Laurinda’s true gender. However, she quickly suppressed her emotions and pretended to look calm.

“So, you already know,” Evie spoke so calmly that Waylon felt frustrated.

He pressed, “So, you still think there’s nothing wrong with what you did? Don’t you even plan to explain it to me?”

Evie stared at Waylon in silence, her gaze intense. She could see that his expression was clouded with genuine sadness and pain. But what about her? Didn’t she also suffer a lot because of this relationship?

“What’s the use of explaining?” she asked, her voice calm yet distant.

“Waylon, haven’t you already moved on? You now have someone you love, right? So, why do you still keep dwelling on the past?”

“Someone I love? When did I have someone I love?” Waylon retorted without thinking. But then, he suddenly caught on to something in Evie’s words. He took another step closer and added, “So, you’ve misunderstood me. Judging from your words, I can tell you were willing to explain. Evie, do you regret deceiving me with Laurinda back then?”

Waylon’s barrage of questions stumped Evie. She turned her head away, avoiding his gaze, her lips pressing into a thin line. She refused to speak, let alone make him see the emotions flickering in her eyes.

But Waylon had a keen sense of things. His instincts told him there was more to her silence than indifference. He stepped even closer, rested his hands on her shoulders, and forced her to look at him directly.

“Evie, you have to make it clear to me now. What makes you think I have already fallen in love with someone else?”

Evie had been deeply hurt by her relationship with Waylon. Now, she felt her carefully built defenses crumbling under Waylon’s intense gaze. The months of pain and the lingering wounds from their past all surged to the surface. She no longer wanted to keep everything hidden in her heart.

“Jenny,” Evie finally said the name.noveldrama

“Isn’t she your new girlfriend? You even brought her to Ansport. Aren’t you planning to introduce her to your mom?”

Waylon listened to Evie’s words intently, feeling angry and frustrated at the conclusions she had drawn.
